I dont know if anyone has seen this yet, but read this if you can. http://cwwatch.wordpress.com/2008/09/03/camas-school-employees-threaten-to-strike/
The superintendent decided to cut wages so he makes about 140,000$ dollars now and the people like bus drivers actually get payed less now. Do you think the Camas School district should go on strike?

Really, Washington state must hate education... First WASL problems, then teacher problems, and it's a repeat every year.

+ I just wouldnt go if I were you... I hate being in the middle of issues, last year, snohomish county teachers went on strike and it was excusable for all students to stay at home so that they are ensured they wont be stuck at school...

What im confused about is that, does that mean we dont go to school, or does it mean I better start walking and bring my own lunch, and according to this article Toilet Paper? Okay the last one was a joke but really, the bus staff and so on not only affects the school but the student. I hate that because the Camas School District was consider one of th best schools in the country. And now this happens and our school rep. just plummits.

I would pack my lunch and start walking if I were you... Actually, if I were you, I would just stay home. If everyone's on strike, what are you going to learn? How to hold a picket sign and walk in circles is my direct answer.
There's no point in going if no one is teaching you. That's why when people were on strike out here, they had to cancle school, because theres too many students to guide and control when our teachers are outside doing sooo much to earn their wages... I do hope those picket signs dont give them splinters. Then they'll try to take medical leave xd

The teachers are not the ones on strike, some of them might be. Its just the Bus drivers Custodians and Cafeteria workers.

Halloween-Phantom159x The teachers are not the ones on strike, some of them might be. Its just the Bus drivers Custodians and Cafeteria workers. Well, then if they can't transport or feed you, then it should be excusable. Just call the office and tell them you dont have a way to get to school and back without a bus, and you need to eat at lunch.
And that will automatically excuse you until it is announced that the strike has stopped.
I know it sounds like Im urging you to play hooky, but its not healthy to not have lunch. When you're at school, their obligated to provide the food.
