Most would call it a 'perfect day'. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and all that other cheesey stuff that goes along with a nice day. Well, minus the foreboding storm clouds that were gathering upwind. Bright, childlike blue eyes scanned the tops of the trees from the small dragon's spot on the ground, looking for clouds, or perhaps for birds. It wasn't that she would actually try to catch them, as she knew that she couldn't, or probably wouldn't like the taste, she just had fun chasing them around. Her orange claws kneaded the grassy floor beneath her paws, and she crouched down, tail lifting up in the air before she pounced at a sparrow that had been pecking around on the ground. Immediately, it took to the skies, and she laughed before pouncing after the other birds in the vicinity of the miniscule clearing she currently occupied.

Perhaps it was her flighty nature that earned her her name, Sparrow. The fact that she couldn't live in one place for more than a week, and had never established a home for herself anywhere. Or it could have always been her love of birds, and chasing them around. The dragon's stomach grumbled, and she stretched her paws out to either side, glaring down at her stomach best she could, before grumbling a bit herself, trotting to the edge of the small patch of trees and glancing around. Maybe there was some food around here...?

Rainbow claws dug into the soft earth as a lithe body proppelled herself from one side of the stream to the other. She landed on the other side with all the grace of a cat, but unlike the furry felines, she didn't stop to primp herself. Stormwind was on the hunt. With her body streamlined close to the ground, she took off like a shot of lightning in the direction of a most delicious scent. She'd smelt it a ways back and knew if she didn't act on instinct, it would be gone before long. As the reluctant leader of her 'pack', she felt an obligation to at least feed them, and if she caught up with the heard of deer calling her name, then she wouldn't have a problem.

Her violet mane tossled in the wind, smacking itself all along her white body. The line of red circling over her stormy blue eyes closed itself in, turning a once beautiful iris into something most deadly. When she closed her eyes, her other scences heightened themselves and this was when she made the strike. A large buck was at the lead of the herd, protecting the does and their offspring from outside attack. He didn't stand a chance. Stormwind sprung out from the over growth around him and slipped under his massive body, thrusting the small horn on her snout straight up into his jugular. The beast cried out, gurgling blood across her before falling straight into position; length wise on her back.

When she rose, the does scattered. Sighing and panting slightly, Stormwind opened her eyes and more or less dragged herself through the forest, intent on making it to the clearing she knew was up ahead before her momentum ran out. With her nostrils now covered in deer blood, she couldn't tell that another dragon lay only a few feet infront of her until she came out of the woods. Not one to keep her thoughts private, as they should be, Stormwind blurted out, " Child, what are you doing out here? "

Bright blue eyes caught sight of the flash of rainbow colour that darted across her less-than-exciting scenery, causing her to jump a bit in surprise. She hadn't seen another dragon in her territory for quite a long time by now. True, with the appearance of a child, Sparrow was often mistaken for one; but that wasn't what was going on. She'd been hatched a fair time ago, by a kind dragon who'd passed by the abandoned nest she'd been left in; for whatever reason, however, she'd never gotten older than the child she was now.

The flowered dragon pressed her body close to the ground, eyes following the quick dash of the larger dragon, envying her strength, and her speed. As soon as she made the kill, though, she was no longer of Sparrow's concern. Now, she would leave and go back wherever she was, feed whatever family she was hunting for. She rested her head on her paws and let her eyes slip shut halfway.

Her nap was interrupted when the voice of no one less than that female dragon came up right beside her, making her eyes snap open, her upper body pull itself higher. She lifted a paw in front of herself and narrowed her eyes in a fairly offended fashion, and she poked her nose forward, peering at the blood-covered female over the top of her snout. "Let me assure you that, first and foremost, I am not a child. I was hatched in these mountains, and have traveled here on my own ever since then. If you must know, I was looking for something to eat," she replied, admittedly a bit irritably. Her tail swished back and forth on the ground. "Might I ask what you're doing here?"

Red painted lids flew up in surprise. Stormwind wasn't expecting that one at all. On the outside she seemed so much like a child, but evidently it was a young adult in that body. Bowing her head humbly, she said, " I applogize for my rudeness. I hope that I may be forgiven. " The stag carcass slid forward across her shoulders and she had to rise up rather quickly to prevent it from falling. She repositioned it so that even in death, it wouldn't have any chance at escape.

The rainbow dragon stood proudly, yet aloofly by the smaller flower dragon. " If you've been on you're own for that long, then you can hunt for yourself, surely. One cannot stay on their own this long in life by being incompetent. " Stormwind levelled her gaze with the younger dragons, no emotion evident in her dark blue eyes. " If you must know, I was out hunting for my dinner. The thought of sharing it with the dragons that follow me fluttered in my head briefly but you're situation reminded me that they needed to catch their own meals. "

Stormwind sauntered past the little stranger while a thought nagged at her. How long had she gone without food? Would she die this night if she wasn't fed? Guilt wasn't a pretty thing and it rode the dragon hard. Sighing, she halted briefly. " Follow me and you'll get you're supper. "

Sparrow bowed her own head in reply, eyes staying set firmly on this other dragon's dual-coloured ones. "Surely, you are forgiven," she murmured in reply, as though it wasn't something that truly needed to be said. At the same time, she didn't know this dragon as well as she'd known others, and therefore was unsure whether she would take the lack of an apology as an insult. It was best to stay safe in that realm of things. Blue eyes cast themselves up to the deer carcass that didn't seem to want to stay atop this dragon's back, and Sparrow pulled herself back up in the same moment that the other did.

"True as that may be, it's difficult to take down anything larger than a fox with a body of this size and stature. And with a quick metabolism to match, it's difficult to keep this body properly functioning with so little to eat," she noted, speaking about 'this body' as though it wasn't truly her own. She blinked rather abruptly as she was invited to follow, and stood, trotting a bit to keep up with the larger white dragon. "Remind me to thank you for your kindness," she commented, swishing her tail to either side as she followed the larger dragon. She would have made a note that the elder dragon didn't actually have to do this, but she didn't want to worm her way out of a free meal. She would take advantage of this kindness, however long it would last.

Stormwind chuckled, shaking her head from side to side as she laughed. " I wouldn't say that if I were you. Tell me to remind you of anything and I'll harass you for a lifetime. " The lithe white dragon wanted to run again, to feel the wind moving through her mane and even though she was positive the deer wouldn't move again, she had to remind herself that a younger one followed. Even though she wasn't as much of a hatchling as she looked, the girl's body was still small and she wouldn't be able to keep up.

" You need a pack to watch over you and help you to hunt until you're body decides that its time to grow. Otherwise, you may very well die. " She stopped at a worn cross section, looking this way and that before continuing, taking the uphill path. A dark, forboding scent overpowered her for a moment before she lowered her snout to the earth and continued forward. Bits and pieces of past kills lined the hillside around her, adding further stench to the air. Stormwind broke out into a leap, landing herself in the middle of a small clearing. The little cave to her back was empty, proof that her group wasn't in at the moment. She shrugged the deer off her and stepped away with one strong, stern comment; " Eat. "

Sparrow laughed softly to herself at the statement and gave a soft nod in response to the other's comment. "Very well. I can remember that myself, and I'll keep that in mind. Never remind-" she paused a moment, blinking to herself in slight confusion. She'd never properly introduced herself to the dragon that had been so kind to her. Looking up through brown tresses she blinked curiously.

"My sincerest apologies for being rude. My name's Sparrow. And your's...?" she asked, almost hesitant. However, if this female had been so kind up to this point, there was no reason for her to be anything else. Sparrow sniffed at the air and cringed a bit; it definitely wasn't pleasant, but that was the price to pay for privacy at times, was it not? "A pack..." she murmured softly, blue eyes flicking upward when the elder female jumped down, following after her so as to not get left behind. When the deer was dropped and the command was set, she nodded, doing just as she was told and tearing a large chunk out of the flank, quite happy for the meat. It had been a long while since she'd had anything so filling.
