Taken from ther shop, uh....Ceres' family welcome ^_^ Promt: Quote: + Ceres: *Ceres tossed and turned as she tried to go to sleep. The absence of the distant whispers of her parents told her they too had gone to sleep, and it was late for her to be up. Looking at her sleeping siblings, she got up and traveled down to the water hole near the families sleeping place.
Once there, she laped at the water for a few seconds, then wiping her maw, she sat back and sighed looking up at the sky.*+ Sandy: ~Circles around the water hole, another late night for the glowing lioness. Peering down she spots the cub looking up and makes her descent~+ Ceres: *Ceres was distracted from the stars as she saw a strange light comming near her. As whatever it was came nearer, Ceres stood up incase she had to flee quickly. Her parents never knew she came down here at night for a little clarity, and she wantted to keep it that way.
Soon though, Ceres saw a figure of a lioness apear, and steped back a little to give her room. She respected her elders....lion or dragons, so she would wait to let the lioness talk first. She wasn't afraid though, cause the soft glow she had to her seemed to sooth Ceres more than frighten her.*+ Sandy: ~Smiles as her paws gently touch down, one of her more graceful landings. Steping closer she recognized the pup as the ball of fluff her friend had been playing with a few days previous.~ "Evening little rebel, like me and can't sleep?"

Ceres: *Ceres nodded. The lioness' glow was pretty.* "Yes....it's been difficult lately. Oh, I am Ceres by the way Ms." *Ceres bowed her head. Her mother had taught her manners well, and she rarely got to use them around the family.

A chuckle escaped from Sandy's lips, it may of been late but she still had plenty of energy to spend and why not with the little pup? "Sandy, please I've never been good with formalities. It's nice to meet you little Ceres, difficult? Yea I know that one." Sits next the little orange fluff ball, she really wanted to call her that but it wouldn't of been very nice and the girl was obviously in need of some quiet, mature company, Sandy would try her best.

Ceres, seeing as the lioness clearly wasn't going to eat her (or so Chalce told her some Lionesses did to poor little pups sometimes), sat down next to the lioness as she had done earlier.
"You too?" Ceres said, "Must be monumental compaired to mine..."
Ceres looked up to the sky as she said this. Her problem at the moment was just trying to figue out what had caused some new kind of feeling inside of her chest. It seem to be any kind of physical pain, but whenever she thought of a particular person, it seemed to show up and stay for a while.

Sandy joined the pup looking up at the skies, a brief flash of her past and all the choices and hardship she'd endured passed quickly through her mind as her voice softened and seemed to loose it usual bouncy tone. "We all do... Everyone has their difficulties Ceres." She turned as her smile returned the happy thought of coming to the Isle and getting a new chance to be herself without any of the past to lurk over her. With a slight hint of her usual tone she carried on "Just got to get through it, then either enjoy the results or put it in the past and move on." A quick wink and she flicked her wings, Sandy giving advice? She'd never of seen this a few years back but that was the way of life, everyone had to grow up and there would always be someone younger... less experienced and seemly in need.
"Must be a biggy to keep you up this late though, your usually quite the active girl, like me, aren't you?" Her smile expanded showing her teeth but in a friendly and reassuring way, she wasn't here to do bad by others just talk or use up energy till either one of them was ready for sleep time.

As the lioness spoke, Ceres remembered just why she was out there. She lowered her head from the lioness' gaze, but the light she emitted lit up Ceres' face, and she could see in the water's reflection that her orange face turned a little red. She felt a rush an involintary of warmth go through her little body as she noticed this.
"W-well..." she began, but she had no idea why she was so nervous, "it's just that...I...well..."
She swore that she was turning so red her little swirls were fading. But she dug up a lot of courage and spit it out.
"I have a pain in my chest." she said slowly and quietly, "But it only goes away if I am not thinking about this person...or if I see him...I've tried to do many things!
"At first I'd eat some stuff to make it go away, but it didn't! But then I came to the conclusion that it wasn't physical, but mental...that's why sometimes, like tonight, I just can't help but muse over it!"
Ceres laied down and covered her head with her paws. She was a drama queen at times, but this really made her want it over with.
She then looked up at the lioness and then smiled awkwardly.
"Sorry...." she said smiling sheepishly, "I shouldn't burden you with this..."

Listening as Ceres seemed to struggle with revealing her issues Sandy let out a snort at the last part "Burden? Don't be silly, I like to listen and helping should never be seen as a burden! Sounds like you've got yourself a crush." Getting to her paws the lionesses expression changed to that of a detective with a case to solve, a glint in her eye and the pondering scrunched up maw.
"So this feeling, it only comes when you think about said person" She pawed back and forth in her playful case solving. "Are their butterfly's in your stomach too?" Peers to Ceres with a questioning smile.

"Butterflies...." Ceres thought.
"That's a good way of putting it...." she said to the lioness.
Suddenly, she wasn't so shy anymore, and was feeling like she could open up more to this lioness.
"It's like..." Ceres said closing her eyes and thinking of the person. She breathed deeply and let it out, "It's like when I think of him, I get happy....really happy...and when I am near him, I get happier too...and this fluttering happens in my chest!
"When I play with him, I can't help but smile," Ceres said lifting her head and opening her eyes to see the star filled sky, "and when I am out late, to the point of Mama coming to get me, he lets me sit by him...and that makes me so...warm..."
"However," Ceres said lowing her head, "when I have to leave him.....the fluttering goes away, and that pain in my chest comes.....and I can't stand it...."
Ceres saw the lake aglow from the light of the lioness...it reminded her of the day at the beach when they made sand castles together.
"Once," Ceres giggled as she remembered as she fell asleep that particular evening, "He placed his tail on top of me...and I felt really happy....happier than I had ever been...even with my family...I never knew it was possible to be that happy...."
Ceres lowered her head and placed it between her paws and looked out across the water smiling a little.
"Soleil makes me extremely happy."

Nodding and 'Uh huh'ing at appropriate intervals, Sandy listened to the pup spew her mind and problems and slowly let her smile expand, poor little dragon was falling or had fallen in love. Even though she seemed a little young Sandy couldn't deny that's how it had been explained to her before time and time again and though she hadn't experienced it herself she could tell she meant what she was saying by the tone and wistful look in Ceres's eyes.
She had an answer ready, playing on the edge of her lips until that last comment ".....Soleil? The bright lion with the sunflower Soleil?" Sandy was taken back, her friend the fully grown yet quite absent minded Soleil, now there was a little turn of events. She was right when she had seen them together before, did he know? The glowing lioness suspected not, the girl seemed sensible enough and this was a dangerous area what with her being so young and Soleil so oblivious half the time.
"Well if it is the Soleil we both know, then good for you! Does he know about any of these feelings yet?" How strange how everyone seemed to be conecting in one way or another on the Isle....

"No."
Ceres closed her eyes and frowned. She liked Soleil a lot, but besieds from his age, he was also a lion. No one expected a dragon to like a lion like this...or at least that's what she thought.
But when it was time to tell him, what was she supost to say? Should she even say something?
Ceres said nothing for a moment.
"Should he know...eventualy?" she said opening her eyes and looking up at the lioness, "Should he know...even if...if..I'm a dragon?"

Ceres stopped briefly before she spoke, Sandy could see in her eyes that she was thinking, not what about but that generally the thoughts where happening. It was more than Sandy did a lot of the time, when she got going she could talk for the Isle, spurting out random nonsense and ranting about things of absolutely no importance. Lately however she found more that she was taking the time to ponder things in her head before she spoke, situations seemed to have happened where blurting out something inappropriate may really hurt someone.
"Little one, though I'm not sure I'm hearing the words of a little one." She smiled again and carried on "Love it Love. Regardless of Species, Age, Color or family backgrounds. Everyone deserves to be happy, but how about we don't tell him just yet, I'm not sure he'd understand or necessarily take you seriously, when you've grown and if you still feel this way, which I'm sure you will, then tell him and see what happens?"

Ceres thought about what Sandy had said. She was pretty good at giving advice so far, but Ceres had a hard time accepting at the moment that a lion would like a dragon like that.
"But maybe...that would change..." Ceres thought.
So she had to wait. It was a long time till that time came...at least she thought so. She thought about the time she could tell him and imagined herself a dragoness telling him. But as she thought this...another senerio ran through her head.
"AHH!!!!" Ceres screamed as she shot up and dug her claws into the moist Earth. She felt her short fur stand on end as she became very afraid, "What if he hates me?! What if he....doesn't like me like I like him?!?!?!"
She looked straight ahead and she thought of the scean. Soleil turning his back on her as an older self told him of her feelings. Ceres could feel the tears start to form in her eyes as the pain in her chest got worse.

With the sudden change in Ceres Sandy was quick to comfort her, getting close and wrapping her wing over and around the pup. "Now, now, don't go thinking like that. Only time will tell and if you've spent even a slightest amount of time with our Soleil you'll know that what your thinking about is a very unlikely scenario."
Looking down at the pup then up to the stars the memories of all the recent times and nights spent with Soleil, Stravina and her brother Vulcan she could not even remember one time that he's lost his temper, spoke up and defiantly couldn't imagine him hating anyone. "Anyone who would hate you for telling them your feelings isn't even a friend and not worth your time fluff ball" Oops.. she'd slipped up, thinking about their yellow bubbly friend has made her slip, too bad she couldn't take it back and as the both huddled she hoped the pup would see the funny side like Sandy herself had.

Ceres felt calmer as Sandy's wing engulfed her. She heard the words that she said and understood. Soleil was too kind to stop liking her as a friend. Even if her feelings wern't the same as Soleil's, he wouldn't stop being friendly and nice to her. But the pain at the thought of him not wanting to be with her all the time still hurt.
"No." she thought shaking her head and leaning against the lioness, "I shouldn't think such thoughts...and I should only do what I can do...and that is hope he loves me back..."
"So," she said sleepily to Sandy, "If I continue to be his friend, and be around him...could he like me too...as much as I like him?"

"Well I can't speak for him but I'd imagine so, the more time you spend with someone the greater feelings develop..." gently stroking Ceres with her wing Sandy let out a silent mental sigh of relief, she'd not taken offense to her nickname that made things easier.
Sandy could see how easy it would be for anyone to have feelings for Soleil, especially a younger female. He was always so cluelessly cute and fun to be around, Sandy had felt a certain attachment to the male but nothing more than a good friend, or so she thought.
"Like I said fluff ball, only time can tell with most things, you looks about ready for bed, want an escort back to your family? It's late and I won't allow anything bad to happen" Sandy could feel her own yawn threatening to emerge but fought it off, she still had business with the pup and wouldn't leave until she was ready for sleep.
