Behold, a topic meant for the potential gathering of the Guild members. As far as topic goes it doesn't really matter. Just as long as members are communicating. It can either be on the current RP's, current news, or something you just want to shout out biggrin

Well if you wanted to go all out, I think it might be GrAWR.

Cool, thanks for starting this thread. It's kinda weird if I start it. Like the teacher sitting down with the students and saying, "So, homies, what's shaking? Ya dig?"

Is anyone else watching Fringe? I haven't got a chance to see it yet, but I've loved everything JJ Abrams has done, so I have high hopes. It seems an awful lot like X-files, though. Only a tad less dark...like it wasn't filmed in someone's closet.

Oh, and never date an actress. Seriously. In case any of you were thinking about doing that. No. Bad idea.

xd No worries for me there, I don't think I'll ever want to date an actress.

Ah, and if anyone knows a good book on anatomy for a person-who's-never-taken-drawing-lessons-or-any-kind-of-study-that-would-help-improve-her-drawing-skills, that'd be quite helpful.

"The Big Book of Human Anatomy and by human anatomy I mean MALE anatomy if you catch my drift wink-wink, nudge-nudge, saynomore" by Leonardo DaVinci. Great book.

I have a friend who's getting back into roleplaying so I was thinking about getting him an invite. His name is The Bowl of Fish. Is that okay?

And James, you shouldn't feel like a teacher per say, more like a GM of a gaming group. It's what you are. It's not like you went to school for 4 years and went through a qualification process and are now teaching kids that are half your age. Most of us are adults here, so you shouldn't feel outside of the group in anyway.

Also I think the best way to learn how to draw is get friends that can draw better than you. You get all the free critiquing and lessons you can get, plus you can borrow their books ^^ One of my best friends is an artist, his girlfriend is an artist, and a friend of mine that I will be rooming with soon is also an artist. I draw something (poorly mind you) and she tells me what to do to make it look better. I went from really crappy drawings to almost decent ^_^

Other than that the how to draw manga anatomy book is pretty good. It's got quick reference pics for different angles and contortions and stuff and isn't overly cartoon-y like a lot of manga books are. That's a pretty good one and you can probably get it pretty easily on Amazon...

Well, I already asked my friends to teach to draw and such but they were either very modest/greatly underestimating their own skills/greatly overestimating my skills (e.g. "ARE YOU NUTS?! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO TEACH SOMEONE BETTER THAN ME?!" or "Er, I'm not that good at drawing. I think you should ask *insert name* instead.").

Hmm, I'll try looking that book up but I was looking for a more 'general' anatomy book than one more specialized about mangas.

The manga anatomy book is pretty good though. A friend of mine had a pretty good anatomy book for drawing; I'll have to ask him about it.

And it sounds like you're better than me ^^() I don't think anyone has ever said I'm better than they were at drawing.. c.c Well my one friend said I can draw a profile face better than she could... but I don't think that counts... c.c

Rakinu, you can go ahead and send him an invite if you like. Or he can just fill out an application and send it in. I check our applications every time I log in, so he'll be approved pretty quickly.

And I'm very poor at drawing. All I ever drew were annie mays, though. But even in art class, I was never a top student. My brother (Scias Eligos), though...I've always been impressed with his creativity and skill.

My biggest problem is my constant attempt to draw things I know I'm not good enough to draw yet.. >.< There's a couple of poses that I can draw pretty well, but I never settle on them. It always needs to be more dynamic, or more technique intensive than I can manage... And recently, even though I suck with hands, I've been drawing pictures where the hands are an important part of the picture and closer to the "front" of the picture than usual. >.<

I think he'll be sending an application. I sent him a link to the guild home so he could fill it out. He seemed pretty impressed with it so far.
