Why did Zack have to go and get killed in such way ! Even if he died in a very heroic way. And poor Aerieth never got to see Zack anymore...that sucked...
You guys wish Zack were still alive ??

I think his death was great. And by saying that I'm telling that it was needed, gave meaning and motivation to more important things yet to happen and had so much more powerful story-elements and feelings than Zack coming out alive. Good stories need sacrifices and decent amount of drama. Losing good (or great, touching, likable etc.) character is much more meaningful than just some side character of who you at first appearance know that it's going to be killed.
I don't wish he was alive. I liked the character, but I enjoyed more of how it affected to the whole game. Cloud would not be who he is, Tifa either, and especially not Aeris. She would be alive. Terrible thought...

But thats still not the reason she was mad at him in FFVII. it was because he never wrote her back in 4 years... wow im way off subject. I LOVE YOU ZACK!!!!( in a friendly way, my bf would get jealous of a fictional character)

I think the way Square presented his death was terrific; Very dramatic, melancholy, and had a sombering effect. Although it was depressing it gave the story more meaning. Square finally went back and accurately described the events that lead up to Cloud's initial personality in VII (Although they vaguely touch this in a cinematic in VII). I agree with Schutzhund. We would not have the FF VII that we do if it were not for Zack's heroic sacrifice.

um well one zack originally didn't die like he did in crisis core he died from a bullet to the head saving cloud... they only made it more dramatic so you'd buy the game

None the less, unless you have watched the ending before hand (youtube, watched a friend, however), how would you know that that they were going to portray his death in such a way? I certainly didn't until I beat it....

Converse LoveI still think that zack should have lived instead of cloud. I just think Zack was more mature and more human in the sense that he dealt with things after thinking a bit. Not just acting on impulse.

I did cry. Then I read a bunch of fanfics about him coming back. stare
Wait, so I really haven't posted on this topic yet? I don't think I could have said it better than Schutzhund, though. While I'm terribly, horribly sad about him dying, I wouldn't have it any other way. Fanfics are all well and good, but only as fanfics.

I knew he died at some point. Didn't know he died in CC until now, but maybe that's just as well. It's not really a spoiler.
I do wish he wasn't dead. I do realize it would've changed the story if he lived, so in that sense he "had" to die. But I wish he was alive.
And remember, Aerith knew in the original VII when her mother's husband died. So it does make sense that she would know when Zack died. And at least in AC they're back together in Lifestream/Heaven.
