Bored... AGAIN. Taka had meandered off on her own this morning and so had all of his siblings. The tan lion let out a sigh, flipped a bit of his mini-mane out of his face and padded off in search of adventure. Who knew what he might find today? His pink eyes, just like his mother's, scanned for any sign of... well, anything, only to be disappointed with more grasslands. Still, he continued on his way, certain that eventually he'd run into someone. He headed somewhat towards the borders, but didn't cross them, still with the same dissatisfied, bored expression.
Thoughts ran through his head... He had to do his drum quest soon! He knew what kind of drum he wanted, but he hadn't... really had many thoughts about what his rhythm would be. He knew this much: He would want to work under Muujiza for his apprenticeship. He had little interest in much more than dancing, it was what he was best at, and what he enjoyed the most. Definitely unlike his half-sisters and his mother, who both were more skilled at drumming.
Well, since nobody was around... The cub started humming a tune and did a few random dance steps, he was actually quite good with his feet, and placed graceful leaps here and there.

Eyal on the other hand had escaped the cub that followed him once again. Not only was she incredably annoying but she insisted that posion ivy was a GOOD herb. The poor male had small bald patches on his bum. He shook himself off then lifted his head, spotting either a young male or a female in the distance.
Deciding he could use a bit of company, he trots over to investigate and across the boarder. He pauses, tail flickering, survaying to find out it was a male before letting out a deep gruff roar of greeting from his throat.

Hakuna had been completely unsuspecting of the other lion's presence. He'd been so absorbed in his dance that he hadn't even scented nor heard the gold lion coming. He stopped abruptly, so much so that one could almost call it unnatural, rosy eyes locked onto the spot where the roar had come from. He saw a lion pad out, golden. Heck, he kinda looked like he could be Taka's dad! Kinda, but he didn't have the back marking, which was a solid hint to him that this certainly couldn't be him.
Hakuna padded forward a bit, slightly hesitant just because this was an adult stranger, and he himself was much younger. "Hey there," he said, voice not betraying any hint of the caution he had for how. "Who're you?" He asked somewhat rudely, plopping his butt into the grass as he stared at the outsider.

Eyal was curious at what the other lion was doing. He watched him stopping a few yards away and sitting himself. "I'm Eyal, Warrior Chief of my pride... Who are you?" He questioned, raising an eybrow at the young male. Surely he wasn't thinking about challenging him. That would be foolish. Every foolish indeed.

Hakuna puffed himself up a bit, trying to match the stranger, though it would be impossible just because of his size. "Warrior Chief... Sounds fun," he said with a mischievous grin that only a younger lion could pull off. While his pride was peaceful and had little to no concern about battles and such... Hakuna was still a male, and the sound of a warrior chief was certainly interesting to him.
The juve rose to his paws again, keeping his eyes fixed on the stranger until he could assure himself that he meant no harm. "I'm Hakuna," he introduced. "I'm part of the Pride here, I'm too young to have a title though... But I'll get one soon!" he said excitedly, eyes narrowing with determination. He'd be the best dancer there was, just wait and see...

"Fun isn't the word for it." He responds sticking his muzzle in the air. He watched the younger lion curoius but unafraid. He was a strange one that's for sure.
He remained sitting however, vaguely interested. "Oh? What pride is that...? What title do you wish to gain?"

Hakuna tilted his head further at the lion's words. How couldn't that be fun? Such a title had to be fun, even if for no other reason than to toss it around. He decided by now that the stranger had no intent on harming him. Hakuna flicked his head to get a piece of mane out of his face before he spoke again.
"I'm from the Nchi'Mahadhi Pride. And you're within it, but I wouldn't worry about it." he said simply with a nod. "We're welcoming to anyone but those who intend to do harm. We're musical, everyone gets a rhythm, a song of sorts, and a drum to use for themselves," he said. "We welcome anyone to come listen to our songs and learn a bit about rhythm, but I don't know much about that stuff... My mom and my sisters, they know a lot more about it." he said with a little nod. "Me? I'm going to be a dancer. I'll be an 'Umfundi,' an apprentice, but I'm a good dancer." He hoped, though, that the male wouldn't demand a performance. All Hakuna could do was do a few random steps, he didn't have any entire dance down-pat yet.

Eyal approached the youngster after a few moments of deliberation. If they weren't going to attack him then he had no worries. "Songs? Rhythm? It seems pointless to me. Why on Earth would you waste your time trying to laern to dance? When you could be out there learning to spar against your kind. To protect your pride and your king? What can a simple drum do to ensure your survival?"

Hakuna had to pause. He couldn't believe what this guy was saying! Was he serious?
Another few moments of pausing...
Followed by hysterical laughter. Hakuna was on his back, pointing a claw at the lion and laughing. That had to be the funniest thing he'd ever heard. "A king? A KING?? HA ha ha!!" He kept laughing for a few moments before finally rolling back onto his feet and pushing himself up, still trying to control the chuckling. "There is no king! We've got a queen, and my mother's the Umshayi, that's the second-in-command to you," he said proudly. "We... don't have a king at all," he snickered again. "Actually. Our queen has no lifemate, so no king at all. That's funny though... Puh, a king."
It only took him looking at the seriousness of the other lion before his mind started to work logically again. "Wait, do you have a king?" Hakuna hadn't left his own pride, nor talked withoutsiders... The idea of a king was so bizarre to him, perhaps in some places it wasn't that crazy.
"And our Rhythm is our soul. What good are you to yourself unless you know yourself? We have no need to fight, we're peaceful creatures and we haven't had any problems before..." he said simply with a wave of a paw.

Eyal waited as the information sank into the what he considered a dull lion's brain. However when the other starts to LAUGH at him, that's another matter entirely. He bares his teeth, fur bristling dangerously. "No king?! What kind of dolts are you?! A queen is hardly a thing to put in charge!"
He snorts. "Of COURSE we have a king! Our King is our life! He is what we live and breath for. We are all willing to die for him."
He starts to pace, keeing his piecing green eyes on the youth. "A Rhythm? A waste of time. Once knows one self by fighting and making his place! no need to fight... I could laugh if it wasn't so ABSURD!"

"Come now, a queen's not so bad! And Nsundu's nice, she's a good strong leader. Who ever said the leader had to be a boy?" Hakuna asked simply with a shrug, unphased by the raised tone and piercing glares.
The male closed his eyes and tilted his head a little bit. "And we make our place by dancing, singing, and drumming. We're lovers, not fighters. Fighting ever only brought destruction, after all," he said, opening his eyes as he finished and latched them back onto Eyal. "I suppose your pride is in a place of turmoil? Otherwise, you'd understand that there's no use for fighting," he said sagely, voice calm as could be. Not even Hakuna's tail flicked, he seemed completely at peace.
"Perhaps you ought to try it, finding your rhythm. While you're all riled up, I'm completely content, that's the difference between us."

Eyal can't stop pacing. He'd never heard of such a thing! He could deal with a female's rulership but DANCING? SONGS? None of that makes any sense! "Its just right is all!" He snaps.
He shakes himself, growling every few seconds. "You can make anything from such stupid rituals! Lovers never win! In fact, I don't believe in love!" He says it with a vengence. "Sadly there is no tormoil in our pride so we can not test our ablities or show our King our support."
He stops suddenly and glare at Hakuna. "What? Content and riled have nothing to do with it boy! My riled heart proves that I have strength! Only one who dies in battle can be content."

"Right to you, but not to me," Hakuna said simply with another shrug. "Look, it's quite clear that you like fighting, that's why you're wherever-it-is-you-live. And I personally like dancing and such, and I like the Nchi'Mahadhi pride because of it. I'm not saying to you that you'd need to mold yourself to it..." he said, followed by a whisper, "though I think it would do you good to chill for a little while... But c'mon, it's my way of life. You're not too accepting, are ya?" He asked with a head tilt again and a confused look. Such turmoil within this other lion... How could he live with it?
Well, he did. Hakuna knew that. "The songs and rhythm are important to our Pride, it's what we believe in, and who we are. We use them to remember those that are gone and to find a form of inner peace," he said, unsure if that was entirely true. Still, that's the purpose it served to him, dancing always melted the stress away.

"I love fighting. Its the only way to live..." He turns around for another pace revealing long scars along his hindquaters. Apparently he'd been in a fight recently but they weren't from a lion. His pacing had agrivated the wounds and he had a slight limp in his gait but he tried not to show it. He seems to relax when he realizes the other isn't trying to force views on him. "Yes well... I know being too accepting is dangerous..."
He flicks his tail, looking to the youngster. "Your Pride is strange... but I can not change your ways." He finally admits.

Hakuna caught sight of the cuts on the other lion. Gashes, really. "Is that what happened to your flank? Being too accepting?" Hakuna may have been open, but he wasn't stupid. He knew there were lions and other creatures out there that weren't nice, that wouldn't hesitate to hurt some innocent bystander. Perhaps that explained some of Eyal's views, Hakuna's life had been led without bad times. Well, there was that landslide, but in the end that turned out to have been quite the thrill.
"Yeah, well your pride seems pretty strange too," he said with a smirk and a light chuckle.
Getting off of the weird topic... "So, is your pride far away from here?" He asked. He didn't have a grasp for how big the savannah was... "You could meet my mom if you lived nearby!" Too bad he didn't know his mother's... tendencies.
