Pich lay on her back, happily soaking in the warmth the mid-day sun offered. The wind blew sweet and the heat wasn't too much. But then again, Pich had a much lighter coat than her siblings. She giggled and wriggled as a few bugs decided to march under her. She rolled over and watched the little things trod along. At a particulary shiny one, she poked at it with a dull claw and watched it skitter away. She giggled again, then her ear perked up and a big smile lit up her face. "PAPA!" The little girl-pup bounded over to the coming yellow figure.

A cry of a name he still wasn't used to brought Safi back to attention. He'd been daydreaming, thinking of what his family would say when they found out he had pups of his own. Seven gorgeous pups. In fact, one of them was barreling towards him at full speed. He squeaked, pink eyes wide, and braced himself.

Pich nearly knocked her father over when she ran into his legs. But, oblivious to the almost-catastrophe, she lay down between his front paws, little tail wagging happily and her own pink eyes looking up at her father with unbridled joy. "Papa home!"

Safi chuckled, despite the ache in his lower front legs. The force a pup could cause by running at that speed...it was not something to be underestimated. "Yeah. I'm home for a little Pich." He leaned down and licked the top of her head. "Have your brothers and sisters been good for your mother?" He wasn't exactly worried about Pich. The pale girl always seemed on her best behavoir.

The pale pup nodded. "Yes!" She giggled and smoothed the fur on her head back down. Pich stood and bounded a few feet forward, then bounced to face her father. "Mama missed!" It was almost strange how Pich could get her point across with no more than a couple of words. But that was just how she was.

Safi smiled softly and trotted over to his daughter. "I missed her too." Traveling alone was hard after having Fiyali around, then their now-largish family...but he wanted to find his birth family quickly. And the quickest way was to travel without the pups. "What do ya say to surprising her?"

Pich blinked and nodded vigorously. Mama would be SO happy! She bounced a bit more, then noticed the strange green thing on her father's back. She made a murmuring noise and made to nose at it. It was strange and smelled kinda salty....

Safi chuckled. It would do him good to see Fiyali's face after this last stint alone. He'd gone to the seashore and back...with still no luck in finding his parents or siblings. But...he did find the most interesting looking plants on the sands! And he'd brought a few of the strange, long green things back. Noticing Pich's curiosity, he smiled. "I found them, and thought Lela might like them. Even dry, they're a very pretty green!" He turned so she could see the other side. "And they've got this browny plant bubble at the other end! And they're tough!"

Pich made an excited noise and her tail set to wagging again. "Very pretty! Lela like!" She grabbed one with her teeth and pulled it from her father's back. "Help!" Holding it as she was, most of it dragged on the ground...but she looked so proud, as if nothing made her happier than helping out.

Safi just shook his head and took the plant from Pich's mouth. "Here...it'll be less dirty if we put it on your back." He placed it on her pale back, most of the plant now off the ground rather than on it. "Now...let's go home. I'm sure Lela would love to see what we've brought her. And I want to see your mother's smile again." Nosing his daughter forward, Safi kept his pace slower to match her smaller legs. It was good to be home.
