The wild dog was torn. It'd been days since he'd stolen anything. Which was unusual for him, considering he was pretty much constantly trying to steal something! But not lately. The small leopon's advice had weighed heavy on him. He'd told him that it was wrong to steal. Now his hobby was accompanied by nothing but guilt.
But... it felt so good. How could something that made him so happy be so wrong? He'd never considered himself a bad person... But Risasi had said that stealing was something only mean people did.
Huni sighed as he walked, eyes downcast. Brown ears slumped to the side, his head almost dragging the ground. He just didn't know what to do. Stealing had been his life! The only thing that he knew how to do well. If he couldn't be a thief... what could he be?
Nothing, that was what. Whining softly he plopped down under a tree, chin resting on his front paws. He just didn't know what to do with himself anymore.

Aharu'kai knew no such moral dilemmas...but then again, she was the very Goddess of Thieves, and there'd be something very wrong about a guilty one of those. She was what she was, and there was nothing to be done for it; even her family would sometimes find themselves stolen from, but they were also the only ones with any real hope of getting their stolen items back.
The adolescent wasn't anywhere near her family today, though. Now that she was older, she'd taken to wandering off for a week or so at a time, until she got tired of being alone. It wasn't much fun when she didn't have anyone to talk to, or a sibling to rope into being an accomplice.
She had just been thinking about going home, in fact, when something flopped down under the tree she was resting in. As she peered down from her branch, she cleared her throat.

Huni blinked, his ears perking when he heard the sound above him. He jumped up and looked around anxiously, hoping that he hadn't stumbled into someone's territory... He was good at running away, so he would if he had to, but... well, he was still a bit weary, and really just wanted to rest...
He realized that the sound was coming from above him, and his nose tilted upwards. His large dark eyes blinked slowly as he searched the folliage... Then saw her.
"Oh... Uh, hello... Sorry if I've disturbed you? I can go rest somewhere else..." He muttered nerviously.

"No, not really." Aharu'kai sniffed curiously in the canine's direction, not that sniffing down at someone was likely to tell her much. The truth was, she'd never actually gotten a good look at a wild dog before - or much of anything that wasn't a lion. Or food. Her encounters with most other beings tended to be brief, since they usually involved pilfering, and sticking around wasn't a very good idea in those situations.
...of course, his level of interesting-ness was only so-so, because he didn't seem to have anything.

Huni nodded his head and stood. He'd found that staying in a lion's territory was not usually a good idea, so it was probably best to leave anyway. Even if this one was small, there would probably be larger ones close by. He was about to reply when he noticed... wings!
He looked a little confused, for a moment. He'd never seen nor heard of a lion with wings...
"Excuse me..." He called, head tilted and ears fanned forward. "Did you steal your wings? From some great buzzard, perhaps? They're very nice. Might I steal a set for my own?"

"Steal them?" Aharu blinked owlishly, then broke out into a laugh. "These are mine! I've always had them." Not that things she stole didn't become hers, but...well, that wasn't the issue at hand here. "Technically I got them from my mother, I suppose, but I didn't steal them - she still has hers."
