I'm stuck 255 f$#king miles away from home...and my lover....Stuck in college, no car to get around, forced to wait for buses to get to walmart or a kmart or a f%$king mcdonalds......I am running low on cash too......the morons in the dorms around me blast music and are noisy pretty much ALL NIGHT....I can't get to sleep till damn near 3am!!! UGH!!!! The classes are long and BORING!! HELL!! I am even writing this while in my damn history class!!! on top of that.....THERE'S ONLY ONE DAMN BATHROOM PER FLOOR!!!...4 stalls per bathroom...and 4 showers per bathroom....and if they are full...YOU BETTER HOLD IT!!! no matter what......and wait for the shower....I don't know about you..but I am very shy about my body.....showing to to guys or girls!

First off, there's no reason for you to have to put up with loud music or noise of any kind at night. Call your RA and complain, and that doesn't help, go straight to the RD and tell him or her that nothing is being done and that the noise is affecting your sleep.

As for the bathroom situation, suck it up. You make it sound like waiting thirty seconds for someone to finish is most unreasonable. If you've got a bladder control problem, then I can understand your annoyance. Otherwise, it doesn't sound so bad (I've been in dorms for four years, two of those years we only had TWO bathroom stalls for the girls).

Shower time: I dealt with that too, so I can understand not wanting to expose yourself. Do you have co-ed bathrooms? Or do guys just waltz in to do their business while visiting their girlfriends? I'm pretty sure the school would separate the sexes in the bathroom. But, if you don't want to be seen, and you don't want to wait, take your showers at a time when few people bathe. I take mine at night, before doing my homework. By the time I go to bed my hair is dry. Try it! It's also a nice way to relax after a long day.

And the money situation: go to a branch of your bank, and open a new account that your parents can't access. You're over 18, and it's your right.

Adderall???! scream Dude, that stuff does terrible things to your heart. At least, that's what I've read in the media. You might want to check in on what the risks are for that stuff; it doesn't have a very good reputation.

As for the music, it's not your responsibility to find out where it's coming from, it's your RA's. If he/she isn't doing what he/she is supposed to, which is keeping the dorm in a good state for learning, then somebody's a** needs to be reported to their superiors. How hard could it be for somebody with access to all floors and rooms to walk around the building and see where the music is the loudest?

And banking, try opening your own account at a local branch. Just make sure it's a good national bank (like Bank of America, Wachovia, something you're likely to always be within ten miles of). You're over 18, so it shouldn't be a problem. Like you said, it's your money so your dad shouldn't be bitching about it unless he knows you are buying alcohol or drugs or prostitutes.

Ok...this REEEAAAALLLLLYYYYY pisses me off......I am sound asleep and its 2am.....what do I wake up to? A F***ING FIRE ALARM!!! SOME MORON WAS COOKING SOMETHING AND BURNED IT TO THE POINT OF IT SMOKING! HONESTLY WHAT MORON IS COOKING AT 2AM!??!? SERIOUSLY!? MOST OF US HAVE CLASSES IN LESS THAN 6 HOURS!

I live in New York and my girlfriend lives in Washington (I dont mean D.C.) so I know what you mean on that part of it at least. I hate it, since shes got a really bad job and works all the time while making very little compared to how much she needs to go through college.

My gf works at a sam's club.....and NOT ALOT.....and paid every two weeks....she only gets a max of $250
