There were no threads in here yet, so I thought I'd start one. Come in, sit, relax, and let's chat. Let's get to know each other since we're all guildies here. smile I'll start:
Hello everyone! I'm Kristen, my B-Day is next month so I'll be 19 (woot!) I'm always looking for new friends on Gaia. I love to cook (obviously) and I love to play games. Nice to meet you all. ^^

Hello!
Thanks for starting the thread, Kristen! (What do you like being called better? Lil? Lil Cute? Stranger? blaugh )
I'm Baagaa. Some of you probably already know this, considering it's Gaia - my name is the Japanese adaptation for the word burger, and I'm a burger fan. (: I also like cooking, games, and making new friends.
Nice to meet you all!

Heya Baagaa smile
I prefer being called LCS, but whatever you want to call me, as long as it catches my attention, is fine. Some people call me stranger but that one makes me feel weird sometimes. razz
That's pretty funny about your screen name, I don't know Japanese so thank you for pointing that out. Hey so, what kind of games do you enjoy playing? I'm a huge gamer!

Hey, LCS. (:
I play just about any kind of game that's well made, but I especially like RPGs, fighting games, and the Sims PC games. I write reviews for a game magazine (which won't be named for privacy reasons ;P), so I often have to play games that are really bad, too. It makes me really appreciate the good ones!
I own a PC, NES, PlayStation, Gamecube, PlayStation 2 (American & Japanese), Xbox360, GBA, and DS. 3nodding
What about you?

Why don't you have a Wii?!
And that's so awesome that you write reviews for a magazine. I'd love to do that! Do you get paid or is it just for fun?
My favorite game is probably The Sims 2, so that's cool that you play that. I cannot wait until the 3rd one, I've sign up for their newsletter and I'm watching everything that comes out about it. I think it is going to be a fantastic game! I also play Spore, I used to play World of Warcraft but after 3 1/2 years, I gave it up.
I have a DS (Animal Crossing, Zelda, Kirby, Cooking Mama 1 & 2, Guitar Hero). And a Wii (Basically all the Mario games, Raymen Raving Rabbits, Cooking Mama, and a few others that i can't think of.)
What's the different between a American version and Japanese version of a PS2?

I wish I had a Wii! We've been trying to get one, but it's always out of stock when we look for it. D:
I work for an indie magazine, so I only get paid in games, haha. I sell most of them, so it ends up paying a little. Also, I get games like Sims 2 expansions and Oblivion for free, so I can't really complain. (:
I'm really excited for Sims 3, too! My current computer probably can't handle Sims 3, but I'll probably upgrade by the time it comes out. (: I want to try Spore, but I'm kind of sore over the whole DRM issue only allowing you to install the software 3 times before you have to go through EA. sad I also used to play WoW too, but I stopped because it was too expensive and took up too much time. ^^;
How do you like Spore so far?
The main difference between the American version and Japanese version of the PS2 is their region encoding that determines which games it'll run. Some people install illegal mod chips and all that to get around it, but we decided just to be safe/legal and get a Japanese machine for our Japanese games.

- That's interesting, I didn't know that the Wii was still difficult to get. I remember I got mine a couple of months after it first came out and it was the only one in the store and it was returned the hour before I got there. So, I have a used one, but it works perfectly. I guess I was lucky.
- That's cool that you get paid in games! You can keep the ones that you like and sell the ones you don't, and it's a good way to always have a good present for your friends. haha! Which expansions do you have for The Sims 2? I'm dying to get the Apartment one, but I'm not sure if I want that or another one.
- I wonder when The Sims 3 is supposed to come out. I think my computer will run it since it runs Spore, but if it doesn't, I guess I'll just upgrade my computer again. Yeah, about Spore, I hate that 3 installations issue but if you use them up, you just call the company and they renew your amount, so it's not too bad. And yes, I quit WoW for the very same reason. I played it for 3 years and dropped out of college for it so I decided I shouldn't play it anymore.
- I think Spore is OKAY. I thought it was going to be SO much more but it didn't even up being THAT fantastic. I would still highly recommend it to people, but I haven't played it ever since i hit the space stage because I don't understand what to do and it's kind of repetitive.

I have all the gameplay expansions for the Sims2, but I don't have all the item expansions yet. I should be getting the Apartment expansion soon, since I've been assigned to review it. (: I'm pretty excited!
I'm not sure when Sims 3 is coming out, but it looks awesome so far. I might still get Spore later, but I figure I can wait it out for now, since I'm too busy to play new games at the moment, anyway.
One of my good friends got divorced because of WoW, so that kind of convinced our group of friends to stop playing. It was sad. sad
Hmm...I think I heard similar things about Spore from other people, too, like how your creatures are mostly affected by their stats rather than by their anatomy. That's too bad. I'm still looking forward to playing it someday, though! Some people say that the space stage is the only fun part of the game, but I have no idea, since I haven't tried it yet.
