I have some of your donations on my mule and I'd really like to have a contest to give back because your donations are for the guild, not me. I know as the Captain I haven't been very active because of my condition and I apologize for that, but we really need to have some sort of contest where everyone can participate. I tried doing an avatar contest but that was wasn't lolita enough apparently... which in some ways I agree, so I offered a calender picture contest, but no one has participated in it. The mods and I have talked about maybe a story contest but before I set up the rules and details, I need to know if anyone is willing to join in. You must be 100% certain.

I dunno what kind of contest it would be, though... and I highly doubt that a substantial amount of people would enter. D:

Well, the idea is for people to write short stories or comics and then win prizes for it. It's more accessible to a wider range of people than the photo contest/calendar was.

How about a dress design?
Or instead of an 'avatar' contest, we have a 'Lolita' contest!
We could have three categories, each category's winner gets 10k. The categories would be like... Kodona, Lolita, and Aristocrat. Or punk. Or something.
I would totally join something that requires creativity - but one that I don't need to think too hard about (like a story contest. I would NOT join that!).

I was going to have a photoshoot to inspire people to join into the calender but I have been so ill this past year, it's been horrible, ick. Everyone is able to write, right? They make you write essay and such at school, so everyone should be able to do it.
Also on another note, it wouldn't hurt to donate pictures(real life or art) to pursue more activity. I've noticed a lot of members have wanted to join not only because of our organization but because of the image we have on our homepage.

Yeah, like others have siad, I am not into writing at all. I absolutely hate it, much to the dislike of my teachers all through out my school day. As far as writing goes, for me it was easy, and like I said, my teachers believed me to be gifted to the highest degree...but just because I'm naturally good at somethig dosen't mean I like to do it...at all...for me, to do it, i have to be in one of thoese rare illusive moods to even consider doing it. :/
other ideas:
why not have different categories? like for fan art, design ideas, music videos, even? and i did like the calendar thing in the past, unfortunately i missed that one due to the lack of a working camera, but i think photo submission contests would be fun as well. smile
