I find myself in a wonderful, if somewhat overwhelming situation.
My English teacher and I are conspiring to develop a creative way for my to earn my final credits for the subject, and has graciously agreed to cater to my fascination with Victorian fiction. She has assigned a paper on Verne's classic "Journey", and has given me free reign over the topic. My reaction could be accurately described with the popular "kid in a candy store" metaphor. So many options! At the moment, I'm interested in exploring the line between Verne's applications of Victorian science and his descent into pure fantasy, but that may have to change if I'm unable to actually discover where that line lies.
Gentle friends, I ask you: any ideas? Advice? Interesting factoids? Have you learned anything on the subject?
Thank you for your time. :]
