Warning: Long rant ahead. D: Sorry if it's too long. But I find it important.
Well. I suppose guys can get into fashion and clothes as well. But... I was just curious. I mean... Most topics hit on were... People's reactions to you...or...How stupid people can be... and physical obstacles faced. HOWEVER. I think this one is important too.
Clothes. OMG. Dude. Do you realize how annoying it is buying clothes? x_x; I can't wear pants with buttons...snaps...or zippers...because of the way I sit. It hurts. SO! I have to wear jeans with elastic at the top instead. Yeah...well...The only kind that FITS me right...looks stupid. I think tighter jeans...are pretty sexy. These...? These are hideous and baggy...ish. Except at the waist, where the elastic fits pretty tight. But they fit. Shirts are another issue. [Though you'll find that all clothing can be an issue...haha.] No matter the store...because my back kinda...sticks out a little in places...because my spine is curved... AND because...uh. Let's just say...My chest is far from flat... I usually have to go to the 'womens' section...to buy shirts. Problem with that? ...Nothing's interesting. DDD: All the clothes are boring~ All the cool stuff is in juniors or in the kids section. Wtf. Well. I have found some stuff in the guys section...but they fit me kinda weird. They're kinda tight. Shoes. Oh god. No. I'll come back to that. That'll be an interesting rant, trust me.
FORMAL STUFFS: ... DRESSES ARE SO EFFING DIFFICULT TO BUY OMG ... Seriously. Because of the way my back is...as I mentioned before...I can't wear dresses that have a zipper in the back. Why? It won't go over the part of my back that...kinda sticks out. [Well. My back is kinda twisted. I dunno how to put it unless I actually SHOW you...and I don't have any pics right now. ...I don't think. >___> I might update this if I find a pic that kinda shows what I mean.] SO. I had to either find a dress that was all just...one piece that like...didn't zipper or anything...[yeahright.] ...or one that tied. IT TOOK ME 5 HOURS TO FIND A STUPID DRESS FOR PROM. DDD< ...And then I felt fat because none of them fit me. But...Even though I could be seen as a little bit overweight...I'm not fat. That was NOT the case with the dresses. It was my back. Oh. And it usually made my tummy look funny...because...I sit down all the time. And I have scars...so...My skin kinda...indents there...and so did the fabric. Well. I found a beautiful dress for prom...but STILL. Ugh. I hate shopping for dresses. OH. And it also kinda bunches up around my tummy. It's irritating.
...But I hate shoe shopping even more. [And bra shopping. My stupid back is stupid...and so they never fit me right. It's usually that the strap that uh...goes around...? Is too tight...and the straps over my shoulders are too loose..no matter how much I tighten it. BUT. No more going into detail about what's UNDER my clothes.] One foot was born kinda funky... [I think my mom called it a 'club foot'? ...I dunno. It was just born in a weird shape, I guess.] ...so...that foot...is smaller than the other...but WIDER. My feet are two different sizes...and SUPER tiny...like...I'm in the little kids' section. Luckily I've found some pretty cute shoes there [OMG MY SEXY SKULL SHOES~ <3 ...>w<]...but I just hate it...because...depending on the shoe...I may be many different sizes. >__> And a shoe that may fit my one foot...might not fit the other. IT'S. SO. ANNOYING. I hate shoes. I just like the ones I have now. They'll probably fit me forever...since I'm done growing...Which rocks. [/longrant]
SO. SUPER LONG RANT ASIDE...Does anyone else have these issues? Do you have any tips? 'Cause uh. xD; I'm kinda lost. I wish there were actually pretty sexy / cute clothes for people in wheelchairs...that fit perfectly. If there is...? WHERE ARE THEY? D: Anyone have ideas? haha. I need help. xD; OH. And if there ARE guys in this thread. Um. Do YOU have any issues like this? Probably not with bras....but...xD;;

My sympathies on the clothing dillemma. A relative of mine had pretty bad scholiosis and thus some simmilar problems with clothing. Everything had to be altered to fit properly. Back in the era of shoulder pads, she'd rip it out of one side to make her shoulders appear more 'even.'
For me, buying clothes is annoying, but that's more to do with my opinions on fashion than anything else.
What I have a big problem with is shoes. I have a bit of a thing for high heels. Preferably spike-heels with like... Half a shoe-lace holding them to my foot. The problem? My balance isn't great and my ankles are worse. I know I can't have them, but every time I go shoe-shopping, I want. I stare, I try on, and I fall. Bah.
Also, because my skin is rather fragile, I sometimes have problems with shoes (especially sandals) rubbing through my skin. It ain't pretty, and I can't always tell which shoes will do it when I'm trying them on the first time. Several seemingly safe pairs have turned out to be disasterous. Very occasionally, I've had the same problem with underwire bras.

Same here, my spine is curved too, although it doesn't stick out. I just don't sit straight I guess, anyway about clothes..
I don't think I have that much problems with clothes because of my disability...only problem is that I can't wear skirts because they're super annoying at bathroom and I really really wanna wear skirts crying
I have problems buying clothes because of my size, yes. But that doesn't count as disability factors...
For shoes...I have super small feet..no store sells my size.. it's like miracle to find shoes at my size. So I have like 2 shoes and that's all. My sister says my feets are that small because I don't walk but my dad has small feet(not as small as me but still) too and he walks fine, so I don't think that one relates to my disabillity either. And obviously no wheelchair ppl wear heels..at least I don't think so.. but yeah, who cares about shoes rofl at least I don't.
I do care about fashion but not that much, and I don't really have problems buying clothes

I shouldn't care about shoes. I think some of my frustration comes from the whole forbidden fruit thing. If I could go around in stilettos, I probably wouldn't want to, but I can't, so they're the schmexziest things ever and I want them. It's a silly and juvenile fixation, but then again, I'm a silly and juvenile person most of the time. 4laugh

Actually...the feet being small thing MIGHT have a little to do with it. My feet are smaller than my 11 year old sister's. |: ...and hers are pretty small to begin with. But..I dunno. xD I'm not an expert on feet...seeing as they usually disgust me. >____>;
...I normally HATE buying shoes...but sometimes I find ones that I LOVE...but like... I can never find the right size. Dx;
@lili of the lamplight: ...That does make sense, sort of. xD; Like...I hate wearing dresses...but I had to at prom. Normally..I don't give a crap what I look like...BUT...because there was this one dress...that couldn't fit me, and I KNEW it wouldn't, because of the style, or whatever...I couldn't get it. That..for some reason...>> made me WANT it. ..Then again, I suppose it was also pretty...it was orange and faded down to pink..and was strapless or whatever...and was poofy down at the bottom. It would've matched my makeup. =O ...but then again, I ended up doing my makeup with those colors anyway...even though I ended up getting a sparkly black and white dress. >w<;; [/rambling]
@No one in particular...: ...I suppose I'm just...ugh...Annoyed with the fact that it seems...NOTHING I EVER like..fits me. |: So...yup.

If you can find a dressmaker they can fit and make the clothes for you and you can pick out your own material, it can be cheaper than buying, but can also be more expensive, really dependent on who it is and what they charge for their service.
I know what you mean though, nothing ever fits me properly. The problem with clothing in stores is they are made to fit a standard model and most people, even non-disabled people don't fit that particular standard.
