Siti lay in her tree and watching for the sun to make it accent into the world of the waking. She had been a bit restless during the night and had not slept well. She was tired but was still excited to see the beautiful colors of dawn.
Siti loved the sunrise and was always happy when she woke in time to see it. Siti looked over the lands to see if there were any other animals waiting to watch the sun rise and spread it warmth and light. She could hear birds making and a few monkey's calling out in the tree. She was certain she even heard a hyena laugh.
'Ah, the sounds of morning,' thought Siti.

Layilme, on the other hand, was utterly and completely depressed. She'd been traveling all night and wasn't likely to stop even with the rising of the sun. She didn't know anymore where she was going ... or even really what she was looking for.
Her family was gone, her life was in shambles, and she was rather quickly slipping down into a pit that would become increasingly difficult to climb back out of again.
The once-beautiful lioness was thin and gaunt now, head and tail drooping and paw-steps heavy as she wandered by beneath that tree, not really paying any attention to her surroundings.

Siti noticed a lion walk toward and beneath her tree. Siti thought the lionness reminded her of the night sky and the feather on her ear was rather nice. On a second look however, the lioness looked rather thin. It looked like the lioness was in need of good meal.
Siti rose up onto all fours and looked down at the meal. "Hello down there. Are you okay?"
Siti leaped from the tree, which was a bad habit of hers. As of yet she saw no reason not to simple jump from the tree. Upon getting a closer look at the lioness, Siti was sadden. The lioness looked so sad and rather out of it.
"Is there something I can do for you," Siti asked without really waiting for an answer to her first question.

Layil jumped a bit at the sudden voice from above, but didn't shy away, just looked up rather dully and blinked slightly. What...? Why was a lioness up in a tree?
She opened her mouth to reply and then just shook her head as the other jumped down. Okay..? No, she wasn't okay. And she rather doubted that she'd ever be okay again.
"I ... not really," she replied softly to the second question. Not unless this other could magically change the past, or give her children and her life back to her.

Siti did not want to be rude but the lioness looked like she needed help or a least an ear to spill her problems to. "Are you sure there is nothing I can do? You look dreadfully sad and your a little thin for a full grown lion, no offense to you."
Siti sat next to the female. 'What could make someone so sad', it was not a sight she had ever seen.
Siti had been sad for a while as a cub when she had lost her mother and siblings, but she had learned to live with it. She understood now that she was older that sometimes that was just how the circle of life worked, even if it was terribly unfair.
Siti still thought of them, but she hardly remembered them anymore. Her cubhood, seemed so far back.

Ears laid back for a moment at that, and Layil almost just shoved the other away. But gods... she really did need someone to at least talk to. And a part of her knew it.
"My life... has been destroyed," she half-whispered. "And unless you can give it back to me again... I ... wouldn't know what else to ask of you."

"Your life?" Siti looked at the life with a sad but curious expression. "I am sorry but how has your life been destroyed? I am no godess, I can not give you life back but I can most certainly listen to your story."
Siti looked to the sky where the sun would be rising any minute. "Maybe I can find a way to help lift your spirits a little. "

At that, Layil's shoulders slumped and she half-whispered, "I've ... lost nearly everything precious to me. That's all." The last two words were almost mocking of herself, a slight note of hysteria to her voice.
She wished... that she knew what she had done wrong, wished she could go back in time and fix it...gods...

Siti looked confused, even though she understood to a degree she was still confused. "Did you loose a love one, a home?" She wondered if maybe she should stop asking questions. It seemed as thought the more she pried the more upset the female seemed.
Siti decided to maybe try a different approach, after giving the lioness a moment to respond. "I'm sorry, I've been a little rude. My name is Nabila Siti. May I ask who you are?"
If she wanted to help the lioness, obviously painful questions probably would not help.

Indeed, at the first of those questions, Layil flinched as if someone had thrown cold water on her, or even clawed her, maybe. But ... she was grateful when the other lioness broke off to introduce herself. It gave her a chance to pull herself together a bit more.
"I ... my name is Layilme. And... I'm sorry too. You'd probably rather not hear about all of my problems," she murmured miserably.

Siti smiled at the other lioness, her mood caring, but still bright. She did not like to see another hurting so and she was sure that this lioness was hurting. She just did not know from what.
"Layilme is a very nice name, per chance do you know what it means?"
Siti looked at the lioness, she wanted to keep the conversation to a light minimum, afraid of making the lioness feel worse, but she was all ears to anything the lioness wanted to tell.
"Do not worry Layilme, I have no problems with lending my ears to you problems. It is always best to talk about it and try to accept what is bothering you so. You never know who may be able to help you."
Siti thought about all those she had met so far in her journey's each adding something special to her travels.

Layil shook her head slightly at the question, gaze lowered to the ground. "I don't know if it means anything or not..." she murmured, after a moment. She barely even remembered her own mother - just a hazy sensation of love and warmth... and only for a very short time. She was probably lucky she remembered the name she'd been given at all.
"Maybe you don't but I ... I don't know if I want to talk about it," she said then, quietly.

Siti frowned, think talking to the lioness who be rather hard in her current state. "We don't have to talk about it, if it bothers you so. We could talk about anything. Where are you from? Do you like it there?"
Siti settled down and looked to the lioness, hoping she wasn't being a bother. She did not want to irritate the female and she was trying her best to be polite, but the lioness was rather unresponsive and Siti was finding herself at a loss as to what to say.
Siti sincerely hoped to help the female but she was uncertain she would be able too. Siti sighed softly, thinking maybe she was to eager.

None of those questions really helped either, as they only reminded Layilme of all she had lost. But it wasn't the other's fault... no, it was all her own. And she really shouldn't make anyone else feel bad, if she could help it.
So she made an effort not to show her pain so obviously, and raised her head just a bit. "The place I came from doesn't really have a name... I ... used to live in a small oasis. But I'm not even sure where it might be from here, not anymore."
She sighed softly. "I'm sorry... you're just trying to help, and I don't mean... to get you down too."

Siti smiled as the lioness spoke, it was confusing and sort of jarbled, but Siti most understood. "An oasis sound beautiful. I have never seen one before, but I have heard on them in my travels. I travel a lot and meet many along the way."
Siti thought maybe it was her home that she had lost, since the lioness seemed slight confused about it. She was surprised when the lioness apologized to her and it made Siti sport an even bigger smile.
"Its no bother really. I'm not down, but I do want to help. Why don't we try a different approach. Maybe there is something you would like to talk about," Siti questioned feeling better about where the conversation is going.
