This time, he didn't know he had to work xD

He was about an hour late. I made it through a dinner rush by myself o_o

Worked 9 hours on monday.

Yeah, I've done that before. That's why I liked the pork plant. Monday to Friday 7:00-3:30. Nice and predictable.

I've also done the 9 hour shift... and ten hour shifts. I liked the ten hour shifts though, because usually they'd have me doing something new for the extra two hours. (oh, and these hours are BEFORE regular start time, so 6:00 and 5:00 in the morning) I didn't like the ten hour shift when they put me in dumpers though. That sucked. I hate that box chute mad Every thirty seconds I banged my head on that darn thing. Thank goodness for hard hats!

Way to get through the dinner rush!

Once while working at carls jr's I worked from 10am to 2am.

A couple of co-workers at the time weren't doing their job and we got a random visit from the owners daughter who fired them on the spot and took over. She gave me a break and asked me if I planned on staying to help out. I quickly said yes in fear I was going to be a 3rd one fired xD

... that's a long shift. I would've said no even with the fear of getting fired. I would've explained my situation (shift = done), apologized, and maybe came in the next morning to see if everything is done.

But I might've said yes due to the extra money I'd get...

yeah, but she's scary and not someone I would say no to. She called the General Manager in too to come work. He was pretty unhappy but was pretty happy with me staying there.

I stood up to a lot of scary people at the pork plant. There was one guy I was absolutely terrified of, but I still fought back. I lost... but at least I put up a fight. Most people wouldn't have even bothered, so I got a few pats on the back just for trying.

I yelled at my supervisor on many occasions. I believe I won all of those ones wink Of course, I knew I was right before I even said anything. And it was only after the box accident that I really found out that I had a spine. I couldn't stand bullshit anymore... still can't really. I used to be so tolerant of everything people would stand there in awe that I would let some things happen without even flinching.

Only a few times have I bit my tongue lately, but only because I knew it was for the best lol (like my bf's friend's gf basically said I was fat... like really fat... and I almost pointed out the fact that she's easily 50 pounds more than I am... and shorter too. But I realized that pissing her off would eventually come back to haunt me in the future.)

Yeah, I don't really see any point in taking s**t from co-workers.

I've gotten to the point to where I just tell them to shut up and go back to doing their work and don't come near the pit unless they need something.

o_O what a b***h. I think you're skinnier than I am.

Most of the people I yelled at at the pork plant were actually supervisors... or Human Resources... or some other person of higher authority. xd

And I'm not skinny. I'm overweight. But not REALLY overweight. She basically said I was clinically obese. stare

Oh.

Well, you know my moto.

If a guy truly loves you and respects you, then he wont care about how your body looks.

Who said that had anything to do with a guy? I mean, it did... but it was beside the point lol. She was just trying to piss me off and it didn't work because I saw through it... even as drunk as I was at the time.

But back to the point of this thread...

It's bad when a coworker shows up late for their shift, but it's REALLY bad when it's the manager. Hocrap that sends everyone into a weird state of mind. Everyone challenges everything.

Oh man, I know.

It's only happened to me once, but it seriously changes the mood of everyone.

For some weird reason, people think just cause the manager is late that they'll get away with s**t even though it wont matter at all.

It's only happened to me a couple times - and only at Pizza Hut. My manager didn't have a lot of control over the workers to begin with, so when she came late all hell was loose!
