The long grass brushed his sides, moving around him like a tall river of fronds. He did so love times like this, when it was peaceful, he could walk amongst those of his domain without feeling frightened. Though things had changed over the past few months, since he had met zebadie and started his very own herd, he felt far more confident. If a predator wandered near by a herd he was within, they would be protected, invisible, he cast this little trick every time he walked in to a herd these days, it kept them safe it kept him safe. Unfortunately this particular trick didn't work against gods, only normal predators. It wasn't his permanent herd so it only lasted as long as he walked amongst them.

Today he was here recruiting and he was searching for the head buck in the herd of antelope, he half padded, half clopped along leaving both paw and hoof marks in the dirt as he gave out the sense of well being, of health and happiness and of innocence. He loved those of his domain and though he knew he could never rescue them all he always tried to bring the odd herd or two to his herds lands.

Many never believed him though they always trusted him, so set in their ways, so used to the predator at their heels that they wouldn't or perhaps couldn't change their way of living. He took those whom wished to come, the odd straggler tagged along to his home lands and once there they would be happy forever, convincing a whole herd was hard but that was his task today, if only he could find the head buck.

Giggles erupted from a nearby patch of collected grass, tufts of areas even tall and thick enough to hide the boundless energy that was zigzagging her way through and bending blades where she went. The nice patch, though, was really no match for her mass and soon was flat and twisted from pouncing and spread and fluffed up wings, collecting the loosened blades and housed them like a collection - oh course, she never cared what twigs got stuck where just as long as they didn't hurt.

Ku'i was without purpose unlike the young godling that she would soon bound into. Not yet heading the call of her domain, or finding those in need, the black goddess was finding time with her own freedom outside the lands of her birthplace and her mother before she headed back for a much needed family time. So for now, it was chasing a little grasshopper that had caught her eye some ways back and was kind enough to put its life on the line, just as long as he wasn't stomped on which Ku'i was trying her hardest not to do. "You're getting tired aren't you ~" She teased, taking a turn to the left as he slowed down and not even really expecting a response - she wasn't she sure it knew what she was even doing but she liked to think it was.

"We can take a break if you-," She continued, grin upon her face as her purple eyes took a brief glance up to see where she was heading. And caused her to stop, gaze still forward as her legs came to a halt, raising dust all around her. Ku'i blinked, grasshopper chirping in freedom and now forgotten. Now, that was an interesting looking creature over there, an antelope? But with wings? "Ooh ooo, interesting!" Glee came to her voice, unnecessarily loud as well.

Palahala stopped in his tracks as soon as he heard the giggling laugh. His large doe like eyes glanced about wildly in search of the creature that the noise. Not that it was an un-pleasent noise, it was a happy one, one full of youth and happiness that even he could recognize.

Blinking owlishly as the young goddess came to a halt he twitched his bat like wings and stood in a rather spread eagled manner trying to maintain the calm feeling. He knew if he panicked the herd would rush off stampeding.

Taking a deep breath he tried carefully to turn his lips in to a smile. Wo knew who this goddess was, she could have been a threat. If she was he could run and the herd would flee with him. If she wasn't, well it would be nice to meet another young god, he knew so few and he had been lucky so far in his breif meetings.

"HH..Hello." he stuttered, scolding himself a little for sounding frightened, he was supposed to be brave, protecter of a herd, protecter of prey beasts every where, not frightened little stuttering goddling.

Ku'i's heart was pounding in her ears, body still feeling the rush of adrenaline from the chase and now fueling the excitement that passed through her as she stared wide eyed at the other god before her. That small pause between stopping and his greeting was just enough, it was a god! Another one like herself, young and not from her own family. Someone knew, and it was enough to cause the glee in her eyes to grow wider and her little form to shake all over.

"Hi!" Ku'i exclaimed loudly, not minding the herd nearby, all she cared about was the prospect of a new friend. It took effort for her not to pounce on him when she gathered herself up - wings spread out as well - and she bounded over, twigs dust galore. "I'm Ku'i Ku'oko'a! Wow, you have really cool wings, kind of like my sister but not as fuzzy and oo! Two horns! Another one of my sisters has a neat black one on her head and stuff. But you have two.. and hooves, you're like an antelope ~ but like a bat too!" Amazingly, that was all in one breathe, rambled and crammed together. She was still shaking from excitement, slowly calming down but her big violet eyes were still as wide as ever and bordering on crazed. Twigs in the wings didn't help, oh her first impressions never were very good... one day she'd learn but today wasn't it.

Palahala looked to the excited female, blinking quietly, watching her hoping that maybe she would calm down. She reminded him of his brother, always on the go always looking and searching, but he did not feel afraid of her, she was not his brother after all, this was not predator.

"Greetings." He whispered bowing his head a little, though her happiness was at least a little catching and his antelope like tail flickered back and forth and his lips turned in to a wayward whispery smile. "My name is Palahala..uhm..you have very pretty wings too.." He manages trying to find a compliment in his vocabulary to give to her, of course the fact that she was full of twigs and grasses and smelled of the open world, made him feel rather relaxed.

"Do you live around here? I was just visiting this herd" he whispers his voice gentle and quiet soothing almost to anyones ear.

"Oh?" Ku'i blinked, turning her pale purple gaze to her own wings as they spread a little for inspection. "They're nothing special really, and they are a bit dirty and stuff but it shows my roads of travel!" She wore twigs like trophies sometimes, well before she went through the grueling ritual of trying to get them all nice and pretty again. The little goddess was sure she still had dirty and dead things that had mingled in from even her home. And besides, everyone she knew, who had wings, had wings like hers. His were different and really neat. But Ku'i turned back to the god, all the smiles still present, wings closing once again.

"Palahala, huh? That's a neat name too, it's almost like mine with all the vowels making a nice little rhythm to it. Like a song or something." She nodded vigorously, pleased that he was at least talking or at least supplying her with topics that she could draw off of and ramble on about. And the way he talked, at least. It sounded nice, like the type that would always keep her smile permanently planted upon her face.

"You're visiting a herd?" She blinked then, glancing a little around to see what he was talking about, spotting a few antelope near them. Ku'i blinked a little more, "Oh hey, why are visiting a herd? Do you do it often?" She questioned, curious about his goals with doing such a task, and for someone so young. Was it his job or something? "We don't have herds where I'm from," The goddess continued in an almost attempt at his other inquiry about her. "I'm from a valley foresty place with a lot of pretty waterfalls. I haven't been back in a while, but maybe soon to see if mama is still there and stuff. I kind of miss them, you know?" She giggled, feeling a little awkward for stating something of the nature.

Lots of Vowls? He never really thought about it before, he supposed it did, he almost laughed at the thought, knowing what his name meant always gave him a smile "My mother named me well." He replies finding it very easy to speak to the bubbly lady.

The hoofed god smiled wistfully as he looked around at the antelope that grazed peacefully. "I am the god of prey," he stated this part with a certain raise in his voice that sounded remarkably like pride in what he was and what he did, he loved those whom fell in to his domain "I feel most comfortable around them." He smiled again turning his attention back to the goddess whom stood and spoke in such a cheery manner he couldn't help but relax his muscles. She wasn't here to hurt him or hunt him or those around him, she was simply interested in who he was.

"Oh? No herds, thats a shame but it sounds very beautiful." He tilts his head a little feeling the curiosity of youth creeping in to his cautious mind. It was perhaps a good thing that he did not know the phrase 'curiosity killed the cat' it certainly would have made him more weary about the whole situation.

"I met a goddess in a place that was very watery she had a black face and wings of feathers." He raked his mind for her name, he had followed a herd of water buffalo on it's migratory route and they had passed through a place of dense green and shimmering beauty. "Her name escapes me I'm afraid" he flushed a little sometimes he could be so single minded in his tasks that things like names got away. "Do you have brothers and sisters? I have four. We are all, very, VERY different."

"I think mothers are meant to name us well, they are our mothers after all ~" Where else would they obtain their names? Well, perhaps from their fathers but... Ku'i had never met hers and the subject seemed to upset her mother as it was, so it was never really brought up. Regardless, there was still the smile plastered on the goddess' face as she watched the god. He was a little different than most she had come across, but it was to be expected ... it would be boring if anyone was the same. But, he was the first male she had come across that wasn't her brother so it was nice to see that not all boys were as weird as they were.

But, they were still early in meeting, things could take a turn later. And this one seemed so insightful, wise and at peace with things. Maybe it was his domain or here where they were, Ku'i herself looked around at the flatness. The fields, it was different... not a bad different but at least different. Her feathers ruffled as she turned back to him with her head cocked to the side. "Prey? That's a neat domain, I'm Liberty ~ they seem like they could be similar sometimes I think, since you know.. you kind of want to free the poor things from the predators sometimes, you know? Though... others things have to eat..." The black goddess trailed off, frowning slightly as the now present thought came up to her mind again. Now that she was on her own, thinking of her duty this little conflict kept arising about this whole liberty thing... like what was the right choice.

Ku'i shook her head, now was not the time to think about such things really, and thankfully the conversation drifted along. "It is," she nodded jumping back to her normal mood, "especially when the rains finally came back. It was so dry, like when I was born that a lot of the lions in the area sadly left or died. But things are getting better and its green again. That doesn't mean herds though, I think hooved creatures would have a hard time in the inner areas.. though I dunno." She shrugged her shoulders, unsure really. For all she knew, lots of animals lived in the Mister Weaver's area.

"I met a goddess in a similar place like this ~ it had a bit more water and flowers and stuff ... but I don't remember her name either. Perhaps they didn't make good impressions and stuff? But, maybe if we run into them again sometime then we can remember their names!" Ku'i nodded, giggling slightly over his flushed expression. It reminded her a little bit of Kimbi. "Four huh? I have seven ~" The little goddess practically boasted. "We're not too different, well in looked but we kind of butt heads a lot when it came to certain things."

The young god gave a little chuckle, he couldn't help looking at the happy little goddess and feeling a happiness wash over him. Of course where they stood helped to, amongst the herds he felt most safe, most secure, most free. Here he was king so to speak it was a place that his brother couldn't hurt.

"Yes liberating my friends is something I like to do, not all believe me though, being young is a curse sometimes. When I am older I believe other will believe me more." He gazed around at the large herd and swished his tail in a very antelope like manner. "I have a herd, in a secret place where no predator can harm them, but I know there must always be prey in the outside world for other need to eat, it's a part of the circle of life even if it is not a part I like."

"Your den must be huge." Palahala gave a small chuff of a giggle his smile spreading further. "It's hard to get in to ours with mother and my other siblings, though I don't spend much time there. My sister Chuck is really the only one I truly get along with, she doesn't frighten me." he paused for a moment "My father has a very important domain and many think he is frightening but he only does what he is supposed to. He isn't really frightening at all." The little god looks deeply thoughtful before turning his gaze back upon Ku'i "Would you like to see my herd? i think you would like it."
