"Why me?" Dyani muttered, following the bouncy child to make sure he didn't get himself in trouble. Or hurt. Or killed for that matter. Why couldn't Aponi have dealt with the little 'bundle of joy?' She seemed more patient with that sort of thing. Dyani was about to chew her own tail off if it would get her out of this sort of duty. Makya, however, was completely oblivious to his 'watcher's' irritation. The child was fascinated by every single item in sight. Especially things that moved or made noise. Of course, at this point, everything was still new to the child and each new sight was a new discovery. He bounded along, finally getting his feet tangled up with his tail and taking a spectacular crash landing into the ground.

"Come on slow poke!" Peridot half whined to her blue companion. "You said we could play in the... meadow! What ever that is." She muttered the last part and stamped her foot impatiently. Peridot was with Augustus, the young male who lived with her. "I'm coming, I'm coming. I wouldn't be so slow if you kept a better eye on your purple thing." Augustus was several paces behind the impatient girl, being pestered by the purple kitty that followed Peridot."He likes you. That's all." It was so simple in Peridot's mind. Not that Augustus really minded too much. But he had to give her a hard time. "Hey! I see someone over there!" Peridot suddenly squealed, forgetting about seeing this 'meadow' thing, and started to run towards who she saw."Wait for me!" Augustus stumbled over the cat before running after the girl. "You're such a brat Peri!"

"Alright, kid...I told you not to run around like that, but you just couldn't listen, could you?" Frowning, Dyani used a gentle paw to roll the small Wini over on his back to check him for injuries. "You're alright, aren't you? Not hurt?"
Makya sniffled, simply lying curled on his back for a moment. His nose hurt! Pawing at it for a moment, he suddenly let out a powerful sneeze. Eww...dirt in the nose wasn't fun!
Dyani had to hold back a chuckle, even as she dodged the sneeze and shielded herself with a paw. "And now we have a new lesson for the day. Don't eat dirt. Doesn't taste good, and makes you sneeze if you shove it up your nose."
The adult Wini's ear twitched then, and she glanced up to see two Winis...children by the size of them, approaching the pair. One looked...a bit familiar...

Peridot hadn't mastered stopping, and skidded in the loose dirt a little as she tried to slow down so as to not run into the pair. Augustus would almost never master stopping, and ran into Peridot, putting them both in a heap near the older wini's feet. After some growls and struggling, Peridot was on her feet, pinning Augustus down. "Hi!" She said happily, as if nothing odd had happened just now.
"Get off me you sea cow!" Augustus pushed Peridot off before looking up to see a familiar female. "I know you!" He mused. "Have my eggplants helped you?"
Peridot had already lost interest in and sniffed at the stripped boy who was on his back before she tried to pounce his tail.

Dyani peered down at the pair for a moment in bewilderment as they untangled their limbs. Again...that one looked familiar...wait...
The mention of 'eggplants' did it, and she couldn't hold back a chuckle at the memory. "Why yes, yes they have. Thank you." Leaning down to look him in the face, she smiled. "I see you have a err...'friend' today. What are you two doing out here by yourselves?"
Makya wasn't sure what to make of these strange new arrivals. They were loud, bouncy things though and he liked that! Wasn't too fond of the sniffing though, as he flinched away from the other. What was she doing? He was about to ask when she jumped! With a squeak and a scramble, Makya pulled his tail away and fumbled to get upright, hugging his tail to himself. "Mine! Not yours! Mine!!!"

Augustus smiled, plopping his butt down heavily. "I'm glad!" his tail curled around him as he gave a faint purr. He had helped someone! His human would be proud. "We were going out to play... Oh! This is Peridot. She lives with my human." Augustus nodded sage-like.
Peridot tilted her head at the boy's reaction. "Aaaaw, you won't even share?" She turned slightly to wiggle her green nubby little tail. "See, I can't play with my own very well... Yours looked like fun- like mommy's tail." As she spoke, her familiar reappeared and began buzzing about Peridot and the boy until Peridot grabbed it by an ear with her teeth. "Wanna play?"

Dyani nodded, listening to Augustus. "I see. Yes, I suppose I have a friend of my own today. Makya here just joined our own little family...another one who lives with our human anyway. So...you came to play? It seems Peridot has already found someone to play with now." She chuckled, lying down for a well-needed rest after chasing Makya around all morning.
Frowning, Makya shook his head and held his tail closer, even after the long explanation. "No, mine." However, the sight of this new flying thing made his eyes widen. He jumped and squeaked when Peridot grabbed it out of the air. Forgetting his earlier concern about his tail, he let it go to lean forward and stare at the flying thing the girl had. "Hey...wuzzat?" His head was tilted curiously. He knew Dyani had one of those things, but he'd never asked her about it. Also, he didn't know other kids could have them!

Peridot thought a moment. "This... this is..." She wondered what to call it. "This is my toy thing. He's kind of chewy, and keeps an eye on me so I don't get hurt. Want to see him?" She asked, still holding it down. The poor familiar was squeaking, a little afraid of being a play thing for 2. He tolerated Peridot, but a strange winiko?
Augustus nodded. "I heard from my human that more like me had appeared. She sounded really happy." Augustus nodded. His human sure did like talking about all the Winis. "Oh hey! You're not talking as softly as you were the first time I saw you. I'm happy that you're speaking to me all normal like." He hoped that wasn't rude sounding. But how else would he say that?

Makya tilted his head the other way now, still studying the strange Wini and her 'toy.' "Dyani got one too," he finally muttered, leaning in to sniff the familiar gently. "He won't play with me. He's mean." Makya flopped back on his haunches, pouting, but satisfied with his initial inquisitive sniff of the thing for now. After a second, he looked back up at the female Wini. "I want one too. Where you get yours?"
Dyani watched the two kids talking, and shook her head slightly. "Makya just got here and he's already got me exhausted trying to keep up with him." She sighed, smiling a bit and listening to Augustus. "That's right. 'S 'cause I'm getting used to you now. Means you have to put up with me talking all the time now," she teased, lightly ruffling the smaller Wini's fur with her much larger paw.

"Daw, that's ok. I like to listen." Augustus replied. He wasn't quite as small as he had been when he first met the shy female, but she still dwarfed him a good deal. "I know why he wore you out. It's acause he's so small." Before Dyani could ask, he continued. "You see, we're small, so we don't have to use as much energy to move, right? You're like moving 4 of us, cause you're all bigger and tall n' such. So that has to take 4 times the energy that it takes him or me or Peri to move." It made sense to him.
Peridot held down the familiar while the boy sniffed it. "My mommy made my human give it to me." She said happily. Jun was good to her, and sort of spoiled the little girl. She'd spoil Joxer too, when she had the chance. "You should make your human give you one. But for now, you can play with mine with me. If you'd like that is."

"Hmm...sounds like you have this thing all figured out, Augustus." Dyani chuckled. "That makes...quite a bit of sense...oddly..." Oddly, since she knew it really shouldn't make sense at all...
Either way, she smiled at the child. He seemed pretty bright for his age; at the least, very creative and had an inventive way of finding his own solutions for problems.
Makya tilted his head, curiously. "So I just make her get me one? Sounds easy. But how do you play with it? What does it do? Does it do tricks?" He seemed to be growing more talkative, though whether that was because he was growing used to the other child or simply his curiosity taking over, who knew.

Peridot giggled. "Squiggles does!" She pawed at her familiar. "Squiggles! Do the dance!" The purple cat mewled and hopped up onto it's tail and began to bounce up and down on it. "I taught her to do that. You can also play like this." She then swatted the familiar over. It tumbled and Peridot pounced it. "She's fun to chase."
Augustus let out a faint purr. "My human says you learn something new every day, and I think you just filled your quota." He nodded before hopping around a bit. "And at least now he's occupied with Peridot." Augustus looked to his younger friend with a smile. "Hey, do you like eggplants?"

Dyani tilted her head curiously. "Eggplants? Well, to be honest...I'm not sure I've ever seen one in real life before. I think I saw one in a book once...I think..."
Makya blinked, then crouched, tail swishing behind him. "Oh...so, like this?" Grinning, the stripey Wini child pounced as well, aiming for Peridot and her fun little toy.
