Setting: A deciduous forest in late summer

RP Thus Far:

Riff-Raff, one of three German Shepard siblings, started to fight with Amadu over ( insert what). Meanwhile another wild dog, Daisuke, contented himself in watching from the bushes. Riff-Raff's sister, Gem, had decided to watch the confrontation.

The wind shifted and Gem caught Daisuke's scent and went to investigate. She was so sure Daisuke wanted to fight her but the male turned her down and the two began to argue heatedly as Gem threw insults at wild dogs, himself included.

Maria and Raithen, both wild, happened upon the scene and the fight escelated. Raithen was not content with allowing the 'pet' to speak ill of his kind and had to be restrained.

Lohen, came to his sister's aid and confronted the wild dogs. Daisuke was forced to body slam Raithen and pin him to the ground to keep him from attacking the larger canines.

An older dog by the name of Derby came upon the argument and tried to calm his fellow wild dogs. Finally, Maria, Daisuke, and Derby managed to calm Raithen down enough to where he wasn't a danger to anyone.

His ears twitched, and his visibly stiffened, his upper lip twitching. "Pet?" he hissed, his tail curling and his head raising. He was far from a pet. The harness was obviously different from the female's collar, and it was clear from his sudden fighting stance that he was anything but a pet. Or, at least, that's what he thought. His back paws were splayed, for balance, and his front paws were nearly equal in distance, his head held at a middle ground and his throat protected. He had not meant to sound offish to the retriever female, but the thought of being a 'pet' with the cushy life and the small bowls of kibble disgusted him. His hackles raised only slightly, and he suddenly sneered. "And what makes you think I can't face anything you can?" he asked. "I best you in two things; I'm bigger, and I'm a male." He smirked at his own brilliance. If he had learned anything from the academy, it was that calling on a female for her weaker gender would enrage her, and it would make her a prime target to be put back in her place. He intended to do just that.

"You best me, in nothing." Tail flicking she eyed his stance and Amadu's lips curled back in a sneer. "Do you know what happens to little strays like you?" Circling the male, she kept her head lowered her eyes on the battle ready shepherd, never turning her back on him as she moved. "Have you ever stared a bear down? Ever had to fight for your food in the winter?" Snorting softly she stood before him, her head lowered her azure eyes glittering dangerously. Her body was lower to the ground than the males, which would give her more balance and if this by some stretch of luck turned into a full blown fight, she had her experience. The male, no doubt knew nothing of true fighting.

Bears? He snarled, his eyes narrowing as she began to circle him, like a hunger-starved vulture. If he hadn't known any better, he might have thought he heard her belly rumble. No, he had not fought bears, and no, he never had to fight for what the academy gave them each day; he had to fight man and their strange contraptions designed to kill just about anything in it's path. He had been trained as a seek-and-kill, trained to lunge when given the opportunity and not let go. Truth be told, it would not help him here, but he didn't know that. He noted how low she was to the ground, and it confused him, but he merely snarled and followed her as she circled, imitating how she would not turn her back on him. "What of it?" he hissed, his teeth clacking together as he worked out a strategy in his head. It had been drilled into his mind that, in order to win, one must be one step ahead of the opponent, with a plan for every possible falter and change in actions. Perhaps this would be an advantage, but as she was clearly more skilled than he, it would probably not be much.

There were too many new dogs around! Daisuke had no idea what to make of any of it. He recognized one but barely knew her. The others were a mystery to him. He crouched down in the thick shrubbery and chewed on his squirrel carcass, merely watching everyone with keen interest.

Gem sat down scratching at her neck as she watched Riff-raff, she shook her head slowly. "you shouldn't think of females as weaker brother" she called walking over towards Lohen. "We can be just as strong as you males" she smirked slightly narrowing her eyes with a sniff. She scratched at her side her paw occasionally getting caught on the harness.

"Run home to your momma, pet." Squaring her stance, she stood crouched for a moment longer before she lounged at the male head on. Claws clicking on stones under foot, she suddenly swivered to the side at the last minute lashing out at the male's side instead of his face, as it had first seemed. Always thinking, forever trying to outwit the more experienced, it was always a gamble. A gamble, Amadu rarely lost. The scars over her eye were testiment to the time she had let her guard down. Never again. Eyes narrowing she snarled, she would teach this one a lesson, there was a reason why males respected females.

Riff-Raff felt himself twitch. He had forgotten that his sister was there. He bit back the urge to snap at her, and instead focused on the violet poodle. He had no time to quarrel with Gem; this was far more important than a petty fight of whether or not he should think this or that. It was a primal thing, the domination of males over females, and while he respected them, true, he always felt he had or needed an upper hand. His ears swiveled back at her statement, and with a final snarl, he lunged. It was a clash of sorts, how she lunged at the same time and the tension erupted around them, and he felt her teeth come in contact with her shoulder. He turned his head and bit down at whatever she had offered to him, be it neck, shoulder, leg or even head, and immediately set about ignoring the slow, steady throb that pulsated under his skin. He couldn't help but smile wickedly as he fell back, his paws spreading wider as he, unconsciously, took the stance she had taken earlier. Always learning, Riff-Raff. "My mother?"he asked quietly, not caring to look back at the other dogs. "I haven't seen my mother since I was 3 months old." He feinted to the right, and then dove for the left, before turning at the last minute and snapping at what he thought was her face. There was a steady thrum of best her, best her, best her! calling out in the back of his mind, the primal need of wolves, and he could only obey it. Fighting, after all, was how wild animals dealt with their problems.

Gem growled as she saw the poodles sharp teeth on her brothers shoulder, she quickly rose debating whether or not to leave it to her brother and let him learn his lesson, or whether to help. Her muscles tensed as she snarled but stayed still arguing in her mind. "but what if he gets hurt?" she frowned at this thought " but he deserves it for underestimating females" She took one step forward before taking another back her body jerking as she fought with herself inwardly.

Daisuke glanced to the other female, this time a German Shepard. His smirk slowly formed into a scowl. He noted her uneasy posture and movement. She was most certainly thinking about something and the two pet's smells intertwined so he assumed they new each other. He kept shifting his glance from the scuffle to the female, muscles tensing. 'Two on one isn't fair and if the idiot opened his mouth it's up to HIM to deal with the consequences.' He thought heatedly, mentally keeping his tail from lashing and giving away his upwind position.

Fangs cut into her shoulder and she landed on her feet, twisting her body to face the shepherd, the pain was there but the adernaline running through her veins shoved any thought of it away. Dropping into her chosen stance she braced herself as she felt his body slam into hers on his second attack. Fangs raked across her maw, and she snarled whipping around and snapping at what she hoped was his neck. There were others around, lurking in the grasses, watching and she could care less about them, this fight was the only thing she saw and this was the only thing she cared about. Fighting meant the difference between living and dying in her world, and she was determined to show them all just how strongly she clung to life.

The stripped Golden's mouth gaped stupidly for a brief moment as he noted the change in the direction of the wind. He was now, clearly downwind and almost positive his position was blown.

No matter!

He wasn't, afterall, trying to hide from anyone. He wanted to meet this female and he wasn't doing anything dodgy, merely trying to stay out of the way and not be an obvious spectator.

Gem frowned her sensitive nose able to smell the scent of yet another dog nearby, as the wind carried the scent to her her nose crinkled, these dogs smelled filthy. She turned her head towards the scent, a look of worry on her face, "what if it was another who wanted to hurt them? " she couldnt bear it if she lost one of her brothers, even if they teased her all the time for being a girl, they were still family. She peered trying to spot the other dog through the grasses.

Filthy was an objective term for Daisuke. Yes, he had never met a bottle of shampoo or a body of water without fish waste in it but he never thought of himself as dirty! He pulled burrs out of his fur on a routine basis and rolled in dust instead of mud to keep the insects at bay. For a wild dog his hygiene was pretty good.

He hoped the pet female hadn't spotted him yet. She seemed to be looking straight at him! If she was anything like her brother he'd like nothing more than to show her the 'wild' side of life.

It truly was a 'dog eat dog' sort of world. You killed to live and you fought to not be killed. He smirked inwardly and licked his teeth so they gleamed.

Gem glared into the grasses slowly stepping forward, she let her nose lead the way, it was almost impossible not to be able to smell the strong scent with her nose, that was the most important part of her job. She crouched down lower trying to hide her presence among the grass, her tail tucked down and her eyes darted about warily. Stifiling the growl that built up in her throat she treaded carefully through the grasses, placing one paw before the other softly against the ground.
