All of the sought after invitations for the Fifth World Fighting Tournament have been sent and now the 17 best fighters in the world begin their final phases of preparation. They must learn from their prior mistakes and perfect every aspect of their mind, body, and soul - for there is no room for mistakes in this competition. Little do they know that J6, the organization funding the tournament, has sinister ulterior motives for the contest and the company's top secret Dural program is already well underway. In the organization's quest for world domination, the scientists at J6 are creating the ultimate fighting machine with human features. Their first model was defeated in the Fourth World Fighting Tournament, which drove them to kidnap Vanessa. She was able to escape with the help of an insider, but not before they captured her combat data and transferred it to the new advanced Dural model named V-Dural.
J6 is determined to find out who the inside traitor is that released Vanessa and more importantly, if V-Dural is indeed ready to defeat the world's best fighters. The Fifth World Fighting Tournament will reveal both - let it begin.

The game has a good number of characters to choose from and the CG art is rather fantastic and very nice. The characters look awesome and the graphics aren't that bad either. It's a 1-2 player game. (x-box has that you can play vs online only)
It includes arcade mode, quest mode, vs, dojo (training).
Arcade is like your typical arcade fighting game where you fight against a series of CPU fighters and become champion of a tournament. Vs of course is fighting against Co-op or online.
Quest Mode is the unique part of this game for me. You choose one character and create a profile. Then you only use that one character in a mini...quest mode kind of game. A series of 'arcades' a presented on a map and you can choose where to go (the arcades are seperated by lvl like beginnner advanced or sometimes mixed.)
As you vs CPU controlled characters and sometimes partisipate in specially held tournaments you gain money and can purchase items such as costumes/accesories ect...sometiems even win items from battles with other players. (This part of the game is all CPU controled and not online so its fun! I got confused at first but its NOT ONLINE)
The only online part of the game is VS mode. Where you can either vs a friend at home or vs online if you'd like.
My Critics:
It was fustrating at first to be honest. Arcade mode wasn't fun at all in my opinion. It was just fighting one person after another and each character had 2 ending poses. I really didn't see much of a story in it either when I was playing arcade mode. And since this is my first virtua fighter game I was disappointed to see teh character had no ending movie. Which was a bummer so I think the characters aren't really developed as well somewhat. Also, the battle fighting style defiantly takes a while to get used to. If not done right or sometimes even it doesn't flow as well as other advanced fighting games. When a character gets hit too they tend to fall flat on the floor in a hard tump instead of a more realistic way.
For me I was expecting something a little better since Its a x-box 360 game I have and since they could do so much with it.. and how the cover and art look...guess I was expecting a lot.
Character fighting style...is also OK for me. I don't really like some of the characters the one I am currently trying out is Aoi and she's fun to play but the others are a little boring somewhat.
Rate: 6/10
I'm judging the x-box version by the way!
The graphic is alright but doens't look too amazing. They could have done better for a x-box game I think. But on the other hand, their CG work is plainly magnificent! It was fustrating to fight but then again it was OK in the end. There isn't much complication to the fighting system just three buttons I really use which are punch, kick, guard which is....very little.
Otherwise, I recently got this game the other day and its OK so far on the whole.I was disappointed at first but after giving it a few hours I liked "Quest Mode" the most and find that's the only part of the game I actually like. The chracters are OK the only one I like so far is AOi however. So I gave it a low rate b/c the only fun part was Quest mode.
What I do like about the graphics is how they make some parts realistic. When in a cold place you can see cold breath coming from chracters which looks like their breathing. Then the water on the floor is pretty good for graphics. The characters in battle look neat...just the fighting and fall. But when hit hard they actually react right which looks good.
