My Husban just anouned he had a problem. I kinda knew, but really paid no mind to it. Untill now.
He... hes addictied to X-box adchevements. playing a game untill hes completed them all, Playing a game he dispises till he gets the points. It never bothered me, untill a while ago.
I want at times him to be like hey you wana go to someplace.. but he doesnt think that way.. i just have high hopes. But the x-box usuly took up most of his time from 3:30 till 2 am.. We receved our first x-box as a wedding gift and it worked great till the cd drive didnt want to work all that much. So one day he says were going to sears.. im like why? to buy a freaking new one.. i did ask if we could afford it.. he said sure.. but i should have stoped him then.. Then it was an HD cable (gold plated) 50 dollors, a HDMI siwtch for our x-box and ps3 (another 50)
Finaly the madness and slight ignoring has finaly stoped...
Lightning hit our hd tv... effectilvy leaving us with a standerd tv and no way to get a new one anytime soon. Hes decided to sell alll the x-box items to essencly pay for a new tv (about 600 for the tv and the x-box will sell probley at 400) Its kinda nice since hell actualy pay a tad bit more attention at times.. not all since theres still a wii, ps3, psp, and ds. ^_^
but have any of you had a simiular problem?

Yeah, I'm like your husband but with my computer. She swears I love it more than I love her. She might be right since it doesn't yell at me...
But she actually put me on time limitations for the computer because it affected our physical relationship that bad. It has taken a lot of my will power to actually power down the computer and do whatever she wants.
You should try something like that maybe? But set up some time for the two of you to cuddle on the couch and watch a movie or whatever. And then he can go back to playing his games.

God yes... I like to play video games just as much as the next person who likes to... But my husband is so addicted it seems like sometimes. I feel like I'm constantly saying "its just a game!" I'll be trying to clean and bump him or walk in front of the tv and he will almost freak out. Sometimes I could brake the damn x-box! New games come out and he has to have them. It ain't cheap, it frustrates me. It's like he thinks I'm kidding when I try to talk to him about it. He will literally spend an entire weekend zoned out in front of the tv. It's the weekend, I want to go out and do something after working the week. I want him to pay attention to me and not that box of wires!
He tells me I'm the same way when it comes to reading books, but I find myself laying around and reading a book after he has turned down the idea of doing something together and has started a game. I even talked him into buying a two player game so we could do it together- do we play it? Not really. That was another waste of $60.
