Slowly but surely now that she was settled within the lands, the young, very small lioness had started to fill out. Her ribs were no longer visible and her chest bone had vanished beneath muscle and fat. She had hardly grown though, she was born a runt and knew that she would always be small, but that didn't stop her from being cocky and willing to do anything. She was determined that one day she would be a warrior and so she set herself the task to train out of hours.

She knew she was fairly near the border as she ran along and she paused to look out, her ice blue eyes looking around for anything or anyone whom might be trespassing. Not that it was her place to stop trespassers but if she could kick some butt, even little butt,s he could go back and have bragging rights over others. She was determined, despite her size to be the best.

Midnight walked in the middle of the day, dancing from light patch to light patch, marring the beauty of the sun's rays. Gold shimmered as a counter-light to the deep black that seemed to languidly walk over the grasslands, flashing each time the wind blew the inky blackness of mane around.

Inzondo-mnyama had come far from where he'd originally been born, his paws never ceasing ot move though they knew of no destination to cease themselves. Surely a place didn't exist that would welcome him with open arms, a broken cannibal that still had the intense urge to rip flesh from bone in a savage manner. Only the words of his long deceased mate would keep him from cleaving skin more than once a day and kept the meat of such from reaching his tongue. Too many lions had fallen prey to his crushing blows over the past few years, though he spoke little of all those he killed, deep in his mind Inzo respected them all for being able to even hold a candle to him.

The black lion was a wraith, skinny as a skeleton from years of living as his cheetah father had taught him before he and his brother Okoth had eaten him alive. Never had he used the power he had in his body to take down prey, only to fight. Inzo could run faster than a normal lion because he'd toned his body after years to be used to that sort of life. The large body was too thin and lanky, spine and ribs sticking out where his mane ended and his hips prominent, yet he didn't feel hungry. After all he'd eaten earlier that day.

Suddenly his black paws stopped, head lifting up and gold swaying before eyes the color of rose that never saw the world with a rosey tinge. Inzondo could smell others, a pride. It was the barrier to another pride. Thoughts swirled in his head of going in and seeing what he could find, but he'd gotten a nasty scar on his belly the LAST time his mind had thoughts like this. Maybe avoidance was best, but his paws kept him moving all the same.

The tiny bright blue lioness peered through the long grasses at the approaching goliath. Perhaps a cub with sense would have turned and fled and though she had some sense it was deep rooted in that her size didn't matter, that she could do anything, that she could take down anyone, that she would one day be a warrior.

The sense knew one day she did not, so without a moments hesitation she padded forwards her small head held high and her ice blue eyes fixed on the dark male. "Hey you!" She called her voice wispery, tiny, extremely child like, she sounded like a little blue angel who's voice was borrowed from the heavens.

"Hey, who are you? I don't know you!" She sat, directly in his path, a petite frail looking lioness, not old or large enough to stand up to a large bug let alone a male lion.

If it wasn't for the fact that she was smaller and clearly about the age of a cub if not a little older, Inzondo-mnyama would have walked right by her without even gazing over to her to see what she was yammering on about. All lionesses seemed interested in was talking.

However, because she was a cub, the large dark lion stopped and looked down at her through half intrested rose eyes and sat down before her. The thing was tiny, her colors so bright that she stood out like a peacock in the middle of a dark forest.

"What makes you think you can ask a question of me little thing?" Inzo asked, rocks rolled in his harsh voice. It sounded as though his voice was rarely used at all, a croak where the little lioness had a whispery, almost angelic voice.

Of course Inzondo rarely did use his voice, but that wasn't the reason for the horrible lilt that fractured it.

Galanthus peered up at the large lion, her gaze never weavering, she was confident in her skills, even if she really didn't have any. "Cause this is the pride I live in and I am a mighty warrioress who protects it's borders!" She puffed out her tiny weak looking chest, this action would seemingly make her bones burst through her thing fur but it did not so she simply sat trying to look larger.

She of course was completely failing to mention the fact that she was not a warrior yet, she simply had great aspirations to become one.

"And who are you calling little thing? My name is Galanthus'Nivalis, can't you ell I am a warrior? Size doesn't count for everything you know?" She huffed.

Rose colored eyes burned down into the ice colored eyes of the small juvenile before him. She was certainly fiery for all that she was just a tiny thing.

"Such a large name for a little lioness. Haven't you heard that the longer the name the more overcompensation there is to the being?" Inzo sneered a little, watching her carefully.

A warrior she said? If all of the warriors in this pride were tiny imps like this one then he was certainly in the wrong place for a fight but in the right place for some relaxation. There would be no interesting battles in this pride if they were such tiny lions but if they could hold no candle to his fighting skills then he could beat them all and relax at least for a few months in comfort before he considered taking up the northern general on his offer.

Being a ranking officer in a pride had it's perks.

(( Stepping in for Nel with Pyralis. ))

User Image If Inzo was expecting all of the pride's warriors to be 'little things', the Firekin-blooded and well-taken-care-of bulk of muscle known as Pyralis would come as a surprise.

He'd been allowed his break to drink from the pridal spring to keep from suffering any bought of dehydration that might have tried to summon itself upon him before it hindered his 'job'... which upon his return to the borders of the lands seemed to be...... being 'substituted' currently with the sight of a little lioness who seemed to be out of her proper place....

and another lion of his own dark fur, though from what he could tell, of smaller size.

A problem indeed.

But he wasted no time in playing mediator to loom in the background of the scene, slowly approaching and sitting down right behind the little 'Warrior', sitting up straight and frowning at the 'visitor' (or was he an invader?) to their lands.

"Now what have you attracted, straggler?" Pyralis asked to the icy-colored juvenile, implying that she wasn't where she was supposed to be, though his attention was focused on the lion who was most definitely larger than her by comparison.

Ice blue eyes went wide as she looked up at the very large, very dark Pyralis. She blinked owlishly her tiny blue ears flopping backwards as she took in the situation.

the male behind her smelled of the pride, she could tell those of the pride, they had that, mountainous scent about them, wheer as the one before her was something else, she had stopped the intruder!

"I was uhm," She blinked and looked for an excuse to have strayed away from her travelling companion. "I'm protecting the borders!" She grinned it was a good enough excuse and she puffed out her ever so tiny chest, she was so slight of body that this only made her look more bony, more fragile.

"I'm a warrior you know." She announced rather proudly, though these were of course but pipe dreams of a child, her size would never permit her in to the gates of warriordom, any way, she would at least pretend it for now, make believe was a part of a child's growing up after all.

Looking to Inzo she pursed her lips and wriggled her toes in the dirt, the distinct feeling that she had perhaps bitten off more than she could chew with this new arrival made her white bits turn a definite shade of pink, she edged to one side, warrior at heart she certainly was, but she knew full well she couldn't come between these two Goliath's without getting hurt.

She had to live and become big then one day she would be a warrior, one day.

((Don't worry. I'll end this now since it's an issue large enough to warrant a third party post.))

Of course he saw the other as he walked up, a lion that stank of the Firekin bloodlines as much as his own blood boiled of them. He was marred, so a fighter. It was a shame that lions like this came out of the woodwork to offer their chivalrey to young lionesses when it was apparent that he wasn't going to do anything to her other than a light conversation.

Cubs were Inzo's weak point after all.

"Well little one, unwanted company has come into view and seems to want your attention more than I."

A simple statement of bluntness that in a way was a slap to the other large lion's muzzle. What did Inzo care? He was lithe and despite a few scars from all the fights he'd been in over the years he bore very few visible proof that he was a terrible lion to tussle with. If it came down to it he could use the speed he'd gotten through starvation and years of teaching from his cheetah father that adopted himself and Okoth so many years ago.

Yet he would avoid it all because of Riikiia.

Turning before he could give the other the satisfaction of 'running him off' and adding that as a page to his obvious ego, Inzondo-mnyama trotted off the pridal lands, back the way he'd come in and past the scent of so many marks. He didn't need a pride and he certainly didn't need the attentions of a lion that intruded on conversations between two capable lions already.

Rudeness...

The black lion seemed to meld with the shadows on the savannah as he trotted away from the ice colored lioness that pricked his intrest with her fiery temper. He'd have to find a way to see that little whip again.
