 I'm sure everyone's hyped up for this game. I don't have a lot of information on it at the moment, but I'll tell you what I DO know. (Referenced from the Final Fantasy wiki, because my English is bad.) =__= It's for the PSP, and I'm fairly sure that it was spawned due to the series' 20th anniversary. The game will reunite characters from other installments of the Final Fantasy series. Chaos will make an appearance as the god of discord, while a new character, Cosmos, will appear as the goddess of harmony. Dissidia is an action-based fighting game mixed with RPG elements. Battles take place on full 3D fields with a destroyable environment which regenerate after some time and build up to its original form. Destroying pillars and other objects builds up character's Brave meter. So far the plot revolves around a pairing of one hero and one villain from each of the Final Fantasy games up until the 10th installment. Although designed by Tetsuya Nomura, their clothing heavily references Yoshitaka Amano's original illustrations of both heroes and villains. The Dissidia artwork poster featuring all the villains was completed by Yoshitaka Amano. It features Garland (below the logo), Golbez (behind the logo), Kuja (to the left of Cosmos), Emperor Mateus Palamecia (above Kuja), Ultimecia (above Emperor Mateus), Sephiroth (in the center), Jecht (in between both Emperor Mateus and Sephiroth), Kefka (behind Chaos), Cloud of Darkness (above Kefka) and Exdeath (above Cloud of Darkness). There is some evidence that suggests the villains arraignment on the poster may be related to the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, or more accurately its shadow, the Qliphoth (Tree of Death). Uwee-hee-hee! I'm liking what I'm hearing already! They even have a trailer with me in it. Neat, huh!?

Not that I know of. It's still not even out in Japan yet, so I can imagine it'll be a while before it hits the US. ;-;

It's coming out in Japan December 18, but we really don't even know if they'll release it elsewhere at all, let alone soon. Oh, I hope so~. gonk
What do y'all think of the voice actors from the past games? I'm really glad with Zidane, especially. I think it's interesting to hear the different ways characters say "I" in Japanese, too. I'm immensely surprised that Kuja doesn't use "watashi," whereas I know Sephiroth does. (For anyone who doesn't know, that's a sort of girly way to refer to yourself in Japanese. And I quote from a website, "a lot of pretty boy villains use it.")

Ooh! Thanks for the information, Ravenwolf. I'm almost positive the release will expand to America, though, so I'm not worrying about it too terribly much.
Kefka's voice actor was a bit off, but it's kind of what I imagined him to vaguely sound like anyways. Zidane had a GREAT voice, as did Firion, Palamecia, Squall, and Ultimecia (especially.) I wonder what Jecht will sound like? I haven't heard much of him thus far... I just hope we can say the same about the voice actors America gets.
((And yes, males usually say 'boku' as I. The gender roles in Japanese grammar confused the hell out of me when I first started learning it. >.o Interesting point made, though.))

I'm getting this game just because of Kefka.
Heheh, just kidding! It really does look like a great game! I need a PSP. sad
I'm interested in how they're going to tie everybody together...

I'm sort of worried because the release is only a few months away; it's getting kind of late for an announcement, isn't it? If they don't announce it by the Tokyo Game Show, at least, I'll really start worrying. I mean, I was surprised we didn't get Final Mix+, so who knows. Ultimecia I noticed was great, but I really didn't like Squall. Of course, that's possibly because I already had a very clear idea of what I thought his voice should be, albeit in English. It was very similar to Cloud's, actually. Didn't Jecht already have a voice in X? It'll probably be the same person.

Eep, I hope that's not the case...
And I mean as far as Japanese. xD I'm sorry if I worded that wrong. I've been trying like hell to get the International version of FFX for the longest time now for the little things like that, but it looks like there's no light at the end of the tunnel for me on that. >.o I know what you mean about Squall's voice, though. He and Cloud are both somewhat similar characters, so I can see where you're coming from on that.
You think they'll use the guys that did their voices on Kingdom Hearts? D:

The scene with Squall and Tidus talking makes me super excited for other-game character interaction. <33
Especially Zidane and Tidus. I can see them becoming pals. 8D I totally squeed when it showed them fighting together with the whole leg-tail throw thing.
I like Steve Burton as Cloud, so I hope he reprises the role. I just pray that Zidane's English voice is tolerable. -.-'

Ravenwolf It's coming out in Japan December 18 I'd been wondering where the word "Dissidia" originated, and today I happened to hear the word "dissidence." Dictionary.com Dissidence: Disagreement; dissent; separation from the established religion. Duh. v_v

I'd be kinda shocked if they didn't release Dissidia outside Japan. It'd probably make loads of cash, which is really what it boils down to, in the end.
I really hope that they won't change the voice actors for X. I've heard a lot of people complain about them, but I think it'd be kinda awkward to hear a different sound coming from their mouths.
