No matter, she had gotten her mother's looks. At least, in her eyes, she was the prettiest of the batch. Even through her envy, Aglaia held her head high with a vain attitude. She snubbed most other soquili, believing they truely weren't worth her time. Why should she rub shoulders with those under her?
She let out a deep sigh as she pondered such things while she walked along, her hooves taking her in no set direction or destination. Her 'uncle' would be very upset once he realized she was missing again, she just couldn't stand being under his over watchful eyes for long. He smothered her, trying to teach her things like respect and honor. She snorted, what a waste.

 Imriel shared none of Aglaia's envy towards his winged siblings. In fact, the little orange colt barely knew most of them, but those he did know that held wings... What did it matter? They could fly, but he could run faster, and in his opinion, he was far more handsome. He was still quite young, but he was already conceited enough about his immature tail feathers and rainbow sparkles. This conceit rarely manifested itself though.
Every day, Imriel wandered a bit further from the herd. Today he was still on herd lands, but far enough away that he felt adventurous and daring. He made up his own story as he went along, narrating it aloud.
"Then the big, brave stallion battled a mighty kalona. He dashed out with his sharp hooves. 'Hah, you're dead!' he called out as he vanquished the big, mean kalona!" Striking out at a log as he narrated, Imriel managed to scratch one of his legs. "Ow. Stupid kalona." Sulking now, the orange colt perked up as he spotted something in the distance, still close enough for him to awkwardly run up to. It was another foal!
"Hi. What are you doing here? I'm Imriel. This is where my herd lives." She was funny looking, all black with a green and blue mane and tail. She didn't look anything like his siblings, with their bright colors and embellishments. Did this mean not all soquili were as colorful as his family? How boring!

Her head shot up as she realized something was running towards her, her ears pivoted as she searched for the origin of the sound, then her eyes spotted a very bright orange foal, she grumbled under her breath.
She stood there silent as she looked over the friendly colt, her nose twitched before she answered. He looked..okay. "I'm Aglaia...and I'm walking." Her answer short and to the point. A 'didn't you know' tone underlining her voice.
"Really? My family lives around here, at the base of the mountains." she hadn't had many friends in her life, and she wasn't good at conversing with others...at all. She held her head up a little higher than she should, and her answers were too short to be very friendly. "What do you want?" she snapped out without thinking.
