This a course for people who want to learn a little about the theory of and behind making comics. It is an advanced course here and deals with such lovely topics as craft, production of comics, and anything that I think is relevant. All of these lectures will be done in comics form with examples from various comics to show what I'm talking about here. The purpose of this course is to start discussions on the medium of comics themselves and possibly get you to think a little differently about comics.
I will state outright however that these are my personal theories and ideas on what makes a good comic and what makes a less interesting comic. This is how I think about comics and I'm merely sharing it with you.
Recommended (though optional) reading for this course is
Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud
Comics & Sequential Art and Graphic Storytelling by Will Eisner
These two essays Inventing Comics and The Perfect Planet by Dylan Horrocks
I will post my first comics essay this Friday. I hope that everyone will join me and help with the discussion.
