Moving away from the updraft, she started a gradual descent, wings tilted up as she landed a tad heavily on all four hooves, her tail flopping on the grass behind her. She patted the curve of her belly fondly. Though she had yet to feel the lives within move around - a definate and conclusive sign that she was pregnant as her mother had said and she had suspected - she was still half pondering names, and how many she would have..girls or boys - or both!
It was all so exciting, unexpected so soon, but exciting nonetheless. With all those thoughts in mind, she walked now, grazing every so often, and pausing to listen, or to scent for Althalus.

 Vidia, however, was not of a chipper spirit. She had been doing a great deal of thinking after leaving Ambroise and apologizing for her irrational behavior towards him after his younger brother had unintentionally shattered her heart. Oh she'd been a fool to both of them, so she was now off to make amends with Althalus.
She honestly wondered what was so wrong about her. She had met countless stallions when she was a young mare and all of them either saw her as a friend or a thorn in their side. What was it about her that made everyone so put out when it came to her? Was she too quiet? Was she too brash? She could feel the weight of the world starting to settle back on her shoulders.
And heaven forbid she become something like Inali. She saw the very same path the older mare had taken and it was eerily familiar. She would do all in her power not to become a bitter old mare. But she couldn't keep listening to her heart either.
No, her personal matters were important today. She would have to think on it when she had apologized to Althalus. She physically shook herself of the negative feelings and gazed around her. Her eyes weren't looking to the sky but when she scanned to the other side, she spotted a mare with wings.
Jealousy reared its ugly head momentarily, but perhaps asking someone if they'd seen a sunset stallion with a wind mare would help her on her quest. Surely someone had seen them about at the very least. She made her way towards her with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "I'm sorry if I'm intruding on your solitude. I have a simple question to ask."

Nivriti paused in the process of chewing a mouthful of grass when she spotted the approaching mare - she was a pretty looking Soquili and decked out in jewellery that served to accentuate her appearance.
Nivriti swallowed hurriedly, and returned the mare's smile with her own, very genuine one..though she had alot to be happy for.
'You're not, I was looking for my mate, but another's company is just as welcome. What did you want to ask?'

It wasn't possible that this mare could be the same one that was with Althalus, but then again, one couldn't make such a biased assumption. After all, she could be mated to an assortment of stallions that would fit her beauty. So the best course of action would be to just openly ask the question that was on her mind.
Vidia offered a hesitant smile. At least this Wind wasn't like the others she had met. "What a coincidence. I was wondering if you've seen a sunset stallion. Cheeky fellow with silver eyes." She almost spilled the beans of needing to apologize to him, but that was personal matters--not something to be laundered about to anyone.

Life was full of those. Coincidences. Of course Nivriti had no idea that this mare was looking for the exact same stallion that she was. Of course if she had an inkling, a tiny seed of jealously might have shown itself, because despite his confessions of love and the fact that she was carrying his children, she still worried that some prettier mare would steal him away from her.
Sunset stallion with silver eyes.Cheeky? Nivriti blinked a couple of times - well, she wasn't sure of course, maybe there was another out there like him. They did say that somewhere in the world was your twin.
'Oh?' she finally managed.
'I might have, what's his name?'

She had been trying to avoid saying his name. Althalus's caused guilt, but Ambroise's caused her pain. She had to steel herself to actually get his name passed her lips. It was difficult going since everything was still fresh as she'd forced herself to re-open the wound she had inflicted on her heart.
"Althalus. He said that he's usually in the company of his mate, Nivriti." She tried her best not to make some sort of face at the mention that he was taken, but she wasn't the best at her composure yet. It's difficult to lie with your heart.

Nivriti's eyes rounded and her jaw dropped a little. Now that was a coincidence! And she was so very lovely a mare, that it made her rustle her wings a bit in consternation. But at the very least this mare knew of her existence, and so Nivriti took small comfort in that fact.
Though there was something strained about the expression and the voice of this mare, she noted to herself.
'He's not in my company right now,' she answered, still trying to keep a light tone in her voice.
'You're a friend of his?'

Not a mere coincidence any more, but irony. The earth and the skies were against her! She stood there blinking stupidly like a young filly until it finally dawned on her that the mare standing before her was Nivriti. The fates found humor as she saw just what Althalus loved completely. The next piece to make her feel horrid would be for Ambroise to showcase a mate in front of her eyes to make a mockery that she refused him as a substitute.
She had been gawking long enough, snapping her mouth shut and making a haste bow as she apologized. "A friend that scorned the little he had offered me. My name's Vidia. I now know who you are. I'm sincerely sorry for my behavior." She wasn't sure just how much Nivriti knew of the two times she'd seen Althalus.

Now that was a strange expression that this mares face had on it, for a fair while after Nivriti had spoke, she wondered if maybe there was a reason behind the look. She trusted Althalus, or tried to as much as the slight neurosis she had about him finding someone as vibrant as he was let her be.
'Oh I see.' Nivriti didn't in fact, but she couldn't think of anything else to say, and she wasn't the kind to be nasty.
'Well Vidia, you have an advantage over myself then, as I do not know you, and therefore you do not have anything to apologise to me for.'
I don't think.. she added silently. Althalus hadn't mentioned this mare - she wondered why not, and guessed that maybe the souring of their friendship had made him unwilling to discuss it.

Well, that didn't seem odd at all to her. Perhaps it was how she had reacted to Althalus the last time she saw him, her sudden departure of his company. Why would he want to talk about a friend that had fled from him in his joy? Maybe it was best that Nivriti hadn't heard much about Vidia.
But would it be fair to leave this mare completely in the dark? After all, she was his mate and was obviously starting to show the proof that he was with her belly. If she was in this mare's shoes, she'd want to be a bit more enlightened instead of worried about why a strange mare was seeking out her mate. "It's a silly matter, but I feel guilty over the whole things. Do not fear that he was unfaithful to you. The last I heard from him was his praises of your beauty."
She started feeling a bit disheartened as she spoke, her head instinctively being lowered like a cowed mare. No-no, that wasn't how she would behave. She lifted her head back up with effort to look the mare in the eye. "I placed my emotions where I would never know or feeling the same in return. When he spoke of you and his happiness, I ran to hide my heartbreak. It was foolish of me to give something so fragile with no hope of it being tended, especially when he'd found someone else," she finished with a hesitant smile.

Nivriti supposed that was comforting enough; but would this mare really own to having some sort of relationship other than friendshp with Althalus? Stop it now! she scolded herself, and she resolved to listen without letting her hormones bait her flares of jealously.
'Really? That's sweet of him.' she murmured. But she was curious, had Althalus said something to have set feelings off in this mare? She knew he was charming, from experience, and that his words made one soar in the air with joy at knowing that another felt you were worthy of praise. But did he say that to every mare he met?
'I suppose you weren't to know,' Nivriti offered, trying to comfort. Putting herself in the mare's hooves, she felt that if she and Althalus hadn't hit it off as well as they had, she too might have been suffering from not a little heartache.

Her quiet statement sent another stab of pain to her chest, but not as strong as it once had been. Perhaps this is what a healed heart felt like? She left her resolve strengthen and gave a slightly brighter smile. "I suppose you're right." There, that hadn't been so bad.
"He was probably the nicest Soquili I've met. Of course, it's a shame he had to meet me during my hardest time. His words gave me some confidence with myself," she rambled on briefly, gazing off into space. "Well, it seems as though my search will have to continue. It wouldn't be right to ask you to pass on my apologizes."

Nivriti smiled at the mare's words; it was true but she didn't think now was the time to go on about it, that would be selfish as Vidia was obviously sensitive about what had transpired, and even about the fact that she was Althalus's mate? She wasn't sure if she was completely right, there was just a sense she got from their limited conversation.
'If you wish I can let him know that you're looking for him so that you can do so?' she offered.

She paused a moment. It would be very beneficial for Nivriti to inform him that Vidia was looking for him, but was it fair? Well, fair or not, the offer had been made. "I would be grateful if you would. Thank you."

'You're very welcome.' Nivriti gave a short nod, glancing about. Now that was sorted she wasn't sure what else to say to the mare. Should she really bleat out the usual cliches about her finding someone one day? She really didn't know Vidia well enough to do that she felt.
They really only had the one thing in common, and talking more about Althalus would be tactless.
'Well, I should be on my way really, I mean unless you particularly wanted company right now?'
