Yawning she flopped over onto her side, sleepy eyes slowly opening. Tilting her head she glanced up at the sky through the tangled curls of her mane. She had napped for a couple of hours it seemed, more than enough to feel rested and ready to continue her journey.

Not that she had a real destination in mind for the time being. She was merely following a path that had caught her attention. It had led her through the open grassland within which she currently rested. Her most recent goal of climbing the purple-sided mountain had been achieved and she had returned to the flatland a few days prior. With no new goal yet to focus her, she was simply wandering and enjoying the freedom she always found when she was on the move.

Rolling onto her belly she bent her graceful head to itch at her knee, curly mane flowing over her neck like the water it resembled, almost appearing like her father's who possessed a mane that was the real thing, living ocean, cool and salty.. She had taken most of her features from her graceful mother, and her coat was the perfect mix of the two. The colours of the sun just before the ocean swallowed it at dusk.

Lifting her head, slender neck flexing as she gazed round, she gathered her sleek limbs beneath her. It was probably time to move again.. she was well rested and eager to continue.

Zhu rarely made plans, the only plans he considered were those that revolved around his immediate family. He would often select a day to return home to visit his parents and siblings but aside from that, each day was open to new opportunities and adventure. Always one to let his hooves take the lead, he drifted back and forth across the Kawani lands in a decidedly erratic fashion. Accompanied by the ever wistful smile on his lips and his pet (a leaf), he was more than content with his current state of affairs and the tranquility of the world surrounding him. Ah, he knew that there was often unrest in certain regions but given they had rarely impacted on him, he had no complaints.

He truly was a creature of the winds, permitting his instincts to guide him across wide expanses with no particular directive in mind. It had been this way since foalhood, it had been this way since he had met the Seer and had received a peculiar message. While he had taken the message to heart he hadn't let it darken his view on the world. His task was a specific one and yet, so much of the detail had been left vague that he could go about it as he pleased. He was grateful for that much!

Alas, as the sun peeked shyly round from behind the mountainside the Uni-Angeni found himself on the grasslands below. Wings quivered and ruffled slightly against his sides, pinions drinking up some of the dew that had nestled within. Eventually the sun would raise her head with more confidence and would lovingly dry him off but for the time being he would remain damp. Aha but the trace of fluffy white clouds in the lightening sky were an indication that today would be a glorious day.

...Again.

His smile deepened at such an awareness and with a small snort of appreciation the Uni-Angeni waded through the tall grasses towards the lake to locate both food and water. Wanderer he might have been, but even he required a certain amount of supplement to continue his day. That and if he was entirely honest he was in no rush, despite his idle pace he always managed to run in to something or someone of interest. There was never a dull moment in his life...but then again he had always been satisfied with simple pleasures.

The warmth of the new sun seeped into her coat, bringing an easy smile to her muzzle. What would she do today? She was too far to go visit Vytali or Apollo, and her family were some distance from her current location though she would head back that way soon.

Giving a slight shake of her head she gathered her legs under her and rose up, appearing out of the long grass. Standing she gave a shake, mane and tail flying, bits of grass and leaf scattering to the breeze. Settling again she lifted her head, gazing round her. Almost instantly the shape of a strange soquili caught her attention. It was big.. who ever it was, with large flared wings. And pink. She couldn't make out too much, the grass nearly reaching the stranger's belly, but as the winged soquili drew closer she became sure that it was in fact a male. A pink male.

"Well hello.. " She murmured to herself, curiosity swiftly filling her, carrying her over the ground at a swift trot towards him. Slender legs moved through the belly-high grass smoothly, sleek neck held high and ears pricked forwards in a friendly fashion. She slowed and stopped a short distance away from him. Head up and her unusual gold on black eyes fixed on him, expression curious.

"Hello there.. " She called, her soft voice friendly and warm. The light breeze caught her curly mane and made it ripple along her neck, a few locks falling over her face as she studied the stranger with an alert and intrigued gaze. Now she was closer, she could see details. Like his wings had an unusual double-hue to them, and he had a tail like her friend Apollo's, which ment he had to be a unicorn.. or part-unicorn she corrected herself, noticing the lack of a horn. She couldn't help her gaze being drawn to his hair though. It was so long and silky looking... like it would be warm to the touch. And he had a strange.. stick-like thing in his hair.

She had never seen an angeni before, only heard about them in stories, but she noticed the small wings at his ears and wondered if that was what he was. She really hoped so! What a tale she would have when she next saw her siblings! Smiling she bobbed her head politely to the tall stallion. "I'm Hakumei. Are you a local?"

Zhu was a rather unique creature, he was the only one in his family to possess a lion tail. Even his father didn't have one and as such, Zhu was a little bit of a black sheep. It was complex and often a source of entertainment amongst the family when it came to his appearance. Neither parent had pink hair, neither possessed a lion tail and yet he was most definitely one of their children. Perhaps it was a throw back from a further ancestor but none knew - all that was certain was he didn't really resemble his parents at all. His brother on the other hand, resembled his mother and his younger sister looked so much like his father it was startling...

Ah, but who cared?

Zhu's pink appearance had been the source of entertainment for family, friends and acquaintances. As a child he had been teased for being girly and yet he had possessed the inate ability to laugh at it. There was no reason for him to remain depressed, no reason to be heartbroken over his appearance when he knew he was handsome in his own right. Unlike the majority of the Soquili that existed in the Kawani lands he was comfortable with who and what he was. That being said he was a half breed and as such, possessed the qualities of both an Angeni and a Unicorn.

She was in luck!

Alas her assumption that he heralded from this area was largely in accurate and as a consequence he could do nothing more than smile pleasantly upon her approach. The manner in which she drew near and addressed him indicated she was of no threat... Thus he tilted his head to the side and observed her inquisitively until she had finished greeting him, ears pivoting and twitching in accordance with each word.

"No, I am no local," he responded after a few moments, the wistful smile still upon his lips as he flexed his wings and motioned towards the slopes. "I herald from over there, within the forests," he explained. Ever comfortable with discussing his heritage and background, he had no qualms about informing the mare of where he 'lived'. However when it came to introductions it appeared he had all but dismissed them and kept his name to himself.

"A pleasure to meet you, though your face is new to the meadows for me... Perhaps I have been gone to long, no?"

Amber eyes lit at the pleasant and cultured voice. He was much different to some of the soquili she had met in her admittedly short life. Turning her head to follow the motion of his wing, she studied the far off horizon. The shadowed bulk of the mountains easily visible. Grinning she looked back, eyes bright. "That’s close to where I come from too! I was born on those mountains to the side there.." She motioned with a nod of her head. "But we are going to live by the Ocean.. that’s where my parents are from." Giggling softly at his question she shook her head. "Not at all, we are passing through on our way to the Ocean. Though we aren't in any hurry so have been around here a little while. I doubt its long enough for anyone to recognise us."

Pausing she smiled up at him. "And thank you, its a pleasure to meet you as well, Sir. My name is Hakumei."
