Strangers in the Night, By Frank Sinatra Strangers in the night exchanging glances Wond'ring in the night What were the chances we'd be sharing love Before the night was through.
Something in your eyes was so inviting, Something in your smile was so exciting, Something in my heart, Told me I must have you.
Strangers in the night, two lonely people We were strangers in the night Up to the moment When we said our first hello. Little did we know Love was just a glance away, A warm embracing dance away and -
Ever since that night we've been together. Lovers at first sight, in love forever. It turned out so right, For strangers in the night.
Love was just a glance away, A warm embracing dance away -
Ever since that night we've been together. Lovers at first sight, in love forever. It turned out so right, For strangers in the night.
Do dody doby do do doo de la da da da da ya Every now and then two people meet that are destined to be together. But more often than not, the two people don't realise it and screw up their chances by parting way's prematurely, or not acknowledging the fact becuase the idea scares them, or overwhelms them. When such an occurence happens... Fate steps in and rights humanaties wrongs... Such a thing sha'll happen tonight... SUSAN Thanks to a chance meeting, and a snapping of a tree limb, Susan B. Anthony had fallen into Xiáng-huo's world... both literally and figuratively. Unfortunately though... Susan hadn't realised the importance of the glowing male... and even now he still couldn't quite figure out why he couldn't get Xi out of his mind. He sighed miserably for what might have been the hundreth time that night. Why had he splashed Xi? why couldn't he have just not MESSED with the gorgeous glowing male? He growled lowly at his own stupidity, and his growl was soon accompanied by the growl of his own stomach. He sighed once more and sloly raised himself up off of the ground. Shaking himself out he looked up at the night sky. It really was a beautiful night out... But the tree's he was currently sleeping under wasn't the easiest thing to see through... so he trotted his way out of the forest and into the small meadow he had been staying by for the past coupld of days. He sat down dismally and looked up at the night sky longingly. This would have been the perfect scene, if he had a person to share it with... not in a physically romantic way... Susan wasn't sure he would ever be able to actually do... THAT with someone... He quickly shook his head, dismissing past memories of an 'easy' mother, and instead looked back up at the sky. With forest one side, and mountain on the other he felt extremely small. And as he watched the stars he saw one streak at a neck breaking pace across the sky, in a fiery tumult before it burned out and died. Susan jumped a little exictedly and clamped his eyes shut, thinking of what he was going to wish for... before whispering... almost PRAYING that he could have someone to share this with. "I wish i may, i wish i might, on the shooting star i saw tonight..." He raised his head and opened his eyes sincerely, completely and utterly focused on the sky abouve him, "I wish.... I wish.... I wish i could have someone to share this with.... forever.... please." Even to the imaginary wishing gods he made sure to be polite, made sure to make them like him.

After Susan had ditched him at the riverside, Xiang has spent a few minutes very confused, he didn't know enough about Su to even guess at the reason he had just left like that, and since his wings were wet, he couldn't fly across the river and chase after him. Though he did call after him, a few times, even using his full name, just once, but then deciding against that, if maybe that would drive him away further?
Xi had taken a step towards the water, but he couldn't then bring himself to enter it, he consoled himself with, maybe he had seen someone he knew, maybe he had to use the bushes, he'd come back... Xiang spread his wings so the sun could dry them and helped himself to a fish. No one was in sight and time passed, his wings dried and Su still had not returned. He had frowned, there were more fish than he could eat, and he couldn't carry them and look for the kid. He left them in a small pile and took to the skies, heading in the direction that he thought Su had went, and searched for over an hour, finding nothing, he had gone back and eaten further, still at a loss.
Over the next few days, Xi had tried searching him out again, sporadically scanning the ground from the air as he flew and even returning to the place in the woods that they had met, but there was no sign, almost as if he had not actually existed, or he really didn't want to be found again.
It was evening now, Xi had had a good hunting day, catching a fat rabbit just after sunrise and then again just a short while ago, he carried it with him as he strode along, looking for a place to bed down for the night when above a shooting star streaked across the sky. There in front of his eyes sat the one who had abandoned him, murmuring something to the sky. Xi was behind Su, quite a few yards off, now that he had found him again, Xiang pondered what to say, if anything. He wanted an answer though, a reason, lifting the rabbit again, it had dropped with the softest of plops from his mouth, he began walking again, heading in Su's direction.

Susan sat there for a few more minuted, just repeating his own little prayer, and then suddenly he stopped. He looked down at the dark earth, and the slightly red, but mostly black flower. He let out a heavy sigh... his shoulders moving up and down pathetically, before slumping in a heart wrenching manner. He waited for a few seconds... and then he realised, with a tear in his eye... maybe nothing was going to happen, maybe fate really DIDN'T step in when you needed it.... Letting a tear or two escape from his eyes he turned around, and looked up, getting ready to return to the spot where he had been, llifting his eyes up until finally they stopped, staring dead on at the gorgeous glowing male in front of him. He had been walking slowly until then, but just as suddenly as his eyes had stopped, his whole body stopped, and he stared, in open admiration at Xi. He looked up towards the sky in a breif second, full of disbeleif, he could have sworn that they stars almost twinkled at him a little brighter.... as if winking at him... He looked back down at Xi, a look of disbeleif still glued onto his face... and finally... as if lightning had struck him, he took a few bounding leaps and jumped Xi, squezing him tightly, thinking that this was more of a dream than it was reality.

Xiang has sat, setting the rabbit carcass to one side as he watched Su, he wondered what prayer he was whispering to the sky, he felt suddenly as if he was intruding into something that he should not be when he noticed that Su had begun to cry, So, perhaps there is another side to this one after all? Xiang thought to himself, as Su turned and noticed him. Xiang swallowed, he watched the expressions change across the face he had wanted to find again, in this passing week, unsure as to their meaning, "I hope I'm not-" but that was all of the apology that he could get out before he was tackled into the ground. "Su? Is everything alright?" He was quite taken aback at the reaction but he didn't say anything chiding the action, only expression his concern with a soft voice.

Susan coughed and rolled off and away from Xi, feeling like a complete and utter idiot. He got up stilla shaken and sat down, trying to not make contact with Xi... as if Susan had something on his face he was trying to hide. "no... No..." he said in a shakey voice, "nothing's wrong..." He looked back up at Xi, trying to seem as if everything were normal and he hadn't just glomped Xi. "It's nice to see you again Xi..." He lowered his eyes, and a sad look came over his face as he remembered why he'd run away from Xi in the first place. "I just wasn't expecting to see... that's all. I hope you're not mad at me..."

Xiang smoothed down his rumpled fur, "Over one tackle? Hardly, just don't make a habit of it and I won't get mad." Xiang was quiet for a moment, unsure what to say now that they were together again. "I hope I'm not intruding on your evening?" He questioned lowering his head and trying to gain eye contact with Su, he didn't understand the cause for the sadness and wasn't forward enough to just come out and ask him what it was all about. "If I am I can go on my way..."

Susan jumped slightly as he heard Xi's last comment. He rushed over to him a hastened manner shaking his head franticly. "No! NO! please... Pleas don't go! I- I- I- um... I don't want you thinking i don't like you or anything..."

Smiling and nodding, Xi relented easily, he didn't really want to leave. "So... Su, have you been well, these past few day, mmm, week? Yes, I think it's been a week, I was so surprised when you ran off, I looked for you, I was worried, you know. But it seems you're alright, yes?" He blinked rapidly for a moment, unsure still, at Su's mood and reactions.

Susan blushed deeply and smiled widely. "Really?" he asked slightly mesmerized. " You were worried?" He lowered his head and lifted it back up no one had ever been worried about him... maybe enough to ask if he were alright... but never enough to actually search for him... not even for more than hour... A week, that almost seemed ridiculous...what could Xi see in him to search so long???

"Well you just vanished! I heard you climb out of the water, or else I would have thought a fish had gobbled you up or something. With my wings wet I couldn't fly to find you, and in that short time, you were just, gone. Of course I worried." Xiang frowned, "What did happen?"

Susan lowered his head, feeling terrbile, and like an idiot. He almost didn't want to say that he'd been afraid that Xi had been mad at him... but he couldn't quite see any way around it if he wanted Xi to stay around with him. He sighed deeply and said "To be honest... I just... I just didn't want to see or hear you being mad at me... Stupid I know, but... it's true."

"Mad?" Xi had all but forgotten the splashing incident, he blinked at Su and couldn't think of anything to say, "I was hardly mad Su," the urge to chuckle bubbled up in his chest, but he held it in, knowing that Su wouldn't take well to being 'laughed at,' even if it was funny. "You should have stuck around, there were so many fish, I fear they almost went to waste, well I did enjoy them anyway. Oh, here," he looked down at the rabbit, "if you would like it, amends for that day, what do you think?"

Susan lifted his head, hope in his eyes. He tried keeping a staight face, but he couldn't help it as a small smile flitted across his face, and he shook his head. "Oh no Xi, i couldn't take away you're meal... I've already ruined on of your meals... i couldn't take away anouther one..." As soon as he was finishing up that statement, his stomach growled rather loudly, and he found himself blushing deeply. "But... you know... if you want to SHARE... I geuss that would be alright."

-Pftt- "Nothing was ruined, I enjoyed the fish, even if I had to eat alone. Anyway-" He paused when Su's stomach growled, "I insist, call it sharing if you want, but have some." Wish his paw, Xi pushed the rabbit at Su, it was still warm, as he had only just caught it. Xi then moved past Su, not leaving, just moving further into the clearing before laying down, stretched out, crossing his forepaws.

Susan stared down at the bunny with wide, sad eyes. He sniffled slightly, and fought back some tears, when he had been a child he would play with the wild animals that lived near him... and now... here was one... bloodied and dead. He gave out a silent sob as he tried not to smell it. He turned around and went over to where Xi was laying. Looking rather shaken, he shook his head and sat down. "I'm sorry... I can't eat that... I'm a vegetarean..."
