Domnikali, or Dom, which he preferred, was wandering the early night. Plagued by the eyes of his father, so others thought. Karndess thought it was a waste, Rellik and Kyra said that they were good for defense, survival, his father..well, his father expected a lot from im, a lot which Dom felt he could not give, at least, all right now. Huffing to himself he held his head high, eyes searching in the night, paws scraping at the ground, searching.
He wanted a shiv...but he doubted he would find such a material like Kyra's, perhaps a rock?
Something to train with.
His father loved his sisters, was over protective of them, but Dom was seen as the lion, the male that had to do well in everything, Kyra was giving im tips, but it was time to start on his own.

 In all her boredom, Aereon had taken to playing with her food a bit, since it was still alive and moving after all. An amused snort escaped her as she pinned the little mouse down, her claw snipping through its fleshy tail very easily. She'd been sharpening her claws a little while earlier.. She'd already gotten all the amusement she could from the little creature, and as she picked it up off of the ground, sqeaking in pain, and opened her mouth to eat it whole she caught sight of her brother (or at least who she thought would be her brother. who else her size would be wandering about at this hour?) walking past not too far away. She smirked and flicked the mouse away, not bothering to watch it scurry away in almost disbelief that it had gotten away with its life still intact.
She didn't make a sound, only frowning and thinking what a waste of her father's time as she watched her brother wander around carelessly, digging..or something like it. He was looking for something, and what Aer didn't really care. The cub, in several quick movements, had caught up with Domnikali and taken a seat nearby.
"Already careless with your wandering, Dom?" she asked, her voice clearly displaying her feeling of superiority over her sibling.

Dom stopped and turned his gaze to fall upon his sister. She had the same eyes as he did, almost the same pelt, they both were black adorned with the white of their father, he huffed, flicked his tail. Just because their father favored the females, didn't meant hey were better than him! "What, not having father teach you anything knew? I swear Aereon, you'll get soft without going on your own," he wanted to stick his tongue out, but he didn't want their father to catch him acting like a child.
"If you must know, I'm looking for a shiv, or something close to one, Kyra is going to give me some lessons," he said with an ear to ear grin.
Yea, what about that Aereon, did you get that offer, huh?
"Where is father and mother?"

Her smirk was replaced by a sort of smug expression, and she flicked her tail as she listened (partially, anyway.. he wasn't a great conversationalist in her opinion) to his reply. It was...longer than it really needed to be, and she scoffed when he mentioned something about getting lessons from Kyra.
"I'm still perfecting the last skill he taught me," she started in response to his first quetion. "I'm in no rush to half-assedly know every last technique he can teach. I take it slow, very much unlike you." She was quite obviously referring to his private lessons with their father, something she felt she deserved more-so than Dom. "And Kyra offers you these lessons because she feels you need them in order to keep up with father. If she didn't," and she didn't finish the sentence, but gave him a calculated look and huffed.
"I don't know where mother and father are. On another hunt, I'd imagine.."

Dom quirked a brow at her, grit his jaw together. His father had told him to never back down from a challenge, never be weak, never show fear or uncertainty, but he also was to respect females (perhaps in a way his father could not, as he seemed to always upset Kyra). "You just wish Kyra would show you what she's going to show me, teach me. Tell me stories of how she and father fought mercs," he grinned.
Though he truly didn't know if his father said any of those stories to the girls.
"I'd keep up with father even without Kyra's lessons!" Dom said defensively in a low tone, "If you think I wouldn't be able to your wrong!"

Aer had grinned, a very mocking expression on her face, until he brought up his special treatment by Kyra and her father. She immediately lost the expression and replaced it with a bit of an irritated one. Her mind froze for a moment, welled up with anger, and she quickly thought of a response. If she paused for too long she knew Dom would think he'd won their little argument.
"Kyra does offer teach me," she said (and it was true.. partially, anyway). "But like I said, I like to take these lessons slow so it all sinks in properly. And when time comes to prove myself to father, I won't make a fool of myself, again.. very much.." another calculating look. "Unlike you."
She made no comment about the stories, deep down not really wanting to hear them. For her own reasons she didn't like to share..

Dom sneered at Aer, let his little claws slip from his little paws. They were all tiny still, still cubs, but they were meant to act older than they were. He huffed, narrowed hi eyes that gleamed in the dim light of the night, "I won't disappoint father, I'll show him how strong I can become, and Kyra will help me, maybe she'll even bring me to wherever she found her shiv, so I can have my own," he said it in a way that would suggest Aer would not be along for the adventure.
"You see, when I hear the stories, take them in, and if I see one of the mercs, or necros, I'll be strong and wise enough to be able to take them down, and have father look at me and be proud I am his son."
They'd all see.

The femme cub frowned, not because her brother had one-upped her, but because she hadn't gotten the reaction that she'd wanted from him. Aereon had expected something like anger irritation, not a sneer and a self-lifting comment about his future. Or the hope of one day receiving a siv like Kyra's. She'd sensed that he meant they'd be going without her..
"Yes, because you'll need all the help you can get.." she said rather sharply, her eyes moving from her brother's figure to another moving among the grass. And she suddenly remembered that she released her dinner a little while ago. She was hungry.

Domnikali huffed at her, turned and flicked his tail. He shook his head, the fur atop his brow becoming dishoveled, ah well, he didn't need to keep clean when he trained all the time, a dip in water now and then was just fine with him. "You'll see Aer," he said with another nod, trotting away from her.
As he walked off a faint echo of a roar was upon the wind, Kyra's call, Dom was sure it was for him, but it sounded...strange.
He would see when he got there.

Aereon grinned, satisfied that she had won their would-be argument. It...wasn't really an argument, but nevertheless she had won, so that didn't matter. She reveled in the moment for a few minutes before hearing a rustle among the grass once again, and her mind went back to the hunt. The femme crouched low to the ground, blending it particularly well with the darkness that was nighttime as the backdrop of the scene.
A mouse scurried into view, and it stopped and started sniffing in the air. It was totally and completely unaware of the silvery eyes staring down at it from behind. Aereon lifted her paw...
And it was over in an instant.
