 The pain was becoming unbearable. He couldn't believe it. It happened. The one thing that he thought was truly unheard of. Echo could barely move, he rested his large black muzzle on a nearby fern. That was just about all he could do now. At least he dragged himself away from the open where another large carnivore would have made short work of him. The gashes on his sides were deep, and blood had splashed across his crest obscuring its beautiful color. "I knew I never should have taken on a bull moose alone," he whimpered. His body was now becoming numb and he could barely move a muscle. He wished for one thing, that help would come. He raised his snout to the sky and let out a high pitched roar, a cry for help. Silence. He let another out another louder one with the last strength he could muster. Still silence. Tears came to his eyes and he felt the world spin. The words on his lips, "I've become comfortably numb."

Not too far away, a dark figure was feasting upon a freshly brought down wolf. Most of it was fur, but he could get to some of the meaty parts. Prey was prey, it didn't matter to him. As he ate, he heard distant cries of pain persist to interrupt his meal. It annoyed him. Greatly. It wasn't Shaiya or Constantine, and he knew that Anastacia wouldn't be dumb enough to let Anna get hurt. So what bumbling idiot would?
Sighing, he finished up as much as he could before leaving the partial carcass behind. If there was still time, he would come back for it later. Te'Rah's massive feet seemed to float as he moved, spiked, feathered mo-hawk not even flinching at the wind or brush. The scent of raptor blood filled his nostrils as he came closer to the source: a black and rainbow male that got himself wounded.
Idiot.
Rolling his eyes, Te'Rah heard the last of his speech. "Comfortably numb?" The male snorted. "That's kinda pathetic." With as so much as a snort, he came over, inspecting the other's wounds. "Oh stars, it's just a flesh wound. Stop being such a baby." He pressed his snout against them. They were deep, but he would live. Scars and all. "Grow a pair and stop the whining..."
So much for bed side manners.

Echo felt the world come back into focus. He saw a blue raptor with a large purple mohawk bending over him. He stranger snorted and called him a "baby." Echo looked at the blue lanky stranger with gratitude, he got what he wished for, help. Though he felt deeply hurt by this raptor's comments. He didn't know what to say or how to say it. All he could get out was, "Thanks," as he bit down on his tongue to keep himself from letting out a howl of pain. Though he felt like saying, "Nice to know that you didn't notice the broken ribs, and oh if you where in my position I bet you'd be feeling the pain and whining about how you bravely fought the moose." Echo knew those man games that many male raptors played and it sickened him that this raptor, even when faced with one of his own kind badly wounded, wouldn't put the posing aside. The blue raptor helped him to feet. As they walked back to the pack Echo didn't feel very talkative and just let the stranger ramble all the way there.

 "Well by the stars what happened to you two?" speaking more to the injured looking black and rainbow male then to te'rah..Reena had just been coming back from a hunt with her fellow pack mates, Raziel and the others, theyd gone ahead while shed chosen to go on a different path and walk off her fat little meal. She hadnt been expecting to find anyone else along the way but hearing the voices of two other males she couldnt help but be curious and come investigate. "Poor thing, he looks so hurt..You didnt do that to him did you?" she didnt really know te'rah well but she made it a point to avoid males like him..though he was obviously strong looking...had good genetics..and was well kind of cute, his personality even from a distance seemed to be lacking in compassion.

Te'Rah simply ignored him as they walked, keeping the other in balance as they went along. His nose tickled when another scent, a female it seemed. Sure enough, source in question came into view, obviously worried about the "baby". He had to mentally keep himself in check from rolling his eyes.
Shaking his head a little, he eyed her. "And why, my dear, would I waste my time with him?" He gave a light sigh stopping in front of her. He looked over at the black and rainbow for a second before turning his attention back to the female. "You wanna adopt him, Red? Take his whiny butt away from me?" He practically begged, his half-filled stomach starting to protest being here.

Reena snorted giving the purple male a distasteful look "My names not red thank you very much, its Reena!" she pouted childishly not liking his nick name one bit "Id rather deal with his whiny-butt then your sour attitude" she huffed, unsure of what kind of conversation had gone on between the two males but te-rah didnt seem to care for the black male much at all! "Really what happened to compassion for your fellow lizard eh! Che so heartless" she tsk'd the tip of her tail flicking with slight agitation, one large hunting talon clicking against the ground as she turned her gaze to the injured black male again, really she wouldnt mind helping him out, she had nothing better to do and reenas mentality was that one raptor should care for another..true she was called a softie for it but that was just how she worked!

Te'Rah simply rolled his eyes. "Alright, Reena." He stressed out her name, looking over at her. "Then take him off my hands. It's not my fault he's dumb enough to go after something that's WAY bigger than him. A smart raptor wouldn't put himself in this situation." At her chiding, he gave a soft snort, his lips lifting to reveal gum and teeth. "My compassion died when my life did." He never did like bringing up his past...his family for that matter. There were many things about him he tried to hide...and this female wasn't helping.

I'm sorry about god modding :/ didn't realize i was doing it
Echo heard the blue raptor say (My compassion died when my life did). This was something that made him realize that this was not a fully self centered raptor with ego issues. The blue male must in pain, over some past event. Regaining some cognition Echo saw the red female. She was very pretty but at the time Echo was a bit too delirious to take too much notice of her. He looked up at the blue raptor, and said, "You know I owe you for helping me, and you are right about going after the bull moose. It was a stupid and cocky thing to. I know you want me off your hands and I'm sorry I am an inconvenience." He tried to stand but stumbled a bit. Echo finally was able to retrieve enough strength to stand on his own. Echo started to limp down the path from the two raptors. Looking back at the blue male he said, "I miss judged you, something truly terrible must have happened to you and I need not feel sorry for myself. I hope someday I can repay my debt to you."

Reena growled softly Te'rah had such an attitude. "Id love to take him off your hands! Che come on everyone makes mistakes sometimes..and sometimes our 'egos' get the better of us" stressing the word as her tail swished behind her. "Grruuu...maybe you should try getting a new life eh, be just a little optimistic!" she sighed blinking tilting her head as the other male started off looking more then just a little wobbly..."Ehh.." the black male was he appologizing to them for making a mistake? She was a bit unsure of it, "ah hey wait! Im coming along" he shouldnt be going off on his own.

He simply stood watching the two raptors slowly, the female going to join Echo. His words seemed to annoy him slightly. The fact that he had caught on to what he went through was well...unsettling. Shaking his head, the punk only watched them for a moment before rolling his eyes. Brushing past Reena, he took his place beside the black and rainbow male, being the supportive shoulder again, careful of the wound and blood. "At this rate, you'll be picked off my predators. If you wish, I have a cave not far from here that we may all rest and relax. There's some food there too..." What was Te'Rah doing? Why was he being so nice? He swallowed a snarl waiting on Reena, and waiting for Echo to catch his breath. They would move as a unit whenever all were ready.

"Ooh so now you decide to be kind! I think your trying to show me up Te'Rah" reena said grumpily only teasing te'rah, there was a smile on her face as she walked over to stand by echos uninjured side offering up the extra support of another raptor "I say we should take him there, whether he wishes or not...honestly he cant go on like this he'll just hurt himself more" or as te'rah said get picked off by a predator be it another raptor or something bigger, they werent the only carnivores in the area.

It seemed that Te'Rah had a change of heart. For this he was truly grateful. Echo hoped his words had touched the troubled raptor. He hoped that maybe he could help Te'Rah heal wounds from whatever tragity befell him. It was more likely though that he was being kind to impress the red female, but he hoped it was for the first reason. He was also grateful that the red female had found them. And just in time too he started to feel disoriented. She helped support one side just as he was about to teeter over onto it. He could tell the bleeding was less than it had been a few minutes ago. Te'Rah quickly joined her and took on the other side. Echo looked over at the female and said, "Thank you, this really helps, what is your name?"

"Reena" she chirped grinning proudly, she thought her name was rather pretty had always liked it really "Just glad we could help" she said happily tail tip swishing slightly with joy. "So you know my name but I have no clue who you are..I dont think ive ever seen you around..." he did seem like a bit of a loner, maybe that was why hed gotten attacked and been stuck hunting on his own..though raptors were generally pack animals.

"Ya I usually hunt alone........and........uhhhhhh." Echo started to shiver and cough. He couldn't even finish his sentence. He hoped they'd reach the cave.....and not a moment too soon. The sun was starting to set. He shivered again and murmered apologetically, "Sorry about that Reena I'm not really with it, uhhhh.... I'll tell you when we get to the cave." He let out another nast cough. Uhhhhh....Te'Rah.... how far ouuuur wee? From the crave?" Echo's words stared to become slurred.

Te'Rah quietly listened in on the conversation, his feet gently padding against the terrain. At the question, he shrugged. "Not far, I suppose." As if to agree with his words, the smell of wolf carcass wafted through the flora. He tapped his talon for a moment before leaving Reena with Echo to clear the brush away from the cave. Once a clear path was presented to them both, Te'Rah set to work on cleaning the cave entrance as well as the innards trying to make it as comfortable as possible. "Get him in, quick." He commanded, looking over at Echo and Reena. "The wound may be infected. He could be sick."
