The C A B I N
Despite the fact that I'm only 17, I've had many pets during my life, some of which are no longer with me.
I've set up this quest so that I can one day get a GHS for some of my animals, as a reminder for how much they mean to me.

My First Cat.. > white..

Description: Completely white with blue eyes.
You'll find that the names of my animals are... simple. Seeing as though I was very young, I'm sure they'd make more sense. White cat? As any genius child would do; call her White.
My neighbor was a farmer with farmer's mentality, despite the fact we lived near a very deadly and busy road. He would have multiple outdoor cats to catch mice, and some inevitably were caught in the road's trap.
It was on a cool evening that my mom called me outside to look at something in one of our three huge Deodaras. The light from our flashlights caught in her eyes and though were were still unsure she was a cat, she unlatched herself from the midsection of the tree and ran boldly up to us. She circled my legs, rubbing and being adorably cute. Naturally we took her inside, knowing that a large pack of coyotes lived in the quarry practically next door.
Whether is was my mother's intention or not to keep her, it was in my mind that White was a stray, wandering around and had somehow ended up in a tree near my house. I never put it together until much more recently that it was my neighbor's farm cat. Having recently moved there, she became our first pet at the Cabin. She would greet me whenever I came home, hopping up onto the couch near the door to rub against me. I loved her very much.
Since her, we had gained many more animals, after all, it's amazing how many you're willing to keep in your house when it's only a cabin held together by duct-tape. For the time being, she was our only cat, but the road outside was a popular dumping place for unwanted animals, and we soon found ourselves caring for many strays temporarily. However, one puppy with mange did manage to find a place in our home as an outside pet, and he grew to be an enormously strong and playful dog. Not meaning any harm but the natural urge to chase anything that ran, he got into the house and White bolted outside, the screen door unfortunately unlatched. She had never tried to get outside before, so it was never an issue until that day. She ran into the street and was struck by a car, I returned home from school with my mom holding a decorative hat box containing White. She had died instantly and my mother told me she looked like she was sleeping. We held a small ceremony in our side-yard, burying her beneath a white rose bush.

After White, my mom took me for my birthday to pick up two free kittens advertised in the papers. Pumpkin was always friendly and even as a small kitten, was happy in anyone's lap. Gold on the other hand, was extremely skiddish, and we had to lure her out of a hiding spot with baloney on a string just to take her home. Horribly scared, she made a mess all over my kiddie-cowboy boots. Still, I didn't care, I had two new kittens. They both quickly became settled in the house, hardly leaving each other alone. They groomed each-other and slept in the same bed, living peaceful and calm lives.
That was until my brother decided he wanted a cat of his own. For his birthday, my mother got another kitten who we named Onyx. She was sick and far too young with no mother, she rejected our food and soon passed away. I still remember picking the fleas off of her. Satisfied that we had made her last days comfortable, we placed her in her own hat box, burying her next to White in the garden.
That's when we got Mudd, but more on that later. They all got along to a certain degree, but the Cabin was soon destroyed by the Grand Prix Fire on October 25th, 2003. We were forced to move to a small apartment, and then to give them away to separate homes. Pumpkin was happy with anyone as always, and we gave her to an elderly lady. Gold was horribly scared and confused without her sister, complaining loudly. We gave her to a family with several other cats, assured that they would make her feel at home. I still wish I knew the people they were given to, and that we could have kept them together.

Mudd is the little terror thrown into the lives of the poor, unsuspecting Pumpkin and Gold. At first we were afraid that Pumpkin and Gold would gang up on the new kitten, so we kept Mudd in her own room... TO BE CONTINUED.
