Poza yawned as she uncurled from beside her son, easily bigger than she was at this point in time. Though every day he was just a reminder to how big of a fool she was, how easily she and Afiya had become friends... how fast that friendship had turned into accidental romance and then her friend he fleed off into the lands of the wild. She sight softly as she leaned down to groom at her adult son's head, slipping away in a quiet and calm manner. She had gotten to know his mother very well while she waited, with the slim hope that he would return... that they could work things out, perhaps even be a family. It did not happen, she grew tired of waiting and had pushed her heart back into the darkness where she thought it would be safe, thankful she had not been as depressed as when such a similar occurance had happened in her past.

She smiled up toward the sky, a few hours and the sun would set. Asaya would wake and again they would journey, Poza was hoping to gain a home for herself and was quite pleased when her boy had followed her out of Afiya's mother's lands, deciding he did not want to stick around for a father he'd never seen. She took a deep breath of the slightly warmed air, already cooling off as the sun was beginning to sink, and her light blue orbs swayed over the horizon, looking for that good termite mound to sit upon. She was a little hungry, it had been quite a few days since she'd hunted. Asaya was quite a good hunter, despite the fact that she thought she was a poor teacher, and together they managed.

They would manage... just she and him. She smiled thoughtfully and a bit sadly, knowing it couldn't last forever. One day a girl would catch her sons eye, she was sure of it. She hoped for his sake she was a nice female, not one who would leave him in the dust while she pursued what she thought to be better things in life. She lept toward the top of the mound, glad she'd found this small spot. They weren't too from a small watering hole, perhaps a twenty minute walk. That and she could see for quite a while around the lands just on the mound, once full of life and now deserted. Her tail flicked as she sat herself, squinting as she spotted something in the distance. Waterbuck? Zerbra? Gazelle? Her mouth was watering just thinking of all the posibilities, she hoped this evening would be a good one to hunt on.

((I have no cert for him yet, but you know what he looks like.))
Oh crap, it was getting dark out! The sun's setting! Lime green eyes latched west, watching it sink slowly. He was running out of time! Zambarau'Kauta darted quickly this way and that, eyes on the ground in search of something in particular. A stone, a pretty stone. He could turn it into another necklace or something... Any variety would do, he just had to find one.

He stopped for a moment, he remembered this spot. Sitting back on his haunches, the dusty cheetah's eyes scanned the ground meticulously, searching for what he sought. He was completely oblivious to all around him, except for a pretty pebble.

He gave a little jump suddenly, slamming his paw down as if on something that was trying to escape. He contracted it and lifted it up- a pebble with some shiny things in it- perfect! He tucked it into his paw and walked carefully, being sure that he wouldn't lose it. He was heading to a familiar water hole, where he could hide his rock and catch himself some dinner... But he saw a figure perched there. With a headtilt, the male continued forward.

Immediately Poza could tell that it was not a zebra, or anything she would like to eat. She sighed slightly as she shifted, sinking lower to the termite mound. No, even with just the small bursts of activity she thought she could tell it was another cheetah, and she was not very sure she was in the mood to meet another. She was focussed so hard on not being seen she did not quite realize the male was headed right for the watering hole she was so close to. Her tail flicked only once, but she had become good at stalking while hunting with Afiya's mother, while staying in such calm lands. Rogue lands were different, there was always the potential of danger.

She started to peak her head up just a bit but jerked it back down when she spotted him looking her way and she hissed to herself, feeling annoyed. He'd already not-- wait a minute! She sat straight up and peered at him again, unashamed that she was staring. What was with all of the.. the.. sparkly things? Around his paws and neck... what was he? Her own head tilted, almost mimicking his expression, and she shifted, crawling back to the top of the termite mound and leaping to the ground. She shook dust off of her coat as she darted toward the watering hole, though she maneuvered her body so that she would be able to watch him as he drank, as well as get a drink herself. It seemed as though she was trying to figure out all of the rocks and gems... and was that a flower? If his scent was not clearly male she would have thought him another female, if only from the flower.

:W-what..." She stumbled over her words though, still very confused by his look. "What the hell are you doing?" She finally let out, her words were not harsh... they were just a little blunt. She'd never seen a cheetah like him before, so it was easy to get so surprised!

Zam kept his pace steady as he stalked closer to the water. The closer he got, the more clear the figure was, another cheetah. "Hey there!" he said with a friendly smile, turning his attention towards the other. Within a few steps, the pebble loosed itself from his grasp, which caused him quickly to stumble over it.

"Oh!" He hurried back and snatched it up again, lodging it back between his pawpads. Yes, it would make a lovely pendant. And then she spoke. His brows furrowed a touch at the bluntness of it. "Well... I was gonna..." He paused, thinking that this should be overly obvious. He glanced over at the pool then back at the cheetah. "You know, get a drink? This isn't your water hole, is it?" He asked abruptly, eyes widening, hoping he wasn't invading on someone's territory. Though, to claim to own water so isolated out here would be a little cruel, in his mind, but he still wasn't in the mood for a fight. Not with his pretty stone.

Poza blinked and her expression became slightly embarrassed, because he thought she didn't realize something like he was taking a drink! Was he serious? "No I meant.." But her tone was a little weak and she stopped as she spotted him stumble slightly. She moved forward and craned her neck, trying to see what it was he had.

As he looked back to her she tried to move back into a more normal position. "Of course this isn't my watering hole!" She blurted out, further embarrassed. Why would he think such a thing? Oh misunderstandings! "I meant.." Her voice softened and she gestured with her chin. "I simply meant... I mean, I've never seen.." She trailed off though, just staring him the eyes sitting on the opposite side of the pool of water. Oh bother, she should have just slinked back off to her son!

"Never mind." She muttered darkly, pointedly turning her face away from him. Still, what was all that junk? She leaned her head just a little so she could continue watching him from the corner of her vision, wondering if he really did just want a drink. Her stomach gave a loud rumble and she coughed, leaning down to the water to drink.

"Well that's good." He said, eyes narrowing back up to the regular size. "I didn't mean to intrude on anyone's land is all." He explained simply. He watched her with a slightly tilted head as she spoke, only to say nevermind. He gave a little tilted nod of his head at that before he padded forth, bangles clinking gently as he took a few more steps forward to get to the water's edge. Each step was careful, he was mindful of the stone to make sure he didn't lose it again.

He took a few laps to quench his thirst before turning back to her with a sheepish grin. He sat down, as if turning around and sitting down at the same time was the most natural combination of movements one could do with their body. "Well, to be honest with you, I was kinda hoping to set up camp around this water hole. That doesn't bother you, does it?" His tail flicked lightly. A realization passed across his face before he continued, "Oh! I'm Zambarau'Kauta, or just Zam."
