Apparently all well-turned out young ladies were required to play an instrument. Or so Anataela had recently been informed by her new guardian. Acceptable options had been the flute or the harp or the violin.
Anataela stood inside the big music store and stared, wide-eyed. She wasn't sure if flute or harp or violin would be any fun... maybe she'd rather play the drums. Not like Vienne would approve of that... But still. She just had no idea what to choose! There were so many options...
Her tail curling and uncurling with mild anxiety, Ana slipped gracefully through the rows and racks while up front her guardian discussed suitable teachers with one of the employees.

The Leech boy was starring up at the sign of the music store and then looked over his shoulder at his mother and gave her a smile, "Its amazing." He murmured to her. He was new to music and to find that there was a store devoted to nothing but music had his head spinning.
Lucrecia smiled, stepping in out out of the warm night air, holding the door open for her son so they could both wander inside, "This is where I got your instrument and books, look around and see if you can find any thing else you need."
Kliken nodded, lifting a hand to the pouch that hung around his neck and nodded rapidly, "I will, thank you." He murmured, turning to walk inside. He looked back and forth, eyes wide as he started down the different aisles. What an amazing place, so many instruments some of which he didn't even know the names for. There were a ton of books on music, cases for instruments, and all sorts of other things.
He wasn't playing a lot of attention to where he was going, everything to interesting for him to be able do that.

Ana wasn't paying much attention either. She was feeling slightly out of her element... taking up an instrument would be fun if it had been her idea. But she just wasn't sure about it. Nevertheless, she was supposed to. So she'd better find something she'd like and be good at.
Deeply distracted, she didn't notice Kliken until she bumped right into him. "Oh!" Her skin flushed a rosy pink for just a second, then returned to it's normal color and she smiled sheepishly at the boy, silently wishing that she could control the emotional color-changes that had started occuring after her first lesson. "I'm really sorry!"

The leech gave a little squeak when he was bumped into and took a step back, flushing though it was visible against his dark skin "A-Ah... s-sorry." He murmured, "I wasn't p-paying attention"
He took another step back to give the girl her space, "A-Are you a-alright?" He asked, hoping that he hadn't run into her to hard or hurt her... had she just changed color he wondered to himself.

Regaining her composure, Ana smiled sweetly at the boy. "I'm fine. I wasn't paying attention either..." Her smile turned rueful. "I'm supposed to pick out an instrument to learn, but I dont know what to choose."

Kliken relaxed, smiling when she said that she was alright, "Really? I-I'm looking for b-books." He said with a smile, tapping his hand against the pouch that hung around his neck, "M-My mom got me o-one already. I-Its fun."
He opened up the pouch and took out his green glazed, six hole Ocarina and showed it to the girl. It was a simple, beginners Ocarina, "T-There are lots of d-different sorts, b-but this kind is f-for beginners." He explained.

Ana leaned forward a little, eyeing the ocarina. "Whats it called? Can you play it? Are you any good? What does it sound like? Will you play it for me?" She was slightly breathless after her barrage of questions, but she smiled eagerly at the boy, anxious to hear his answers... and maybe even hear him play!

Kliken looked down at the instrument in his hands and then gave a little flush, "I-Its an O-Ocarina. I... I am n-new to it, n-not bad to bad at it. I-Its a nice sound b-but... ahh..." He looked up at her and looked a little unsure, "H-Haven't played for anyone b-but my f-family."
He wondered if he could play for a stranger, she was about his age and seemed nice. Could he do it?
"I-I could t-try." He said, looking it over and then lifted to his lips and started a song. It was a simple song, the easiest one in the book to learn. It had all the sounds of someone new to the art but was trying their best.

As far as Ana was concerned, he was the best ocarina player she'd ever heard. Then again... she'd never even heard of an ocarina until just now. Despite the wobbly beginner's notes, she could tell she liked the sound even while she already knew that Vienne wouldn't let her take it as her instrument. Which was a little dissapointing.
When Kliken finished his song, she grinned and clapped for him, hopping up and down just a little bit. "That was really good, you know." Ana said. "I'm Anataela, by the way." Ooh... she'd be in trouble if Vienne found out her manners had lapsed so much that she hadn't even introduced herself. "Whats your name?"

He lowered the instrument when he finished up the song and gave a smile, looking a little shy over her words, "T-Thank you." He murmured, quite happy that the first person outside of his family that he played for didn't mind the song, even liked it.
"I-Its nice t-to meet you. M-My name is Kliken Belladona." He said as he tucked his instrument into the pouch around his neck and patted it. It was a nice instrument, he really enjoyed it because of both the sound and simplicity, "C-Can I... walk a-around the store w-with you?" He asked shyly.

Ana flushed pink again, very briefly. "I'd like that." She answered, holding out her hand to him in a natural gesture. "Maybe you can help me choose an instrument... Vienne thinks a lady should play the harp or the flute or the violin and I dont really know anything about any of them."

He gave a smile then starred at the hand that she offered in, rather surprised before he took it in his, "S-Sure. I would l-like to help." He said with a happy smile. He thought over the instruments that were listed off to them, they all sounded nice and he knew the instrument that went with those names even since they were common ones.
"W-What would you l-like to start with?" He asked, wondering which instrument they would look at first.

Ana thought about the question, though what she really wanted to think about was wether or not she could change colors to match Kliken the way she had with Yeesha. Shaking off her distraction, she shrugged. "I dont know. I want to be good at it, whatever it is..." Being good at things was very important to the chameleon. "Maybe we can look at flutes first? They're kind of like your ocarina, right?" At least... you blew into a flute and you blew into an ocarina. She knew that much at least.

Kliken gave a little nod, they did have a somewhat similar sound he thought and they were both the sort of instrument you had to blow into to make work. He looked around, trying to figure out which direction they might be in before he picked an arbitrary direction for him and Anataela to go in.
"I w-want to be good too. S-Since it was a-a gift." He didn't want his mother's gift to go to waste, on top of that he rather liked the ocarina. It sounded nice and it was easy enough so far to learn. From what he heard though they got more complicated as you left the beginners one behind.

It turned out Kliken had picked the right direction. Ana stared at the flutes gleaming in the light. "Hmmm..." She said thoughtfully. "Maybe we can practice together sometime. After I pick out something, that is." She reached for a flute and gave it a practice blow. A horrible, discordant note sounded, making her flinch, her skin flashing briefly orange. "Oh!" Ana said in suprise. "Thats no good!"
