So it's finally out and I have to say I was surprised. After hearing Cyanide and The Day That Never Comes and the news of an Unforgiven 3, I was expecting another shitty album from a band that should have quit years ago. But I was wrong. They did an alright job at making an album more like the old ones. They even have an instrumental like the old albums. My only complaint is that Kirk's solos aren't that amazing but all in all I think it's better than United Abominations from Megadeth.
So what do you guys think of it?

We have the WOLF by the ears and we can not keep him......
Kuzoku : it was good, but definatley not there best. personally i feel United Abominations was better than Death Magnetic
nor can we safely let him go... -Thomas Jefferson, Missouri Compromise.

I loved the new album, they can never get back to the old "big 4" sound though. But I've loved every Metallica album, and they have been a huge influence on my guitar playing, hence why I have the M Ninja Star tatted on my left forearm smile

It 's probably 4th on my list for Metallica albums... 1. Kill 'Em All 2. Master of Puppets 3. Ride the Lightning 4. Death Magnetic I put it that high up because it takes their mainstream upbeat new Metallica stuff and fuses it with their old thrashy stuff, which gives it this unique and altogether awesome sound...
