On this day, a nation remember those lost in the attacks on our capitoaal at the Pentagon, as well as the Trade Center. Do remember as well the flight that fought back and went down in Pennsylvania.
What bothers me is that many threads I see come out today are hateful to this fact and wish to say certain things are not as they seem. Some say that prayer is not needed what effect does it have, others yet wish to help and say let's move on and honor it but not let it control our lifes. I creat this thread to have a thoughtful disscussion on what you think about 9/11 and in rememberance for those who lost there lives seven years ago, and for those who are overseas making the tough decisions and are working to protect us from those extreamist factions that wish to harm us.
Rules: 1.Please be thoughtful of other and be respectful, do not attack others for there opinions. 2.No foul language, civility can be used just as tactfully as throwing out the F-bomb at others. 3.No spamming, again a respect issue.
And now, feel free to disscuss and offer you opininons to the above stated and anything else that you think should be remembered for today.

Well I do think that people who put calls for prayer down are probably intolerant of other peoples' beliefs.
If someone says something about prayer they most likely aren't saying it to be offensive or anything much in the same way that if they said Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah or something they aren't necessarily trying to be offensive or convert you.
On another note, the conspiracy people really make me mad though and they always come out on the anniversary.

The Joker Nobody panics when things go according to plan. Even if the plan is horrifying. If tomorrow I tell the press that like a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all, part of the plan. But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds! Part of the plan: Hundreds of thousands of people dying per year in accidents. Not part of the plan: 3k people dying in a single event. Treating 9/11 as a sacrosanct event forever to be mourned while ignoring other unfortunate deaths is ridiculous.

People dying everyday isn't part of any "plan" it just happens. While what you say makes sense in from a logical perspective it would also be logical to recognize the events of September 11th 2001 are far more historically significant than a trucker getting mugged in an alley in Pittsburgh on any other given night.

I think you don't understand what is meant by "the plan." "It just happens" *IS* the plan. In other words, the point The Joker was making was that people ignore atrocities as long as it happens to people that we "expect" something to happen to, but panic over smaller ones because we weren't expecting it.

I haven't really got much to say about 9/11 because whenever I think about it I relive that whole day as I remember it. One thing I would like to say: whoever has cable, the History Channel tonight is doing a program on 9/11 from actual footage that people on the streets captured. Since I couldn't tell you what time it's at due to time changes, go to historychannel.com and check out what time it's at for you.
Today, my prayers go out to the families and friends of those who were killed on that tragic day seven years ago.
