Cat politics. That's what I'm talking about.
I have two cats - one male, Bones and one female, Hazel. They hate each other. Really. They have stare down contests and I can feel the little daggers coming out of their little eyes.
Anyways, I've been away (schoolz) for the last few days so this morning was all turmoil to who got to snuggle with me.
Hazel, is like me - she likes to book early to avoid disappointment. Bones is like my boyfriend - meanders up, not understanding that the time is a hot time to come and space is limited. It never fails. Bones always shows up late and gets the crappy spot.
So lately, as soon as I go to bed, Hazel jumps up and snuggles with me right away. This is new, as this snuggle spot is usually held for Bones. But, I guess there was a coup one day while I was away because now everything is opposite.
But, this morning, Bones managed to get the good spot. I guess Hazel had become lazy. When she did show up, and noticed Bones there, there was an
epic stare down. (I swear I heard
Requiem for a Dream in the background.) I thought the two of them were going to duke it out with me,
not in my sleeping armor, between them.
Now, everything has returned "to normal".
So, I know that a lot of you, my fellow guild members, have cats. Do they get along? Do they have political territories where the other will never venture? Do they constantly fight under the bed at night? Do you come home to find them in opposites? (As in X spot is 1 Cat's normal spot but now 2 Cat is in X spot.)
Thinking about this, I remember when I was a kid how the politics would work between myself and my two brothers. It was always two against one and it would constantly be changing.
