Dear Mr. Rikery:
I am writing in response to your inquires about my son, Llyr. Since his time after his sickness, Llyr has not seemed any different.
The boy is growing well and healthy. Even though he eats like he has a bottomless pit of a stomach and his cute tummy even bulges after a meal, I cannot seem to get him to gain any weight. Thankfully, he does not appear thin like a twig, but at times I worry about his seeming lack of muscle. His hygiene is kept well in check. He takes three baths a day: when he wakes up, goes to bed, and then once in the afternoon as well. Llyr's hair does not appear to be coping well with all of his ocean trips. I would restrict his time there, but I am worried how he might deal with that.
Llyr does not appear to work well with other children or adults. When he is with me, I feel like he is a normal child. He converses, plays, helps out with chores, and really is interested in helping me cook; but whenever someone else is around or when I take him out, he appears wary and outright scared of everyone. Lately, I have resorted to letting him take his very worn stuffed octopus, Bubbles, to the park and beach to help give him courage to talk to others. This method works better than nothing, but most people can still only get a couple works and maybe get eye contact.
The boy only seems happy when he is at the ocean or eating while sitting on the counter. Health-wise, he is picture perfect except for his weight and maybe hair, but I am concerned about his socialization with others. If there are any suggestions you can offer, they would be greatly appreciated, for I am running low on ideas.
I hope to hear from you soon,
~Echo L. Foxtrot
