I've always been curious about how often marching bands practice a week because I've seen so many wonderful shows and was wondering how often bands practice. How often does your band practice? I'm not section leader so I don't get to meet the other band gonk
Mine only practices once a week and a bit on Friday before football games sweatdrop
EDIT: Please say if you're in a high school or college marching band

We usually practice once a week, depends on when people have to work or not, though. We used to have them every monday, or tuesday, I can't remember, but we have ours tonight. In about an hour and a half, too. Woah.

Well, we used to practice at least two or three times a week before Katrina... but we have only practiced once this week. We would practice mornings during band class and Tuesday afternoons from 5:30 to 8:30.

Three times a week for about 2 hours each day. Then sometimes before game days. Game days themselves last about 8 hours of non-stop playing, so thats plenty of practice there. xd

Inthenameofweird Game days? Like, football games? 8-hour football games?! Yup, that's right. Those include getting to the stadium, tailgating, pre-game, stand tunes, halftime, more stand tunes, ((victory)) tunes, then tunes leaving the stadium. Its a long day. biggrin

Yeah, I remember those days. *reminices about HS football games* they seem so short to me now. But anyhoo, our games are really long. The times sometimes vary, but when its a 8pm kickoff, its pretty typical not to get back home until almost 2am.
