Any Sentinel in the Deep Woods above a certain age knows (and fears) Iennta. As soon as they are old enough to "settle down" they are fair game to this old matchmaker. You'd think that she'd leave honest Sentinels alone as soon as they pair up with a suitable mate of the same type, but it's only a temporary respite. If the eggs aren't coming fast enough for her liking she might single out one of the mates in order to give some motherly advice and try to sell a fertility amulet or two.

Today's unsuspecting object of her interest happens to be a certain male from a fine old aberrant family. He may be new to the Deep Woods area, but she's been keeping an eye on him and his mate since he arrived. It seems that although the pair have been officially mated for quite some time, the insistent peeping of hungry fluffs has not been heard in their territory. They must be in dire need of Iennta's incomparable assistance!

Specific details: Iennta is smart enough not to enter other Sentinels' territories, but she has no qualms about pouncing on them as soon as they leave it. She's currently keeping watch a few trees away from the edge of the territory, waiting for one of the lovebirds to show themselves. She doesn't have to wait long before Brushfyre comes along.

It had been years since Brushfyre had had a clutch, and he was already feeling pretty down about it. He was still a strong, young... well, not so young anymore, but damn it, he was still full of youth and vigor! But with him and Tynder constantly squabbling, and Brushfyre himself not so sure about creating anymore spawn, the venture seemed doomed from the beginning.

And now this.

Peering around a trunk, Brushfyre scowled at the form of Iennta. He had never met the female but word gets around fast in Noctua, and oh he had heard of her. The gossip was always ripe when young sentinels were crying over mouthfuls of skurri, and Brushfyre had a mixture of respect and horror for the old biddy. Someone who could destroy the feelings of strong young Sentinels were always friends in his book.

...but not when she seemed to be lying in wait for him. Torn between the decision to confront her and get it over with, or trying to weasel his way through the heavy undergrowth at the back of his territory, Brushfyre shuffled to and fro along the branch.

"Stupid owl." He muttered, and flew towards Iennta. One such as he does NOT scrabble out the back for a mere female.

Iennta sat quietly in the tree, or as quietly as Iennta ever sat. In fact, she was actually nearly silent, but for the soft clacking and clicking of beads and the rattling of charms in her pack as she shifted her weight every now and again. Her parus were squabbling somewhere not-too-far away, but far enough that they might not necessarily be associated with her. She was going to such great lengths to stay silent that she couldn't possibly imagine anyone noticed her.

It was all she could do not to snigger to herself, but she calmed immediately upon realizing that this was a serious situation. Iennta didn't often approve of Aberrants, but ones of such an old, established line as Tynder and Brushfyre were another case. Certainly, they were not crosstype. They didn't produce the sickly accidents that so many crosstype parents did.

And these reflections were interrupted by the fact that when Iennta looked back at where Brushfyre had been not too long ago, he was there no longer. Looking around, Iennta clicked her beak in annoyance but caught sight of him soon enough. Swallowing another wicked cackle, she fluffed her feathers and hooted a greeting.

"Good night and good hunting!" she called out cheerily, rousing her feathers. "Have you a moment, sir Brushfyre? It'll only take a moment," she added to reassure him, but then again, a moment by the Iennta Standard Time measurement could be anything from an hour to the rest of the evening. It all depended on how she felt after a few minutes of conversation. And this was a couple in great need of her considerable services, certainly.

After all, if they didn't need her, Brushfyre would be flying off to hunt for his fluffs, not to do Noctus-knew-what in the woods away from his nest.

(Is no problem at all, Nastuluff! Take your time.)
