 I just had a rare event item pop up on my screen which led me to this discussion. How many of you have gotten a rare event item? This is my first time ever. I heard that they can usually be sold in the marketplace for a lot of gold. The item I got is dried grass skirt. I don't know how rare it is because I just got it while I was making a topic. I think this item is kinda unique. I haven't seen many avatars dressed up in a grass skirt but then I've only been on gaia for a short time. Which items have you gotten, if any, and what did you think of that item?

I just now found out that the "rare item" I had wasn't worth much at all. It was a fluke. Hopefully I'll get more rare items.

I'm assuming your item came in a box?
The items in the box are pretty variable.. they can be nearly anything!
But pink boxes are the rarest, blue second rarest.
The boxes themselves can be sold.
And the same goes for enchanted trunks(golden trunks being rarest, right?)
They work in a similar way that the Bag of Win, Infinity Hat, and the OMG box work.

This box was floating around my gaia page and it said something like "rare event! click here before it is gone!" and it was a floating gift box. I don't think it was either blue or pink.

Ah, it was probably brown *nods* Those don't always have good things in them... at least you got something you can wear (and you can totally wear it if there's another hawaiian/tropical dress up day on HPgoG.. next year? XP). I've gotten completely useless things like oil barrells which is worth about 1g. Or less XP.

I hate opening a pink box and getting crap, it sucks and makes the rest of my day bad. I hold onto my boxes for a day when i'm really bored, then i open them up and it's like Christmas!

I've never gottena pink box. I've only gotten the wooden trunk, and blue box. I've always sold them as is because I don't want to risk getting some cheap item I wouldn't want.

I've gotten 2 blue boxes. Both had ok things in them, but not great.

I have never gotten anything worth bothering with out of those boxes. Truthfully, the items were crap!
