n00bs are a strange breed, and no error. They're curious, stupid beasts, and not one seems to share the exact same traits as another. Still, something so amazingly stupid can't be THAT hard to comprehend. What have you learned in your encounters? Has any particular n00b given you insight into the entire species? Do you have any great theories to share on their inconceivable actions? I'm sure we'd all like to learn from each others' experiences. So . . . share them, if you'd care to.

Someone once asked: Why is it when ever n00bs mess up it's always one of their friends or relatives posting under their names? Actually, that's a very good question, and I pondered the answer for all of five seconds before something dawned on me. There is a remarkable about of similarity between the n00bs. They all seem to have the same personality. They all use the same arguments. They all make the same grammar and spelling errors. What does this mean? My theory is that n00bs have no brain but simply extract the ability to speak and breathe from some central-n00b conciousness, much like the borg. Only really really stupid. But because this conciousness has no real sense of awareness and exists without the ability to learn or comprehend its surroundings, none of the n00bs have a sense of self. It's just instinct coupled with an attraction to shiney objects. This means that they often confuse themselves with eachother.

When provoked to PMs, they'll almost never give up on the argument, even when they're forced to retreat to standard, cliche insults. Quite amusing to sink sarcasm barbs into.
Also pathological bad spellers.

When they PM one of us and attempt to convert us to their way of belief, it often results in counter pm's by us, followed by a, Quote: well, let's just stop arguing about this. I'll never give up on *insert anime character's name here* and you won't give up on *Insert character that would actually win here* I remember when one threatened to strangle me through my computer... good times.

Y'know, my drill sergeant would have described that as being "as wrong as two boys ********." Which isn't very PC, but IS rather funny.

Sorce Zelyhon When provoked to PMs, they'll almost never give up on the argument, even when they're forced to retreat to standard, cliche insults. One threatened to call his mother on me once... I had one begin PMing me with another account and claiming to be her own mother. What tripped her up was the math involved in being a 24 year old with a 12 year old daughter... I asked her if the age on her "mother" account was accurate, and she said yes... after screaming at me for being rude with her "daughter" who was celebrating her 12th birthday that day... rolleyes Quote: And they tend to have the long silver hair and the flame outfit (if male). And once they get the money (through rabid bumping, horribly misplaced spam, or other rampant idiocy), they move up to either the royal yukata (red like Inuyasha's clothes) or the ronin yukata (because anything with the word "ronin" in it is automatically cool)...

So do I. There's nothing wrong with them. -Zel
Agreed, but you have to agree that's one of the things they go for. -Phoenix

Wow. Instead of simply quoting or posting after somebody, the mods edit in responses! That's awesome.
Indeed. The only problem is it doesn't let the person know you replied, so it's usually done jokingly or when you know they'll check again. -Zel

XmasTree Wow. Instead of simply quoting or posting after somebody, the mods edit in responses! That's awesome. We can do it either way. biggrin
Just like to add that they usually blow things completely out of proportion. Like in this thread. They also seem to believe that you absolutely must like anime or else. They're also highly hypocritical, wishing for you to respect their opinions and freedom to like and dislike certain anime, but believing that anyone that dislikes anime should suffer grievious bodily harm.

Also pathological bad spellers. Whatever it is I do hope newbies think carefully before posting. I really dislike most of their lame, unintelligent posts. Few of them can go into in-depth discussions. This is really maddening.
