Pendence sighed softly as his gaze followed after his bright and playful mate. She had danced into his life, turned it upside down and made it suite her...all with just a smile, never knowing how much she impacted him. A soft chuckle escaped him as he watched her talking to the butterfly that had landed on the end of her nose.
She truly was the one pure thing he had met in his long, rough life. A black ear flicked as he thought back to all the changes Hugs had brought to his life. He had been so angry and bitter before her, hating everyone and trusting nothing. Then one bright day a cheerful voice calling him that blasted nickname stopped him in his tracks. She had given him two beautiful sons and now one of them were about to give them grandchildren!
Which reminded him... "Hugs love, please come here. I need to talk to you."

 Bright pink eyes blinked over at her darker mate around the large yellow butterfly wings. "Yes Penny." Giggling softly, she shook her head to dislodge the butterfly before trotting to his side looking up at him.
Penny was the best! He loved her and watched over her. Hugs leaned into his warmth happily, her long tail swishing like a happy dogs."Yes Penny? What did you want to tell Hugs?"

Pen huffed faintly, trying not to smile, " Hugs, how many times have I told you not to refer to yourself in third person or call me Penny?" He really didn't care anymore but it was an old familiar routine that amused him. She would always say yes Penny , Hugs will try better and then he would sigh and give up until the next time.
"You remember when Liberty came to see us love?" He was never sure how much she remembered from day to day. "He said he had something to tell us, well it seems like he and his mate are going to be having little ones of their own." He couldn't contain the pride in his voice. He knew he hadn't been the best father but he had tried to be there while taking care of Hugs.

Hugs nodded "Yes Penny, Hugs will try better." She blinked when he chuckled in amusement but smiled too. Whenever her Penny was happy, Hugs was happy too. At his question she nodded, beaming "Libby came to see Hugs. He said he loves Hugs, which is good cause Hugs loves him too! He is our baby!"
She knew he was no longer a baby, but he was still her baby. Her eyes widned comically at the news. " You mean there will be little Libby's like we had little Penny and Hugs?!" At his nod she nickered happily tossing her head. "Little great Penny and Hugs!! This is wonderful! Hugs is so happy!"
