I'm making a list of what I'm going to buy for building my lolita wardrobe, where to buy it, and how much it will all cost.
For the petticoat, I've heard wonderful things about Inthestarlight's 'Poof Petticoat', and as far as lolita brands go, the $38 is cheap.
So then I come across bloomers. And I have a few questions...
-When peeping from underneath the skirt, do they really add a super special little kick that just makes the outfit "wow"? Or is it just a subtle touch that an outfit can do fine without?
-They look super easy to make. Any specific patterns/fabric/detailing I should use/do? Are they as simple to make as they look??
I plan on buying the underthings FIRST, so I'm not tempted to try and wear my skirts without the proper poof and underthings. Is this a good idea?

Personaly I hate it when bloomers are showing a bit D: I find it tacky but some people like it.
They are very very easy to make!! For fabrics anything goes really. I have bloomers made out of fleece to cotton. They arent really going to show XD I have made bright orange bloomers (with a big infinty sign on the bum) and wear them a lot. For patterns there are some commercial ones and I think the 3rd issue of the english GL&B has a bloomer pattern. You can make bloomers as simple or as complicated as you want.
I love bloomers n.n
its a very good idea to get proper understuff D: since it can be the thing that messes up a cute outfit.

In my opinion, bloomers aren't really meant to be seen...that said, if you live in a windy area and are not into the boystyle aspect of lolita fashion, it is very handy when your skirts/jsks/op/whathave you decide to pull a monroe on you.
Also, it's a nice touch if your into ero loli as well. biggrin

I have the ITS poof petticoat, and it's great. Hasn't lost a bit of its poof yet, and it's been almost a year.
As for bloomers, some people like them peeking out, others don't. I, myself, like to keep them covered. It's all up to your personal preference.
