Hilaire and Lucifer walked side by side, neither speaking a word. The mornings events were still fresh in their minds, though both thought differently about them. Hilaire was not pleased about the ordeal with her parents, and tried not to think about the noise. She became scared everytime she did.
Lucifer on the other hand was the opposite. He couldn't stop thinking about it. For him it was getting very loud, almost drowning the rest of the world out. It made him very serious and very quiet. Especially because his summoner could here it too.
Hilaire looked around and noticed she had brought them unconsciously to the fountain close to the shop. The place that brought her to Lucifer. She sat on the side of the fountain and just stared at it. She wondered if there was another like her there at this very moment, willing to give up everything for their one desire.
Lucifer sat beside her, and noticed that was very far away. His eyes followed her stare to a small shop hidden in the shadows, and he could instantly feel what it was. "Is that...is that where you found out how to contact me?"
Hilaire gave a nod, with out removing her gaze from the door. She wanted to go in and ask about what was happening. It was only now that she noticed how loud the noise was getting. But what if they didn't know? Maybe it was just them hearing it.

A lady with short hair stepped out the shop with a small cloth bad in one hand and paused to lock the door behind her. She looked both ways then, though no cars ever passed through Durem's central square, and straightened her colorful silk dress before hurrying across the cobbles to stop at the fountain herself. Quickly, jerkily, she opened the bag as she sat on the concrete rim. Inside was a small box- and inside that was food, apparently, because she pulled chopsticks out of the bag next, then began to eat.
To a Named demon like Lucifer, it would be immediately clear what this lady was- she outranked him, at least in Hell, though she was clearly human. She couldn't be anyone but the avatar of Lust, but the aura of peace surrounding her meant that she was very dearly unhappy. Otherwise, it was likely passerby would be stripping each other's clothes off- but as they passed, fights stopped and smiles broke out. Yes, she was an unhappy mortal incarnation of horror, but that made her approachable, didn't it?

Lucifer sat up straight and stared at the woman. He was no fool, he could feel it as soon as she stepped out of the shop. Even though he wasn't extremely fond of his summoner, he knew what would happen if he let his guard down. He placed his hand on the slouched back of Hilaire.
Hilaire was looking at the woman as well, though out of curiosity. What had she done at the shop? It looked like she locked the door, so does she work there? She felt Lucifer's hand on her back, but she was far to interested in the girl to do anything about it.

She looked up nervously, brushing her hair out of her eyes as though it were something she wasn't used to doing. Perhaps it had only been cut recently? "Good afternoon," she said sweetly, with a smile that hinted at a kind of innocence she probably shouldn't be able to have. Now that her food was out, her mood seemed to have superficially improved, and her urgency appeared to have lessened significantly. "How are you?"

Hilaire blushed as she realized she was indeed staring, and most people found that rude. She looked at Lucifer, and he too had been staring, though his look was slightly different than hers. She tapped his face, the tap boarding on a slap, and gave him a small scowl. "Don't be rude."
Lucifer gave a slight jump and gave her a bewildered look. "You were doing it too! So don't punish me." He looked back at the girl and gave soft smile. "Hello, I'm just fine thank you. How are you?"
Hilaire raised a brow at him and then turned to the girl. "Hi! I'm doing alright." She lied. She knew Lucifer did too, but she didn't want to get a stranger involved in her mess. "I'm Hilaire and this grump is Lucifer."
Oops...was she allowed to tell people his name? Wouldn't they get weirded out by it? Either way, it was too late now.

With a giggle that seemed to be focused on the tapping of Lucifer's face, she fished something from her lunch box and ate it. "A demon, is he?" She smiled more sincerely, though her mood still seemed to remain rather low because the atmosphere around her didn't alter at all. "That's alright. I know a lot of them. Meeting you is a pleasure, Hilaire and Lucifer." After a moment of silence, she held out the lacquered box to the pair. "Would you like some?"

Hilaire was taken back by the fact she knew what Lucifer was, though it really shouldn't have been a surprise. After all, she had emerged from the Daemonologie shop. Hilaire smiled, and when offered the chance to try the source of the tantalizing smell, she quickly agreed. She delicately reached and pulled a small piece from the box, being sure not to get her hands on the rest of it. After popping the morsel into her mouth she let out a little squeal of joy. "This is delicious! Thanks! Um, I'm sorry, whats your name?"
Lucifer was not surprised at all, he in fact expected it sooner. He reached his free hand over and pinched a small piece between his long nails. He placed it in his mouth and a small smile crossed his face. He too liked it, but he wasn't about to degrade himself by acting like Hilaire. "Thank you. Are you a summoner as well?"
Perhaps hr demon was able to remain in the shop if she stepped out. After all, there were infinite possibilities when it came to a contract.

"My name is Hae-min," she said. "And... I'm not quite a summon... er..." She looked over her shoulder at the man who had appeared from no where. He would be quite familiar to Lucifer- after all, it was the Prime Minister of Hell. "Lucifuge," she said, folding the lid back over the box.
He smirked. "Luxuria." Bending down, he kissed her on the lips for a moment; she pulled back, almost falling into the fountain as she did. "I'd like to speak to these two. Alone."
She straightened, face a tiny bit flushed. "Yes, of course, my Lord." With an apologetic look at Hilaire and Lucifer, she retreated to the shop.
"You'll have to forgive her," he said in a tone that was a mockery of sweetness. "She's not quite used to being what she is yet. Will you come with me, please?"

The hairs on the back of Lucifer's neck bristled. This was incredibly unexpected, and it was not a pleasant surprise. Something had to have happened, after all, the prime minister didn't do anything with out reason. He grabbed Hilaire's hand and helped her up. "Yes, Prime Minister, but if I may ask. What business do you have with me?"
Hialire jumped when the man appeared, and after being hoisted up by Lucifer she tried to pull her hand back. It wouldn't budge. What was going on? He was acting so strange, on top of that he'd become rather touchy feely lately. She wasn't amused one bit. He was here to help her, not get some action.

"No business with you, Lucifer," said the Prime Minister none-too-gently. "Your mother, by the by, sends her regards." Then he gripped Lucifer's wrist and pulled the younger demon and his summoner through the shadows from which he'd come.
"My mistress. I've done as you said." He bowed deeply to a young woman whose features could not be discerned. "Hilaire Montroe, as requested."
The mistress laughed, a high cacophony of voices from one throat. "You and the boy should go, darling," said the many voices. "I want to speak with her alone."
He looked over at Lucifer. "Come," he ordered, pointing at the door.

Lucifer didn't want to leave her alone. Not with that woman. But he had no choice. He could be killed or worse for insubordination. He bowed hesitantly and followed Lucifuge. He never really cared much for mortals, but none deserved what may happen to Hilaire.
Hilaire gulped and looked frantically at Lucifer. What was going on? She wasn't special, she wasn't anyone or anything. Just a fool who sold her soul for love. With her demon gone, she turned to the woman and took in a deep breath. "Uh...er..hi..."

Lucifuge shut the door behind him, leaving Hilaire alone with the Mistress. "Lucifuge loves Us," said the mistress calmly, sitting in her chair. (Take a seat an unknowable voice murmured into the human girl's ear.) "Do you envy Us, Hilaire? No one loves you after all." These cruel words weren't softened at all by the mistress's heartless tone. "Hm... How sad."

That stung. Clearly this woman knew her. Had that b*****d been spying on her? She followed the voices instructions. She opened her mouth to make a very rude comment, but considering how little she knew of her situation, Hilaire decided silence would be best. She drew in another deep breath. "Yes, I envy all those who are loved."

The mistress leaned forward, her dark curls pouring over her shoulder like a waterfall. "We love you, though. Would you become one of Our children, Hilaire?" Her voices now were as a tender caress, like balm on a wound left untended too long. "You're envious. That's good. We can use that to rid the entire world of misery. Doesn't that sound noble and good?"

How could they love her? They didn't know her. But her voice was so soothing, Hilaire wanted to go and place her head on her lap ao that the woman could stroke her hair. "Your children...? But how could I do something like that? I'm not special..."
