So, it was the time for the season's change. Lush emerald fields of grass were to be covered in a blanket of crisp brown leaves to be torn and mangled by the hooves of passing Soquili. Cool breezes were to become chilly winds, some days biting into your hide. The pumpkins would start turning up, as well as the corn the two leggers harvested. Nethea sighed at the thought of summer's end. Summer was when you could lie in the forest grass, by the babbling brook for hours on end, watching the dragonflies flit by, and the lantern bugs glow at night. But that was soon to be over. "Where did the time go?" Asked the little orange mare.

Leap found himself once again walking alone. It hadn't been too long ago when he had someone to talk to someone to hang out with. But she seemed to have forgotten about him, or else she found someone a little more interesting. Either way it made for very lonely walks through out the forest. Feeling a cool breeze drift through the trees he smiled and said softly,
"Fall will be creeping up sooner then we think..."
Fall would be a nice change he thought, since he was still so young int he ways of the land he wasn't quiet sure how fall or winter would be in these parts. Hoping perhaps that the fall would bring a change of pace he looked up and saw a brightly colored mare. Smiling again,
"And summer could still be at hand."

"Hm?" Nethea asked while turning her head. She blinked at the small stallion in front of her. He was green...like a frog. And actually didn't seem to have a flirtatious tone to his voice, but just a wondering sort of tone, like a poet, in a way.
"Oh, why hello there." She blinked again, standing up. She didn't expect anyone today, but she hardly ever did, really.
"You think it might? Well, I'll be glad if so. I hate the fall. Its so...depressing. Like, everything falling asleep, ready to just die once winter come around, you get what I'm saying?" She mused, turning to the green stranger.
"Oh, where are my manners? My name is Nehtea," SHe gave a small bow. "And your name?"

Chuckling slightly to himself he smiled once again, he couldn't help feeling a bit happier seeing someone else his size. She seemed nice, not big and mean or wanting to eat him and use his pelt as a coat atleast. Nodding his head slightly, he finally responded.
"It's a pleasure Nehtea I'm Leap. As for fall...things do fall asleep just like you and I do, but they always awaken. Unless of course there are Kalona's afoot and then things don't awaken very well."
He responded with a smirk.

Nethea nodded at his name, giving him a smile. Finally, she could engage in just a civil conversation with a male.
She shuddered at the thought of Kalonas, their leathery wings and horns gleaming with vicious aura. It gave her goosebumps just to have the vision in her mind.
"Yes, those Kalonas are quite the nasty things. But let's move on to a happier topic, shall we?" She asked with a slightly nervous chuckle. "So, Leap, where do you come from?"

"Ah yes sorry, I suppose the last beautiful creature that I had the pleasure of meeting got me rather riled up about forming an alliance against those that were big and nasty. But as far as happier topics"
He smiled, it was nice to talk to someone again. Things were interesting to say the least lately with Hazard having found a mate and Lucinda being completely clueless he hadn't had much time to talk with anyone anymore and this was such a nice pleasant change of pace.
"In the clearing past these trees the river runs close to where I live, I live there with Wyntre and there are of course others. Three that are normal sized one of which is a mother and son pair and then there is one that is rather small but I think she'll get bigger she has wings, and then myself. How about you Nehtea where do you hail from?"

"Ah, so you live with your human. Sounds nice." Nehtea commented, nodding her head.
"Ah, myself? I come from the desert, originally. My human, Shadow, found me and raised me from a basket. But I could no longer take the dangerous heat of the desert, I don't even know how he can stand it." She sighed, shaking her head with a sad smile. "But now I live in the center of this forest. It's quite nice, really. Shade, a nice breeze is able to get through, and a small pond off to the side."
She pondered, what could she ask next. He had brought up tepee mates. She never had any of those. "So...how's it like to live with other Soquili?"

Laughing slightly at her question he smiled quiet pleased with himself having found a new friend
"Well, it's interesting. Wyntre my human is nice enough she's kind of crazy though but I believe that all must be that way. Or else we just couldn't get along with them. As far as the others go. Well, Ama she's the smallish one I mentioned she's sweet and caring very much like her mother. Then Hazard and Lucinda which is the mother and son they are interesting. Hazard is too busy to bother with me and poor Lucinda hasn't a clue what is going on around her most the time."
He had learned from his last encounter that perhaps sharing a little more and being a bit more bold in speak would gather him a little more in the friendship category. And besides she seemed nice enough, she was very brightly colored not unlike the others that he had the pleasure of meeting so far.

"Very true, very true." Nethea laughed, tickled by his statement about crazy humans. Yes. Humans were quite crazy. After all, they lived in such awkward little shelters, and their way of speech was awkward as well. But then again, she shouldn't be a pot calling the kettle black. She was sure the humans could come up with reasons why her and her horse companions were strange things.
"It does sound quite nice...its like a family, isn't it?" She asked, smiling at him. This was nice. To just talk to someone on a same level of mental maturity. Maybe she could find a friend in this male. Hopefully, more than maybe.

Nodding,
"Yeah kind of like a family...one that is bigger then you. How about you do you have a human you live with? Or a herd of any kind?"
She was nice he thought to himself as he smiled softly, there wasn't really a known reason why he was acting so funny but at the very least he was able to talk to mares which made him happy atleast.

"No, I don't. I live alone." Nethea sadly shook her head, looking down at the ground. She saw a beetle, trudging along its way. Alone, like she was most of the time.
"I used to live with a human. He's a quite nice, too. But I couldn't stand to live where he did, live his kind of lifestyle. He was a lone wolf of sorts, living deep in the desert. I felt so bad leaving him too..." She choked a bit, surprised at the tone of her voice. Was she...crying? She shook her head violently, casting the tears.
"I-I'm sorry..." She chuckled nervously, ashamed that she would begin to cry in front of someone. "I just...this is...a had subject for me to talk about."

Leap smiled and without thinking nuzzled her gently,
"It is very common to weep over someone you loved. I would weep if I were to ever get separated from the others...even though they don't normally notice me. Don't be ashamed."
He smiled brightly before thinking about a different subject,
"Flowers...do you like them? A friend I once met used to prance about them and then eat them after they had been mangled just so that the flowers wouldn't feel bad that they had been mangeled"
He smiled remembering that day vividly.

Did he just...nuzzle her? That thought raced through her mind a thousand times a second, as she stood there, eyes staring blankly ahead. Normally, she would have instantly began to insult him, and possibly try and hurt him. But...this was different. His nuzzle was warmly comforting.
"Huh? Oh!" She snapped out of her daze "Flowers! Yes, I do like flowers." She replied, shaking her head to clear her thoughts. "Well, I like to look at flowers, I should say." She smiled, hesitantly getting closer to him. "As for frolicking in them and eating them...not so much." She laughed, nudging him, and then began to trot in the opposite direction.
"I do enjoy a good run, however." She called over her shoulder, laughing after. She had no idea what came over her...but it made her feel good.

Blinking suddenly, what was it with mares that just ran off like that. Shaking his head he smiled and chased after her. Catching up to her he smiled gently and then said,
"Well look at that beautiful smile it radiates beautifully"
Looking at her again he couldn't help but smile even deeper she was refreshing he though and this was fun.

Did he just say...beautiful smile? For some reason, that didn't anger her at all. It made her giddy, sending metaphoric Flutters through her stomach as she ran.
"Well, you're not too bad looking yourself there, mister." Nethea giggled, nudging him as they ran together.
What was this feeling? It felt wonderful, whatever it was. And she loved it.
