Moloch stalked through the forest, slinking from tree to tree and slashing at any bushes that dared get in his way with his sharp hooves and horn. This was his forest, his, and how dare they get in his way! He snorted and stopped by a stream. Warily, he paused, ears strained for any noise, and looked around him. Nobody in sight. Good; it would be safe to drink. He bowed his head and awkwardly drank, doing his best to keep his horn out of the way, all the while ready to jump up and fight at a moments notice.

Nightshade glided through the air silently, feeling a sort of freedom he rarely felt while on the ground. Usually listening to the problems of the local plant life gave him a headache, so unless there was something in it for him he generally ignored their call. It was for this reason that, when wounded plants cried out against their violent treatment from another Fallen, he decided to check it out. He was not checking on them for their sakes, but for his, because they had also mentioned a stream and he was parched.
Descending in lazy circles, he spied a dark shape by the stream, one the he supposed must have harmed the plants. Although he could not yet discern much, he could tell that the other Fallen was most likely a stallion and did not look like an especially friendly sort. Dredging up some manners, he allowed his wings to flap noisily as he prepared to land a healthy distance away; after all, startling people was a good way to make a bad impression.

Floki was now walking in the direction he saw Nightshade fly. He was tired from galloping after him and any way he lost him from sight. He loved his brother even though they were not blood related for Floki was adopted. But he held Nightshade's actions irresponsible for future herd leader considering he was no more a child. He kept this thoughts to him self not wanting to anger Nightshade and followed him everywhere in case he gets himself in some kind of trouble and needs help.

she could smell them, and the stench was only growing as the collected pheromones of more Star started to gather into one aria. though as much of a distaste as she had for the scent, it brought forth fond memories of her times among groups of Star. usually gentle, kind creatures, and my how they screamed. the innocent had the most delicious of screams.
Kalida was far down stream from where the water was carrying the scents. she had gotten a mouthful of it before her head jerked back with disgust. her long forked tongue flicking out from her lips. after a long moment of deliberation. Kalida decided that it had been far to long since she heard someone scream. and with out so much as a flick of her bobbed tail. she stepped into the stream, and followed it up to were the scent was.

Moloch continued to drink, although he could easily hear the wing beats of the stallion. He watched him land out of the corner of his eye; healthy, large wings... it would be hard to take him by surprise. And harder still to attack him without the other star taking off. But it had to be done; it simply would not do to have the other star fly over his forest. He would have to be taught of a lesson.
Moloch raised his head from the water and fixed the youth with an icy stare. "Who are you?" he growled, all of his attention on the stallion.

Nightshade realized that the dark stallion’s voice was not friendly, and he saw that his horn looked like a rather handy weapon. Although he could fly, he decide it best not to antagonize the Arcturus.
“ My name is Nightshade and I have come here following the earth’s call. I was unaware that this area was anyone’s territory and I-” here Nightshade realized that Floki was not too far away,” we are sorry to intrude if such is the case.”
He had quickly realized that saying the truth - that he had come for water - would most likely prove to not be a particularly wise decision. Instead, he chose the reason that was neutral and partly true, hoping that an action that might benefit the other stallion would lessen the chance of getting hurt.

Floki heard voices and hastened up in they're direction. When he came to the end of the woods he slowed down and stopped just few steps away from the last tree. He didn't like the scene he saw and although the distance between them was big he was glad a stream crossed they're path for this new star looked dangerous and not too friendly. He was thankful for the years spent with Ivy for he grew larger and stronger than average stars but still he didn't know it he could withstand the stranger. So he stood calmly and tried not to do anything offensive.
'' I greet you. My name is Floki. ''

The Elder's hears fanned forward smoothly when she started picking up on voices, her sloshing stride though the stream never once faltering, or changing speed, continuing at an indifferent leisurely pace. slitted red eyes narrowing slightly, once again licking the air to test how close the scent of the star were. not far. her scaly back and neck the only things what could be seen above water, very much giving her the apprentice of a serpent slithering in the water. she only stopped when she was close enough to fully hear what they were saying, not going any further until she got an idea of what was going on, and who they were... one thing she could tell off the bat, was that they were all Male.

Moloch slicked back his ears at the mention of "we." Granted, this... Nightshade... was showing the proper deference for an intruder, but how many did he mean by "we"? Two? Three? An entire herd? Moloch had a great deal of confidence in himself and his ability to fight, but he was no fool. Still, it couldn't be a very large herd, or perhaps they were too far away to reach this Nightshade in time. Why else would Nightshade be so apologetic? There was no rational explanation.
He turned as Floki introduced himself, and examined this second intruder carefully. He was bigger and stronger than most stars Moloch had met, and Moloch was starting to reconsider his original plan to attack Nightshade. Granted, this "Floki" character was unable to fly, but he had horns and Moloch was not in the mood to take on two stars, not when one could attack from above. But they showed a certain hint of fear; that was interesting, perhaps they were inexperienced fighters and could be intimidated. Even fought and chased out of the forest, if it came to that. Scared badly, like the small, insolent brats they were.
"I am Moloch," he said, drawing himself up proudly, "and you are intruding on my territory. Normally I would ki-punish you for such an offense, but I'm sure we can come to some kind of peaceful arrangement." And here he smiled, a gradual baring of his teeth. Oh yes, there was a great deal he could do with these two.

There were times that Nightshade envied Floki’s size and this was one of them. Why was it that he, the blood child of Poison Ivy, was smaller then he, his adopted brother? He was aware that his Solara heritage was to blame – hauling a large bulk through the air would not be easy – but it did not stop him from wishing that he too could be taller then the average Star.
When Moloch mentioned the possibility of a peaceful arrangement, Nightshade nearly sighed in relief. Truth be told, he had been in very few fights and had a strong dislike of pain, so he was quite happy to avoid a confrontation. Suspecting that staying in the air any longer would be quite rude, and possibly ruin the generous mood that had stolen over the other Star, Nightshade finally landed.
“ I am grateful that you will refrain from punishing me and I am certain that any agreement we may make would benefit us both.” Seeing as how he was both alive and unhurt, Nightshade was aware that he was unlikely to receive any further benefits and couldn’t help but wonder what he might offer Moloch in return. Thanks to his bloodline he had a rare ability, it was true, but he didn’t know many Stars that would term his ability a gift. After all, whom would find joy in toxic plants save those immune to them?

Floki liked situation he was in even less after he heard the conversation. What kind of arrangement, what kind of benefit, what was going on. And what kind of star was this Moloch. He was glad that Nightshade was distanced enough from Moloch and only hopped he knew what he was doing. His eyes followed every move Moloch made and his ears started to search for any sound around him that would uncover any hidden star be it Moloch's ally or just one more wanderer and prevent any unwanted surprises. Suppressing his fear he prepared his muscles for any needed action but didn't move and decided not to speak if it's not necessary.

Slipping down further into the water, drifting off to take some cover in the long branches that leaned over the waters edge, using the leaves to hopefully umbrella her until she was satisfied with what she knows about the males. brushing the branches out of her way quietly with her horns, her slitted red eyed wide as she peered out of what she could see of the Star... three of them, two dark, one an earthy color. they looked young no doubt, and the way they spoke to one another, definitively gave that away. her lips curling into a cruel smirk around her fangs. Kalida settled into the bush to see what elce she could learn.

Moloch relaxed slightly. All was going well, although the wording of his next statement was critical. "We will be... allies." His lips curled at the words. Disgusting; they should serve him. But it was best that they continued to think themselves at least somewhat equal to him, even if that was not the case. "I will pardon this intrusion, and the occasional further intrusion - within reason, of course - as long as you come to my aid in times of need. You may drink from my streams as you pass through, even graze, but you will always report to me when you know I am near. You have wings, Nightshade; I ask only that you let me know if you have seen any danger to me - or my territory - during your travels and in return, I will aid you. I will..." he debated this last bit. It was necessary, to make sure Nightshade returned. Preferably without Floki. "I will not attack you as long as you stay true, and you may seek refuge within my forest," he managed to get out through gritted teeth.
Still, much as he hated pardoning these disgusting lower beings for their intrusion - and let them pass through again later! - this was bound to pay off in the long run. Yes, they would serve him. They would be his, he would use their strengths to supplement his own. And yes, he would protect them, but only as long as they proved useful.

The offer seemed fair enough, especially considering what little Nightshade had gleaned about the other Fallen’s character. However, as it stood the arrangement was lopsided, and accepting it now would put Nightshade in debt, granting to Moloch the chance to make further demands of him in the future; that would not do. Surely there was something he could offer, some deed he might do to even the score without much labor on his part. Then it struck him.
“ It would be my honor to call you my ally. You offer me much, and your terms I accept. As proof of my good will, I shall offer further service, if it pleases: to remove from your lands those plants of foul taste and deadly virtue.”
Nightshade had neglected to mention the extent of his abilities, but such a convenient slip of his mind would hardly be noticed, save by those who knew him best. Although he could hear the earth’s call he rarely acted on it, and thus few knew that he had inherited even part of his mother’s ability.

Moloch ears perked forward at this last. Perhaps it was best that he had not attacked Nightshade right off the bat; he would have to bear this in mind for future reference. He would also have to bear in mind that Nightshade was capable of such things.
"I accept," he said, "although I would rather you left the foul plants that are near the border of my territory. They shall offer a handy ring of protection." And warn off further intruders, he added to himself.
