Duelist of Pokemon

"Hm....lesse, was it near the item shop? The casino?"

Scratching the back of her head, Jen glaced up and down the street while eyeing the badly-written directions and map clentched in her hand. Zen had recomended the place the last time he had mooched a free meal from her parents. Apparently, it was some new karaoke bar/arcade place and he had been there opening night.

"Awesome sauce of epic win? I dunno about that." She stared down at the map again before sighing and staring up at the sky. It was close to getting dark, and here she was: lost while standing on a street corner. Wonderful, eh? Maybe it was best to head back to the hotel for the night...

Or maybe she could yank on a random persons' sleeve and ask for directions?

...

The first option sounded much more appealing.

Had it not been for the fact she had been to the karaoke bar a few times prior, LizDuck would have been hopelessly lost. Even now, the streets seemed so unfamiliar to her, the idol still got lost half the time to simple places. Celadon was busy, but it was where she grew up.

Walking along the street with her favorite companion, Bob, she seemed rather chipper. Afterall, karaoke meant she could sing, and singing was one of her favorite things to do. As the two almost seemed to frolic along, the idol couldn't help but mentally plan how the evening would go. She'd probably stick to songs she didn't write, but only if someone recognized her at the karaoke bar would she do one of her own songs. That way she'd seem modest like a good idol should.

The Jigglypuff easily noticed her trainer's good mood, and she easily knew it was because the two of them could perform together. And that she was still excited about finally bringing Bob to Zatao. Who wouldn't be in a good mood after being reunited with their best friend.

"Jigglypuff!" the pokemon chimed in.

Okay, this was getting ridiculous! It was already starting it hit nine o'clock; that ment the poor trainer had been wandering around for nearly a half hour looking for the place! Crumbling up the paper with clear frustration, Jen was just about the hurl the thing into a nearby trashcan when she heard the voices: it being an easy recognize, considering it was a native pokemon of Kanto. Was it wild though?

Eyes glittering with trainer intent, Jen quickly stuffed the "map" into her jean pocket before spinning around to face the Jigglypuff-

Only to find it wasn't wild. Not to mention the headband with wore drove that point further home. The battle-eager expression hit the concrete with a crash; the unhappy expression was quickly replaced though with a friendly smile.

"Hey there! Didn't expect to see anyone else around!" Jen gave a friendly wave to the Jigglypuffs' trainer. Maybe she could give her a hand?

Now, Bob wasn't exactly the easiest to scare, but when she was surprised, anyone could easily tell. Not used to battle-eager trainers, nearly bumping into one gave her quite a fright. The balloon pokemon puffed up into a much larger size, before suddenly deflating and going whizzing through the air. And her shrill little cry of "Puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuffffffffffffffffffffff!!!" echoed through the air for a bit before she landed back on the ground many feet away. Fortunately, being so light-weight, the impact of her and the ground caused pretty much no damage.

LizDuck, however, wasn't aware of the trainer's presence until Bob had already escaped. "Bob, nooooo!!!" Her brown eyes darted from side to side as the Pokemon flew around uncontrollably before returning to the trainer's eyes. Her fingers twitched a little, wanting to rush to her favorite pokemon's side. Instead, she restrained herself.

"Oh my, what a surprise you gave us!" she exclaimed. Bowing her head a bit in apology for her rudeness, she then replied "I guess we weren't expecting to see anyone this way either on our way to the karaoke bar." She added a chuckle, hoping to lighten the mood.

Jen could only stare at the bold Jigglypuff as it puffed out before bursting out in a fit of laughter as the poor thing wizzed around through the air like someone had poked the pokemon with a needle. Okay, she knew that she shouldn't laugh but jen couldn't help it! Okay?!

Wiping away the tears from her eyes, Jen smiled and bowed in return. "I'm the one who should be apologizing, I nearly siced one of my pokemon on your puffy friend there." Jen jerked her thumb at Bob before blinking at what the gal had said. Karaoke bar? Maybe it was the same place she was heading to!

The noise of Bob crying out and Jen bouncing around so much caused the occupant of her backpack to poke her head out with droopy eyes and a squeaky little yawn. Abiba, her beloved little pikachu, twitched her ears and glanced around while rubbing one with the back of her paw. "Pika.....Chu?" It was then the pokemon spied LizDuck; nose twitching curious, Abiba gave a small "Pi!" and perched on Jen's shoulder as the human straightened up.

LizDuck was much too wise with how to make Bob upset, and one of them was laughing at her for her balloon-like ways. She stayed in front of the other trainer for a little bit and got a minimal glance at the Pikachu before she flocked over to her beloved Pokemon. "Bob, Bob, are you alright?" she almost seemed to mewl out in concern.

"....jiggly..." was all a very dizzy balloon Pokemon could offer. She was laying as flat as her round body could on the ground and had her face up towards the sky.

The idol, being the concerned trainer she was, picked up Bob in her arms, then made her way back to the group. Once back in front of the girl, she whispered (and hoped Bob didn't hear) "...I hope you don't mind... she can be a bit dramatic at times..." Adding a giggle at the end, she then took a better look at the Pikachu now on the trainer's shoulder. Without thinking, she readjusted so she held her own Pokemon with one hand and attempted to pet the other one. "Hello there, Pikachu!" One of these days, she was destined to be shocked by a shy electric Pokemon with her lack of thought.

Folding her arms, Jen watched with a faint smile as her new companion fawned over her Jigglypuff with concern only a trainer could give. Kinda reminded of how her mom and dad would act whever one of the pokemon back home got hurt or sick...

The smile grew slightly as LixDuck whispered; Jen nodded and scratched at her cheek as the pokeball connected to the strap of her backpack gave a small wiggle, almost like whomever was inside was about to argue against whatever it's trainer was gunna say. "Heh, it's okay. Aeon is like that sometimes, and besides...aren't dramatic pokemon more amusing in some ways?"

Abiba gave a happy "CHu!" and purred as the human started petting her. She liked this human! This human was very nice! As the human petted her, Abiba stared at the Jigglypuff before reaching over and poking the pink pokemon. "Pika?" What a strange thing! It was fuzzy....but rubbery-like! Was it a beach ball? Or some odd new toy?

The idol had no clue whether to agree or not to the accusation made of dramatic Pokemon. Perhaps it would be better to skip that subject altogether.

"What type of Pokemon is 'Aeon'?" She could have tried listing off a bunch of Pokemon, but then she could have been left there a long while. It was here her petting did cease for a bit as she tried to mentally guess what Aeon could be.

In the meanwhile, a deflated Jigglypuff was now the subject of abuse. Fortunately, the balloon was not exactly alert, otherwise they would have been prone to a pouting fit, consisting of more inflating and major sulking.

".....jiggly...."

Jen grinned and reached down towards her belt again, unclipping and enlarging what had to be the most well-used and abused pokeball in existance. Dents and burn marks were scattered across it with the paint chipping off as well. "Within this pokeball is Aeon, my Raichu. He was also my very first pokemon and the father of this little one." She pointed at Abiba with her free hand who had stopped poking the jigglypuff, jumped down from her trainer's shoulder and was staring up at the three of them with innocent eyes.

Rolling the pokeball between her palms, the trainer suddenly realized that she had been talking to this person for a while but no formal intros had been done!

WELL! She had to fix that now, didn't she? Passing her Raichu's pokeball to Abiba (who took it and hugged it with a happy "Pikachu pi!"), Jen held out a hand to the other girl. "Im sorry, I forgot to introduce myself! The name's Jennifer, but you can call me Jen. Whom might I have the pleasure of talking with this evening?"
PostPosted: Fri Sep 05, 2008 7:11 pm

"Oh, a Raichu! I've seen one other in this area, I think it was called Chuchu?" LizDuck scratched her head as she thought about it. That was the right name, right? Speaking of Raichus, she didn't have any Pikachu entries in her pokedex yet. Casually, she pulled her pink pokedex out and pointed it at the Pikachu for recording a pokedex entry .

"Pikachu: the Mouse Pokemon. If it looses crackling power from the electric pouches on its cheeks, it is being wary."

"Bob here is my first Pokemon... none of mine have ever bred though... but my Eevees are twins...?" Now she was rambling a bit. And as it had been pointed out, neither had given out any formal introductions. Holding onto the edges of her dress, she gave a small curtsy and gave a very happy "My name is LizDuck. It is a pleasure to meet you, Jennifer."

Afterwards, she couldn't help but twirl around and make a small cute pose.

Smiling at Liz, Jen watched her pulled out a familiar device but with a different color as it uploaded information on Abiba's kin. Abiba (who had jumped back onto her human's shoulder with the shrunken pokeball in her mouth), ever nosey and child-like, tried to reach out and grab the pokedex as it spoke.

Keeping an eye on her so she wouldn't fall, Jen perked up as Liz described a few of her pokemon. "You have Twin Eevees? Can I see?" She absolutely adored those little pokemon to bits! They were just too cute to be legal sometimes! "Aeon is the only one of my pokemon that has bred, considering he's old enough." As LizDuck did her greeting, Jen couldn't help but do a formal bow at the waist. Straightening, the trainer glanced around before turning back to her new friend. "So? Where might you be heading to tonight, Liz?"

Finally, at long last, Bob seemed to regain her composure, puffing up slightly and jiggling herself a bit as if to say "Wake up!" However, a simple "Puff!" was all she said. Finding that her trainer was busy in conversation, she decided to entertain herself by puffing up more and floating up to near LizDuck's shoulder. Being a balloon Pokemon was so much fun and did have its advantages.

"Oh, welcome back, Bob!" LizDuck greeted her pink companion before turning back to Jen. "We were heading to a karaoke bar that's not too far off! Would you like to come along?" This trainer didn't seem all that dangerous or anything, so she probably wouldn't do anything like kidnap her. Pulling her pokedex back and putting in back in her apron pocket, she narrowly avoided having the Pikachu touching the very edge of it.

As this other trainer spoke of seeing the eevees, Bob almost seemed to get up into the trainer's face. What about her? She was much more cute than a couple of Eevees! And she was definitely much more adorable than the Pikachu on this trainer's shoulder. Wanting to get her point across, the balloon Pokemon pointed at herself, demanding some sort of attention.

Careful not to laugh at her Jigglypuff, LizDuck added at the end "Maybe we can wait until we get to the karaoke bar instead? I don't need a parade of Pokemon to keep track of right now." It sometimes proved very difficult to just watch over Bob, who was much like a spoiled toddler at best. She'd always get into things she probably shouldn't get into.

"Karaoke Bar? Whatta coincidence! My pokemon and I were trying to find where it was just now!" Clapping her hands with delights, the trainer grinned at the singer. "I'd love ta join ya! A night outside of the hotel might do us some good. There's only so many times you can watch Pay-Per-View movies without going nuts."

As she spoke with Liz, Abiba watched the Jigglypuff float near her human with great interest. She had never seen the balloon pokemon so seeing one "fly" without wings was something new to her.

Jen nodded and pulled out the directions Zen had written to the Bar. "I understand how ya feel. Most of my pokemon aren't small and compact like Abi is." Glancing down at the paper, the trainer shot a peek at the street signs. "It is down Silver Tree lane? Or do you know where we're suppose to go?"

Then from out of nowhere, Abiba sprang from Jen's shoulder to grab and cling to Bob with a happy "PIKACHU!" She wanted to fly too! Ace was too much of a meanie-poo-poo face to give her a piggyback ride; maybe this pokemon would let her have one!
PostPosted: Mon Sep 15, 2008 6:44 pm

Chirping up lightly, LizDuck confidently responded "Yeah, that's the one! I know how to get there! I've been pretty regular there lately!" After all, singing was her career.

And then disaster struck. It all happened rather quickly, with Abiba pouncing the floating Jigglypuff. However, there was a reason why Jigglypuffs never could learn the move "Fly." Like a 20 pound weight that had been dropped from that height, both the Pikachu and the Jigglypuff fell from the air. "PUUUUUUUFF!!!!" Bob hollered out in dismay and panic.

Biting her lip slightly, all the idol did was wait and hope that the Jigglypuff wouldn't get upset. Please don't get mad, please don't get mad, please don't get mad! she repeated in her head.

"Really? How is it? A friend of mine told me that the place is pretty cool." This was awesome! Finally, some time with another human like herself; Jen swore if she spent too much time with her pokemon, she would turn into one.

Abiba squealed unhappily at the sudden drop and the hurtful contact with concrete. This wasn't right! Things that flew weren't suppose to suddenly fall and go boom! Whining sadly, Abiba shot Bob a questioning expression while nursing her sore bottom.

Jen simply bit her lip to try and hide her laughter. She couldn't help it...aome of the antics pokemon did were far too amusing at times.
