Something had happened and he wasn't quite sure what it was. He had felt something not quite right about the land and he'd gone to find Kivuli who had wandered off again... And then...
What had happened after that all seemed blurred together. The ground had started to shake and a tree had collapsed. He'd tried to scramble away from it but it had caught him... And then...
He pulled himself up now, stretching out despite the soreness of his body, glaring back at the tree only to thank the gods for the ditch that had been nearby; the one that he'd tumbled into that the tree had fallen across, sparing him from worse damage. His son was still out there somewhere and that remained in his mind but brought to the front of his thoughts were his mate... And his daughter.
"Kindo!" He called out as he turned the way he'd originally come, determined to find her, needing to know that she was safe. "Kindoro'ardhi!"

The day had seemed normal enough. The cubs were wandering about and playing and she'd been wandering between them and the shaded clearing under a tree that they'd been calling home. Something had pricked at her that morning but she'd ignored it mostly.
It wasn't until she saw huge flocks of birds leaving the area that she started to pay attention. The first tremors of the ground sent her scrambling toward where she knew at least a few of the cubs were.
"Ariza, Shujaa, Kivuli! Kimbi! Where are you!" If she could just get all of them with her they'd be alright. She just needed to know where they are.
He'd been happily playing near a little pond with his sister and his friend when he'd noticed the water rippling oddly. It didn't take long after that for the tremors to head up his legs. "What's going on ... mama!"
When he heard his mothers voice he called out to her. He didn't like whatever this was.
She'd curled up against the ground as everything started to go weird. She didn't like it one bit and certainly didn't want to get up and go running anywhere. She wasn't even she she could run.

His brow furrowed as he found the place where he'd left his mate and their remaining cubs, scenting the ground when he didn't find her there only to call out again. "Kindo!" She had to be here... Had to be somewhere safe with the other two so that he could justify going out again to look for Kivuli. If he found the boy he'd...
"Kindoro'ardhi!" He called out as he closed his eyes, trying to think of where she might have gone; where they might have gone.

Once the shaking had stopped and she'd gathered the cubs, the cubs she could find, she tucked them away in a small thicket and went in search of her mate and her missing cub.
"Tamba!" She didn't know which way he'd gone off into and the only trace of him she could get were ones he knew were days old. She had to find him first.

"Kindo!" He heard her this time, even if she hadn't heard him, the thunder of his heart echoing in his ears as he bolted towards the sound of her voice. He nearly ran into her as he broke out of the tall grass, butting his head instantly against her shoulder. "Ariza... Shujaa... They're with you? They're safe?"

"Tamba .... oh thank heavens you aren't hurt." She nuzzled against him as she tried to get her panicked heart to calm down. Any minuet she was going to be beside herself. "They're safe .. but ... but i can't find Kivuli. He was off playing and i can't find him."
She knew Chang would be alright and would come to find her, he hadn't been far off anyway. But her little boy...

"I was looking for him. I..." He shook his head, eyes closing tightly as he ran his head down along his mate's neck, wanting to make sure that she was all right just as much as he wanted to wring his son's neck for making her worry. "He must have gone further this time than he usually does when he wanders off. We'll find him."

"What if he got hurt? He might have gotten trapped under something ..." There were no end to the possibilities of what could have happened to her son that wandered though her head. She was suppose to keep them all safe and now she couldn't find one of them.

"He's fine. Wherever he is, he's fine and we'll find him." He nodded slowly, trying not to let the wave of guilt consume him. They had talked about settling before and he'd always pushed it off, saying that they would when the time was ready. If they'd been settled... Would they have lost their son?
"We'll find him, Kindo."

She buried her face in his mane. He was right. Kivuli was safe where ever he was, she just had to believe that. They'd find him and he'd be alright and they'd go right back to how things had been.
"We should go look for him ..."

"We should." He nodded slowly, sitting still in an attempt to be comforting to her for the moment. "We'll find Chang first... And see if he's with him." They could check on their other cubs after that, and then they could begin their search. "We'll find him."
