There was a first time for everything, and for Azriell'Kyupe this was her first time venturing out of her homelands. The Pridelands. These were rouge lands, where anything from Klipspringers to Cheetah's roamed. Her hunt for food had brought her out here, where there was plentiful prey animals she could hunt down. She'd made sure she knew which was she had to go to get back to her home, but this was an adventure of sorts for the lionness. Most lions ventured out of their homelands as a youngster, testing the boundaries. But better late than never, eh?
Spotting a Waterbuck out of the corner of her eye, Azi lowered her body to the ground, gently beginning to stalk towards the creature. Lunch, here she came.

Aang had been in the rogue lands for a long time, but it was only recently that he'd begun wandering around the Pridelands. He was wandering near the borders, sniffing around for some berries or maybe even a fruit tree. He had a little more energy than usual, but most of it was expended looking for edible plant foods. After all, he was seeing if he could survive on plants alone!
This was what brought him near the Waterbuck Azriell was stalking. The Waterbuck left him alone, as the young cheetah wasn't much of a threat... And he looked like even less of one when he began to nibble on the sweet grasses the Waterbuck was eating as well... He could almost be mistaken for a preybeast like that!

Azriell's eyes were only on the Waterbuck, not even noticing the young Cheetah wandering around. It was with cautious movements that she shuffled closer and closer to her prey, leaping at just the last minute. Unfortunately, the Waterbuck noticed, and turned to run, leaving Azi to land on...well, one young cheetah cub.
She yelped as she attempted to divert her leap, landing just behind the cub, though it was quite possible that her back legs would clip the top of his head, and send him tumbling forwards with her. She growled, righting herself with a shake of her head, carefully getting into a sitting position. That was going to hurt in the morning.

Aang had no warning aside from the Waterbuck's exit. Even then, he merely thought it was Eupe approaching. He didn't expect to be rather abruptly clipped on the top of his head by paws. Taken aback, he tumbled backwards from the force of the blow, landing on his back near Azriell and rolling onto his stomach with a soft groan.
One paw shifted to rub at his forehead, the area around his arrow tender and likely bruised under the fur.
"Ow..."

Getting herself to her feet, she shook a sore paw, checking that nothing was broken before turning on the Cheetah cub with an irritated growl, "What were you doing!? You probably scared off my kill!"
She was angry and irritated that she'd failed, once again, to catch anything. However, noticing the cub's strange markings and jewellery, she began to calm down a little, breathing heavily as she sat herself down, hopefully to look less intimidating.
"Are you alright?"
Always a good place to start.

Aang was still for a long moment, just laying on his stomach and blinking. And then he got to his feet and shook the dust out of his fur, grinning at Azriel.
"I'm fine! But you shouldn't eat Waterbucks. Some of them are good friends of mine!" he said, puffing up his cheeks slightly.

Friends? How could a cheetah be friends with a Waterbuck? Cheetah's ate Waterbucks, which usually lead to Waterbucks bolting whenever a cheetah was in sight.
"Friends?" she repeated in confusion, watching Aang carefully to check if he was playing a joke, "Cheetah's aren't friends with Waterbucks. They eat them."

"I don't like eating meat," Aang replied simply, his ears drooping slightly at the thought of it. "I'm friends with the Waterbucks in the area!"

"You don't like eating meat?"
How could a cheetah not eat meat? Cheetahs, lions, leopards - all of them were supposed to eat meat. They were carnivores, and the whole circle of life worked when they ate meat. It was how they stayed healthy and fit.
"What do you eat, then? You can't live on just grass. You have to eat some meat?"
