This is my first time posting here. I'm sure this topic has been breeched before, but I want to share my ideas and thoughts. And if anyone has an existing thread similar to mine, please share the link. I know every signature counts and I want to make a difference.

My petition: an equippable pregnant belly, baby, or small child. I would like several poses, skin and hair types. And no, I do not have any pics. I can't draw. LOL. But any ideas or links to pics would be appreciated! 3nodding

I realize that Gaia is aimed at teens 13+, but I've been a Gaia member since 2003. And even though I've grown, I still love Gaia. I come back and change accounts often. I donate and I give to others. I know that I am one person, but one person can make a difference. I don't want anyone to think I support teen pregnancy. Being pregnant is hard, but to be to able to raise your child when you're still a child is nearly impossible. I want to support Gaia and the adult fans who have children. We would like to be recognised.

I really can't say I like the idea. Pixelated pregnancy weirds me out a bit.

I imagine Gaia is well on their way to doing it though, so uh...yeah. XP

Yeah, there is that, so I guess Gaia really doesn't care about tha issue. I really didn't like that they let us have those as items. Even though it's just pixels, the whole idea of buying and trading kids just really doesn't sit well with me, so it's not something that I could put my support behind.

Actually if you look at a good deal of the items this site is was meant for adults not children.

Gaia was originally created for the older teen/early 20-something set that RPed and played on RO. It's only recently that it's been marketed as a younger teen social networking site. (And looking at some of the item descriptions and humor, I highly doubt that's the case...younger teens my a**, Gaia.)

What about all the RPers on the site? confused I know they were asking for items like a pregnant belly and children for their text RPs that they dress their avatars up for as well. I really don't buy into the, "Teens are so STUPID that if they see ____ they'll be like lemmings and all need to have them," mentality. Some? Sure. But there are some adults like that too. I know as a teenager, had I been on this site with babies, I likely wouldn't have liked them and just not used them. I would not have been possessed with an uncontrollable need to get knocked up so I could have one IRL to tote around. I think it does a great disservice to the younger members of this site to give them so little credit for independent thought.

I thought that too when I saw the changeling babies, but they also look really evil... I'm a little weary of what they will become as they evolve. (O.o) We shall see.
