Hurricane Ike remnants passed thru our part of the country really hard on Sunday- trees, utility poles, wires down in 3 adjacent states- electric is still out all over the place. I am one of the lucky ones- I got electric back at 11:07last night- only out for 44 hours. Long enough outage to spoil everything in the refrig and freezer.
And whoever heard of a gas stove with an electric starter? Well, my apartment has one of them- so no cooking either.
If I see one peanut butter sandwich in the next 6 months I will barf. Tohma isn't as lucky as me, she won't have power at college till Saturday they say.
So- anyone else affected by the hurricane? How are you coping with the aftermath?

Mama, can you please do me a favor.....I have not heard from my parents or grandparents. I have tried to call, of cousre with no luck. I heard from a friend in West Chester and two in Dayton. But you are close enough to my dads pizza shop on Rt. 4. Can you stop in and see how things are for me?

Talked to Lloyd at Cassano's Pizza King and all is well- Carole? is up from Virginia and they are all taking turns helping your grandparents. He will get in touch with you by phone or IM tomorrow- Thursday...

Texas wasn't really hit that bad,mostly the coastal cities and houston. San antonio had the usual Bright, Sunny and 97 degree day.

I live in kentucky and we got hit by some strong winds that knocked our power out sunday. I have power now but still some places ain't got no power.

We got power back after about 44 hours- but lost it again for just a little while last night... Alls back for me but there are still 200000 homes without power in Greater Cincinnati, N Ky and SE Indiana
